+SNIPER 1102 i have two first pattern ammo pouches one has the front plate and grommet but no side or back plates the other is the exact opposite it has the grommet but no front plate but has side plates and a back plate. Can you please tell me why
your bayonet looks like it belongs to an FN FAL, most common wealth countries used the rifle. in Canada it was the FN C1A1. Australians used the rifle in nam so its possible a marine might have one through a trade.
+D Marshall I would probably go with it being a spanish bayonet from the 40's. the m1 bayonets are different from this one. And thanks for the info on the ammo pouches.
funny thing about the flak I had one of the exact same style one(just sold it a few weeks back), about the repairs mine had the same ones too I believe they were vietnam era ballistic nylon and were transferred to the new covers and then used in training in the late 70s early 80s before the pasgt was introduced. Another thing could be they were shipped over to Israel in the 70s and used over there, which did happen. Almost all of these later style of flaks ive seen are from the same company size medium and 74 dated weird isnt it.
It looks to be an m3 bayonet for m1 garands or m14, I can’t remember if m2 is for Garand or m14, but they are both the same except latch mechanism, it would work for Vietnam, but you’d be more suited using an m7 for the m16 or even an m4-m6 also made for garands and m14s
for the flak i´ve seen a video in youtube where a veteran sows his gear from vietnam and he sais he got a issued m1955 and he didn´t like so he picked up a m69, you can find the video here, in youtube, but for usmc the m1955 always on you except for recon units and things like that, overall very good video you earned a new sub!
Hello! I've got a question and it would be great if I'd get an answer. So, I've got a M64 Army Uniform, Original Belt and H-Suspenders, with some Pouches, I need, Jungle Boots and a M1 Helmet with Cover. My Weapon of choice is an M1A1 Thompson. I'm not in the Reenacting Scene, but I love to use my Vietnam Gear for casual Airsoft Games. Is my Loadout horribly wrong (Mainly because of the Thompson with the stock)?
Awsome video!! I juste wanned to point out that for the m56 magazine pouches it is the contraray, the one with the steal plate ar early war and the one with nothing ar late war, at leats this is wath iv here of moste people.
We were when we first started five years ago because we couldn't afford actual rifles. Mind you that's by no means the "proper way" to reenact haha. We have since corrected that discrepancy for the most part.
a couple of us has blank firing 45's, but the only reason none of us have blank m16s is because none of us can afford them right now, and we host our own events, to our knowledge there's no other Vietnam reenacting units in our area.
SgtMcCullin that doesn't even make sense the reason its the m69 flak vest is because it came out in '69 so if you saw what looked like a marine wearing an m69 in a photo from '67 or '68 the vest was the USMC experimental m67 flak vest or a 3/4 collar flak vest. Learn your shit before you post
I heard first experimental M69s were out there in '67. You might expect that M69 means 1969 but it was out there earlier. Really rare. 3/4 collar flak vest is actually same as M69.
There was no such thing as an "experimental m69 flak vest" there was the m69 flak vest, the experimental m67 flak vest, and the 3/4 collar flak vest. No such thing as an experimental m69 flak vest. I would like to know where your learning this complete bullshit from!

Hey, the graffiti on the back of the vest is from a soldier who was in the 3rd Btn, 26th Marines. The unit me and my buddies portray
one thing, about the pouches, early war gromet and reinforced front, latter war rubber piece in the pull tab and no reinforcement on the front

Also the bayonet I believe is a US ww2/Korea m1 garand bayonet. But it also could be a Spanish bayonet from the 40's

The Army also used flak vests perticulary 1st air cav guys who helped the marines during The siege of Khe Sanh

M1 is for the garand
I thought the marines always had m56 gear in Vietnam

Um also the one with the gromet and steel plate are the early war m56 ammo pouch es
M1 garand short bayonet?
Patrick Williams rong its a m14 bayanet
@@anakinmiller5421 no it's not, the M14 bayonet was called an m6 bayonet it looks nothing like his
Would an LC-2 rucksack be accurate for Nam?
Nope, no ALICE packs. Lightweight Rucksacks and Tropical rucksacks only. Unless you got the M41 pack.
Edwin oh ok thanks
What unit used m56
Basicly all marines 1967 --> because they didn't do shit with M61 m14 mag pouches.
He said in the vid

Seen much combat

Are you reenacting with airsoft guns?
We were when we first started five years ago because we couldn't afford actual rifles. Mind you that's by no means the "proper way" to reenact haha. We have since corrected that discrepancy for the most part.
is it stil a correct bayonet
Cool vid just FYI the ones with the gromet are the early versions and the other ones aren't that's why the ones without the gromet are easier to get.
Nice gear!!
So no one in your unit has blank guns? Do you actually participate in events with empty airsoft guns? Not being rude I'm just curious
a couple of us has blank firing 45's, but the only reason none of us have blank m16s is because none of us can afford them right now, and we host our own events, to our knowledge there's no other Vietnam reenacting units in our area.
its definitely a spanish cetme bayonet
Cool.
Also the m69 is an army type flak vest
Yeah but i've seen a marine officer in '67 or '68 with M69 flak. Also some rare marines got their hands on M69s.

I would not get a blank firing m16 get ak-47 because it was common for them to grab a ak because m16 will jam easy
Think m1grand
