    For those of you asking about how I get the drum-less play-alongs, I made them myself by transcribing the notes and chords, learning to play that on electric guitar, recording it, and filling in the rest(bass, synth sounds) with virtual software instruments in my DAW. Thank you all for watching and commenting :)

      Wei Lung Wong JESUS, man! The amount of talent and hard work it takes to do all that is mind boggling! On behalf of everyone you've helped with these videos, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all these insanely helpful lessons. Keep doing what you do, my friend!

      They certainly aren't cake though, I worked on this groove for 2 months to get it as clean as possible and I still had to quantize it a little while recording this video. Thank you for your compliments though, appreciate it!

      Wei Lung Wong haha I said "look like" trust me, transcribing physical education a while back helped me learn how terrifying Matt's grooves are.

    Can you do a video explaining the Ectogenesis chorus? I can't seem to figure out what rythm Matt is playing on the hi-hat.. I'm getting that 5/4 sixteenths feel but I'm not quite sure.

    • @ArtOfDrummingHQ
      @ArtOfDrummingHQ  7 лет назад

      I'm refraining from doing anything "Ectogenesis" related because Matt Garstka already has a full playthrough lesson he's selling on his website matt-garstka.myshopify.com/ . If I do one it'll be doing him a disservice so why don't you try purchasing that lesson? And if it's not in there let me know again and I'll do it :)

      I study classical guitar and classical composition but I really like AAL, so maybe some general explanation on polyrythms with examples of this band could be an idea(?) I would also be interested in a tutorial on how to transcribe complex rythms like these. I hope that makes things a little clearer, but really, it's up to you!
