Hello everyone, thank you for watching. If you like what I do, please support the channel by subscribing, 'pushing the bell' and liking the video - it helps a lot!
Still one of my favourite series of your videos Rough! I just decided to re-watch them as it's long overdue for me to put RAF on the table again and your videos are a brilliant refresher for the rules and sequence of play.
Wow! There's a huge amount of steps to go through, but Stuka Joe's cards and your step-by-step play through really shows how detailed this game is! Well done Rough!
For anyone watching this stream you certainly do not need to make an extra set of cards for this game - all the necessary information is on the sequence of play and the charts. You may require to consult the rules initially but once you are up and running the whole system is very straightforward. I played this scenario last summer during the actual days and it was a lot of frustratiing fun.
This was a fantastic overview and play through. Thank you so much for posting it! It answered nearly all my questions. I’ve purchased the game based on your review.
Un commentaire très bien fait qui permet de découvrir un excellent jeu, très immersif et très agréable ! Thanks from France for Rough Swordman Wargamer !
An excellent video. I unfortunately, I have the 1977 version but I have been able to apply the sequence of play cards. With this video you have confirmed to me that I am playing it correctly. Thanks. I love this game.
The key mechanisms are a day which varies in length - allowing extra time for you to be bombed - and shifting target priorities for the bombers - if they want your radar or airfields for instance you get less warning as they are right on the coast, and if damaged your whole future defence effort is prejudiced. An excellent and convincing simulation, makes you feel involved. Read Len Deightons book while playing it
Another great video! I sold this version, but managed to find the original West End Games version for a song a couple months ago..it might need to hit the table soon!
I love your style in all of your play through videos. It’s clear you have a solid grasp on all the nuances of the rules in all these games that I now own and love after watching these. Maybe you could do video on Nighfighters in the future... :)
Hi Ross and thank you for the kind comment. I'm really glad my videos helped you (even though I do make mistakes!) and hope you are enjoying the games. :)
have just purchased the game ,and downloaded Stuka's cards am i right in saying you can play without stuka's cards or does it make it easier and obviously you just use the cards everytime you play ? , keep up the good work . p.s. love the War room vids too.
Awesome video. I used the series to make sure it's something I would enjoy... old Avalon Hill fan. I noticed after I purchased the Deluxe Game that there is a computer version of Lion and Eagle available for purchase from Decision Ges for about $20 USD. Any idea if those versions differ from the board game?
Hi Nuclear Rabbit, I'm sure you'll enjoy it (as you know it's been around since the 80s). I'm sorry but I've no info about the PC version as I don't own it.
I’m curious… where in the rules does it say to move undamaged Squadrons from the Hunt Box to the Bomber Box after the Hunter Attack? The rules stipulation that Squadrons leave the Hunt Box to In Flight “reduced or full” or “reduced” to Bomber Box after a disruption. In fact in Section 10.23 Example 2 - it clearly states that the undamaged “B” flight goes to In Flight. Nowhere do undamaged Squadrons perform a second attack in a single game turn.
Hi V Star, you are probably right (I can't remember the rules 100% as this video was recorded a year and a half ago) so this will help others and thank you for commenting. :)
Great video as alway, just off topic but where did you print Stuka Joe's cards as they look to have been printed on actual card stock of some kind? Thanks
Hi Alex, I print the cards myself. I have a video on how I maker my PnP stuff here (including cards) if it's of interest: ruclips.net/video/riMqD9ooquk/видео.html
Can I ask you a question? suppose you have to put in the raid display 4 Me109 of the Luftflotte 2 .... how do you choose how many A, how many B and how many C?
Hi Luca, I missed your comment so sorry for the late reply. If I remember correctly, I think you choose A, B and C as equally as you can (not all A for example), so in this instance you would choose one of each and a random one. :-)
Hm.. looks very deterministic this game. For the entire video you made a total of one unique decision (twice).. where to assign squadrons. Is that right?
Hi Chad, being a solitaire game, it tends to be procedural but the randomness and unpredictability comes from the cards. It's been a while since I've played this but it's one of my favourites and is held in high esteem. Watching the videos will give you an idea if it's for you.
Hi Dave, I made a short video on how I make my PnP components. The link is below and the card making part is near the beginning of the video - hope it helps! 😊👍 ruclips.net/video/riMqD9ooquk/видео.html

Thank you, Jarcore! 👍
whats up buddie.... hope all is well... watching from afar.. and enjoyng you as always... take care.
Hi id, great to hear from you. All good here - you take care too. 👍😊
I just found your video and look forward to watching the whole series! I just got a copy of RAF 1st printing. Are the rules the same?
If you're talking about the Decision 1st Print, I think they are the same.
have just purchased the game ,and downloaded Stuka's cards am i right in saying you can play without stuka's cards or does it make it easier and obviously you just use the cards everytime you play ? , keep up the good work . p.s. love the War room vids too.
Hi Sean, Stuka's cards are a great aid to make the sequence of play flow easier, they are not essential. Use them for as long as you find them useful.
I rubber coated my foreceps to protect the counters.

great video, clear as always - are you also going to play an Eagles version?
Hi Sly, thank you! Eagle is on the 'to do' list!
@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer fantastique ! haste ! :)
Thank you for this! What kind of tweezers do you use?
Hi and thanks for watching. These are called 'bent nose' tweezers and I got mine a few years ago on eBay.

Great vid Roughie! This is definately on my wishlist, do you still play it?

How did you produce Joe's cards? Obviously substantial material plus plastic. Details please.

I have the old original RAF, but this version seems far better. The only problem is I can’t seem to find a copy anywhere! 😢
The new version is better (mounted map etc) I hope you find a copy.
Hi! Did You cut corners of the pieces? They look so plastic ;) great, so to speak
Hi, they are cardboard so easy to clip - they are quite shiny which might make them look plasticky! 😊
@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer thanks :) I ordered the game and will do the same with those pieces. You did great advertisement by this gameplay!
Far to convoluted to be fun.
Fair enough.
130 quid though :(
I know! Luckily, mine was a present.
