Thanks for the video. I just recently bought a copy of the original 1986 version. My map looks somewhat different than what I am seeing on RUclips but I cannot wait to start playing. This Saturday is the day. Got my sequence cards online from Stuka Joe. Excited!!
just one last question: if we have a major raid with 9 planes and we only have 6 available on the map, what do we do thank you again ;-) and subscriber +1
You work your way down the Force Card placing what you can (you may substitute like for like - fighters for fighters and bombers for bombers if you don't have the right type) until you run out. In the Eagle rules it's page 11 section 8.2 at the top. Again, hope that helps and you're enjoying the game and thank you for subscribing!
I have the original, and the reprint after that - but seeing that mounted board sure does tempt me. It's a great game, you'll be praying for bad weather to give your RAF pilots a break. Oh, and wait till you think the 'game day' is over, and the AI springs a nasty surprise raid. :-)
Hi jedyman, thanks for the kind comment. 'LW is short for Luftwaffe and on the time advance part of the event cards relates to Depletion - so if there is LW Depletion the time advance is this, if No LW Depletion the time advance is that. Depletion occurs when the Luftwaffe run out of Replacement Points and the Depletion marker is moved on the track (0-7 Depletion Points is treated as no Depletion; 8-14 as Deplete 1 and 15 as Deplete 2 - this info is used on the Combat Results Table). Hope that helps. 😊
Thanks for the video! Been playing the original GDW game recently, and it sure is a classic. I'm certain this version would be more or less the same, but improved.
Yes.... YES! I still have this game in the wrapping. I only got it myself a month ago. Now that you opened it and started playing (I’m assuming) ..... well I just have to get in my Spitfire and catch up! Like you, I sleeve my cards. What brand/size did you find for these cards?
Hi Tom, already videoing the playthrough - it's great! Unfortunately, the sleeves won't arrive for a while (I get all my sleeves on eBay from a chap in Slovenia). In case you're interested, here's the link for the RAF cards: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262141510216 👍

The finest solitaire war board game ever designed. Butterfield outdid himself with this one.
I wholeheartedly agree!! 👍

I used to have this game. Fun game.
good video ! what does "LW" or "NO LW" mean on event cards and how does depletion work ;-)

Ohh, the temptation!! It is only the price stopping me buying this but my resolve is weakening!!
Good video as always!
Hi Steven, I'm enjoying it but yes, 'tis expensive - luckily bought for me by my family as a Birthday present! 😊
Hi. Do you know what is the tickness of your plexiglass and its weight?. Thanks
Hi Martin, the plexi I use is 3mm thick and 36x24.5 inches
A mounted board!! Haazaahhhh!! I hope DG sells the board separately.
