Today I take a look at the best 5 decks in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket for play in January 2025. The best decks have changed quite a bit with the release of Mythical Island, see which strategies are thriving and which ones are falling off!
They really need to add more deck slots, i want to try so much but i don't want to delete or replace old decks i have
Yhhh and they should also add the option to copy decks from limitless as in clash royale you can copy from api royale. Also copy decks from your own account, just to be able to order your decks
@@adlrs_55they have that feature in pokemon tcg live so i was suprised to see it wasn't in pocket. i think it will probably get added at some point
Screen shot em if you have to
@@xcyphs good news for me hahaha
Each new deck slot will only be 5 dollars 😊
Honestly celebi gave exeggutor exactly what it needed, some late game inevitability. I don't even think it needs serperior but it does shore up the late game if a celebi gets sniped
I brought on my channel a deck with exeggutor ex, celebi ex and mew ex and it's great! But a little bit inconsistent cause of coins
@@Barracuda_Pokemon_TCG_Pocket i play a similiar one in my top 4 decks. Celebi and mew both 1 time only. If they come late u had two exxecutor ready and they can stall with erika and potion plus 160hp. When u get mew or celebi in your hand u just fill them with energy to have them ready if needed. Most times u do not need them but they can win matches u loose without them.
Tried both . Did great . Switched to my gyrados aquali deck with staryu and it's 30000x better
@@ans-dq9xh what about lumineon instead of Aquana? Do U think u can give Up the Energy ability For more pressure from the start
Its worse to play celebi exeggutor instead of celebi surperior
The ninetales deck is still powerful with blane with the mythical island ponyta and mythical island rapidash. Blaine makes them even more powerful
I was using a ninetales with moltres and arcanine deck love it apart from the fact if you have to play it first you can't set up the bench due to having to discard energy every turn
I was pleased to see dragon shield as your sponsor, I used to play MTG more than a decade ago and they were very obviously the highest quality sleeves, like to the point that I eventually just stopped trying any other sleeves and just got them lol
The celebi deck is so free, i am fairly new to the game been playing for 2 weeks and i have really only opened up mythical island and now with the celebi deck i cant stop winning
0:46 @Tricky Gym
fancy trying out my variant of the marshadow deck?
basically, remove the mankey line, add 2 farfetchd, add 1 more giovanni, add 1 old aerodactyl. i think farfectchd is superior anyway (more early bonks & i love being able to hold it in hand until i need it sometimes), with so many 110 hp mons 2 gio really helps, and the option to turn a game you were about to lose into a 50:50 coin toss for one deck slot is HUGE. try it!
So, I've been having a LOT of success with using Snorlax instead of Exeggutor in Celebi EX.
I think the golem deck is really good, however it's probably one of the hardest to pilot correctly most people play it badly or make more mistakes
What mistakes do people make?
@@PunishedFred You have to stall and sacrifice every game before it comes into play and turns the table. That recommended build for it in the video is bad though. You can do better with out taking drugieon and only using brock and professor oak support cards and take onix and ex spd instead. I get that their trying to min/max and squeeze out extra damage, but it has to many supports cards which can only be used once per turn and end up going to waste by not really helping you to stall enough and geting in the way of cards you need. Every match is different, but you have to make careful decisions to stay in long enough to get golem out with full energy and it has to attack first before taking damage to sweep. My Golem deck is 2 Geodude, 2 Gravler, 2 Golem- one defense, one offense, 2 onix, 1 diglet, 1 dugtrio, 2 pots, 2 exspd, 2 pokeballs, 2 oaks. Optimally diglet starts the battle, evolves to dugtrio and wastes 1 - 2 attacks from the opponent, then onix comes in and meatshields and if more turns are still needed it gets switched out to the other onix and meatshields just long enough to get Golem in which usually sweeps. If thier active pokemon has a lot of HP and won't get one shot by it that's why I take the other one to use instead so it can get the k.o. It's not the strongest or cheapest deck and maby some other strats could be worked into it I haven't thought off, but it's better then this video's suggestion. 😅
@@PunishedFredThey play a golem deck
I had commented before the set that everyone was talking about Mew EX. I said, obviously, Mew EX would be almost a staple in every deck. Then I said Aerodactyl EX would be so underrated and referenced how locking evolution was a big time ability even in physical TCG. I thought because of the slower pace of the game, it’d be such a sleeper card to make a deck with. Some commenters said that it’d never be competitively viable. And to that I say…😏
No Giovanni in the pikachu deck is kinda crazy. Doing 100 allows you to Ohko tauros, rapidash, graveler, and most importantly, druddigon. My list has 2 Giovanni over 1 Sabrina and 1 zapdos ex found in the list in the video (i only have 1 zapdos and would totally swap out dedenne instead if I could).
The music in this vid comes from Mewmore, I think They're an excellent music creator on RUclips 🎶🎶🎶
Happy New Year everyone🎉
I'm too unlucky to play with coin reliant decks like the Celebi Deck, Marowak, Moltres and Misty.
I played Celebi, fliped 3 coins, got a sigle heads, opponent used an Erika. Next turn I got serperior, attached energy, glipped 8 coins. 6 tails, 2 heads. My opponet next turn gets his serperior too, flips 4 coins. Gets all 4 heads 💀
I quit that match lmao
Gonna stick to my non coin decks for life fam 🤣
Misty moltres and marowak are coin reliant, (moltres not that much) celebi is built diff, you have greater odds and probability its not luck anymore if you have 6-10 flips and only need 100-200 dmg in the late game. People are just bad playing celebi decks, take advantage of point system and send out celebi at the right time
Honestly, you don't really need luck with Celebi if you play it right.
The more energy you throw on, the more likely you are to deal heavy damage. If I can, I'll wait to play Celebi in active until I have 4 or 6 coins worth of energy on there. Celebi is late game, and I've won a handful of matches with a Celebi that only had 10 - 20 hp left. You just need the right strat.
It's not the most popular combo, but I actually like to use the new exeggutor in my Celebi deck because I can switch up my strat depending on the deck I'm facing. Of course, the weakness there is that it takes 4 energy.
it’s like that eventually with everything unfortunately, it will feel like it’s always happening but it’s about half the time just like everything else in this game although i do have more fun playing non flip decks because it can be pretty irritating 😂
I flipped 12 coins and got 12 tails and lost with celebi. I don’t play that deck anymore.
Nah you definitely need luck. People with horrendously had luck like me have had 18 tails in a row so yes luck is still a factor
I have this Alakazam Brew I made that has been working and I’ve been loving it. Here’s the Guu
2x Druddigon to stall
2x Alakazam Line for cleanup and threatens how your opponent plays against your board easily scaring them from attacking your walls.
2x Amber and 1 each of Aerodactyl and Dactyl EX tbh hardest decision is if I want both ex or not but the EX effect isn’t always relevant , regular is a one prizer while still having a decent stall attack. Could be both EX. Still need to test.
And then 2x Professors, Poke Ball, Mythical Slab and Leaf to round out the deck. All for consistency and leaf to make plays or conserve a alakazam to use as a Huge follow up attack.
All in all Alakazam can threaten one-hits onto most any mon built up, making it an extremely great clean up/boss for the deck while you stall for its build up time with druddigons and aerodactyls.
Pls give it a try and lmk what you think!
honestly i think fighting decks are kinda better without aerodactyl, 2 marshadows with 2 hitmonlees can setup to kill just about everything; i do also run farfetch'd rn but im considering cutting them cause i dont use the 40 that often
also not having aerodactyl lets you slot other useful cards in
What cards do you use instead?
Aerodactyl are a must. Otherwise stalling deck will kick yo ass .
Also most good player will send the base pokemon they want to keep in fighting slot against fighting energie deck .
How would you say the Scolipede/Weezing Dark Deck is fairing? It’s pretty niche with its poison stall, but I’m curious.
It’s outclassed by most of the top decks right now
im using this just to spite all the psychic bros out there and it isnt great. you can prevent evo's with the poison kills but until they get an EX for dark out there, its going to be relatively mid.
Golem is solid but inconsistent. I think it feels better to play than it actually is because of its comeback potential.
Considering it's a non-ex, it's already good. Lets wait for its EX counterpart.
Just this morning I beat the Celebi EX deck with Areodactyle's, I was very lucky because for 2 rounds he only made 1 head out of 4 throws. Thanks for the tips, nice video
Pokemon TCG pocket is nice addition for my gaming. Besides MTG Arena. And Dedenne is so cute!
Great info!! Wait is that Godzilla in the back!! 😄 ...waaaaait is that kid zilla 🫣
From my experience mewtwo EX with gardevoir is top one, celebi EX serperior is #2, anti meta Muk weezing is #3, rush down fighting deck with cards like sandslash and marrowack EX along with golem and aerodactyl EX is #4, and 5 is gyrados EX
Is that gyarados deck only water energy or is it fire as well for druddigon?
Water only
Thank you!!
@@TrickyGym thank you
Hate when games become meta but cannot lie that it is sometimes necessary to have a meta deck or 2 if you want to play here and there. Pocket is too addictive to ignore not playing.
Every game ever has a meta
I’m running the fighting deck but with 1 of each primeape, the other one does 100 damage for 2 energy if it has any damage in it with fight back, considering swapping out the punch primeape.
I put Dedenne in my electric deck and out of 10 battles, it paralysed once. ONCE 😳
The aerodactyl mankey deck is so addictive to play
Agree the Golem Deck is not quite as reliable as the 5 Decks mentioned in this video. A few pain points I found when trying out the Golem deck...
One, a Stage 2 Golem is not easy to be fully evolved quickly.
Two, Brock is not a very efficient Support Card, it only adds ONE energy per card and can ONLY be applied on Golem (so Brock cannot be used on earlier stages mons like Geodude nor Graveler).
last deck better with one executor ex and on mystical island executor (similar to jynx in mew ex decks)
I subscribed! I really like fire 🔥 deck I can one shot celebi, and mewtwo if I have nice draw cards. Hopefully next update they add card where you can search for fire type pokemon to quickly evolved to Charizard that would be huge!
160 > 80, Marowak > Aerodactyl
🧠🧠🧠
I call Marowak “Gamble-wak” lol. I could 1-tap an ex, or sneeze on a 10hp pokemon that then picks me off lol
I have a fire deck that gets slammed by marrowak luck or by mew genome hacking.
Other than those it does extremely well
3:07 tier4 channel is that you?
Whats the set up for celebi deck?
Aerodactyl Primeape marshadow, charizard, celebi, mewtwo, articuno, and pikachu are my top 5
Will dual type decks ever be good? I think not.
Hitmonlee isn't really a counter to magycarp let le explain .
If turn one hitmonlee and fighting slot magycarp. It can't do much .
If you have a magycarp in hand , a good gyrados player won't bench it unless 2 are available .
From the start if i see a fighting énergie i don't put magycarpe unless i have a gyarados .
It's still a counter, just something you can play around. But it does make Gyarados decks monumentally harder to play.
I'm the same way though! Hold until you can safely evolve Magikarp, whether it be by having a 2nd Magikarp, killing both hitmonlees, or having a blue in hand (if you run that).
I've struck gold! Ive been using of all things wiggly ex and shiinotic. Add a drud for defense and leafs erica sub and a couple gios for utility. It sounds like shit posting cause it started as shit posting but ive been dominating with it.
Don't agree with the Golem feedback. If played correctly and same with any of these deck, luck being on your side the win ratio for me is over 70%. Its fun to not have to use the Meta or EX crutch to win.
How come I don’t see people talking about celebi ex deck
That Aerodactyl deck is prehistoric dung.
Hey why don’t u have any fossils in any of these decks
Just confused after your previous videos
Things have changed! The fossil video is 3 months old
Fossil x2 in the very first deck...
You think I'm going to disclose my secret Pokemon deck! NEVAA!
how do you guys unlock all these EX's im having the worst luck Y_Y
Me running a gyara+starmie
Why is everyone playin X Speed and not leaf?
Probably haven't pulled Leaf yet?
Really been enjoying Exeggutor decks I feel its the closest where you can actually play 2 colors effectively
Great video!!!!
Out of 10 games 2 are some random rogue decks that are counteres for a specific deck and 8 are celebi decks ... Every single time I face one I go first and they have serperior by turn 3 and they hit 4 or more heads
I don't know what was in the devs minds when they made it like that even if you are the unluckiest player on earth you are bound to at least 2 heads that is usually 100 dmg , frankly I think this needs a nerf of some kind
My celebi hits 2 heads max LOL
2:25 i played this mankey the past few days and not once hit the coin flip... few games went for 4+ times all tails. I swore to never use a mankey card again. 😂
Me after being able to build all these decks: 🗿🗿
you dont need exegutor in celebi serperior deck. that exegutor will just prolong the game giving your opponent more time to setup
Exeggutor lists significantly outperform other Celebi lists in tournament though. Celebi is awful against setup sweeper decks regardless, but the eggs are em extremely powerful threat on-curve, particularly against faster decks like Pikachu.
I just downloaded the game two days and am having fun with it despite not having much for any high tier deck. My wins are from poor rolls from the opponent or just getting every pull I need and having the type advantage. And nothing is more frustrating than playing against that Celebi deck or whatever, even if I run a fire deck. It just prints leaf energy and heals up through my damage with that trainer card and potions. Lame af.
9 times out of ten I've beaten celebi decks due to setting up Ex Arcanine on the bench with Moltres then one shotting the celebi most of them will waste energys powering it up so it leaves the other cards exposed
I feel like Dedenne is overrated?
Dumb app don't bother tcgp is 100% grade A+ trrrrrrrrrrraaaaaasssshhhhhhh
The best deck is - luck. this game is all about luck. Skill is always going to be secondary in a game with only 20 cards with a max of 2 copies of each. when you have a huge chance to never draw what you need or always draw what you need, each game is a coin toss no matter what.
Game has no utility or real strat. In order to beat the harder challenges, you have to get as lucky as possible. Everything has to work perfectly to pull it off. Like you said LUCK
Darkrai ex button >>>>>
Imo I use the new normal Exeggcutor that came out in Mythical Island with Psychic that is the 80 + 20 per energy on opponent. I feel like having multiple EXs in a deck is a bit too risky and its a more guaranteed 80 damage at least, if you have Serperior, with 2 energy. I will try one of each to see which one really feels best for me but thats okay. o( ̄▽ ̄)d
Having multiple EXs attackers is the same thing as having one EX attacker+one single point attacker in this game. The new one is not tanky and needs serperior to attack which loses the whole point in the current celebi deck. Exeggutor EX is here and winning because of the 160hp and one energy turn two attack ability.
That water deck is terrible. It revolves around people NOT carrying a Sabrina card.
I can't make any of these decks
Nidoqueen nidoking dark ex’s lol
you look like mtashed
Well, I just beat that Aerodactyl deck with my plant deck with no Celebi.
can u beat it 8 out of 10 times
@swegdoge can you beat it 800 out of 1000? This game is like Pokémon Go it has an algorithm that if it sees you are winning too much, then you start having Sonic, Mario, and the suicide card as initial hand. You need to rotate your deck to avoid starting to defeat you. Just watch the videos of most of the RUclipsrs they do not show more than 10 fights in one video, and let's imagine they do not edit them. You can't have consistency with "luck" in the middle. This is not chess.
@@marlonabreu4188 I'll take it as a no
No starmie? Lmao
Exeguttor Ex ruins the game for this. It isn’t unbeatable but coupled with Celebi it shuts down pretty much all non-meta decks with its ability to beat any 80hp Pokémon as early as round 2. Damage levels are too high in Pocket which removes a lot of the nuance. I love the UI but I’m disappointed with the depth.
golem is fire dude it’s simply a skill diff
It's a luck based game. What are you even talking about when you say skill? Explain what skill mechanic you use to win against an opponent
No amount of skill will save you from bricking not finding the right pokemon to evolve. You're playing a stage 2 deck with no way to search evo pokemon. Doesn't matter if you go first, it's not like the actual TCG (live or paper) you can consistently evolve every turn and even use rare candy. All your opponent needs to win is to draw good hands and you to draw bad hands. Ask me how? I got beaten twice by a Blaine deck with charizard and moltres included which supposed to brick hard, but they have all the perfect cards to win anyway
It's in tournament . So no skill diff they are better than us .
I find it really hard to take this game seriously....it essentially relies on coin flips & hoping the cards you want come up removing alot of the skill from the game compared to other forms of pokemon battling. Imagine if you could set your deck order actually implementing some strategy to the game making the player solely responsible for the success of the deck.
Yeah bcuz there's a lot of card games out there that work that way...
this is just card games. variance is always a factor, but the small deck size and cards that fetch things, even at random like a Pokeball, are ways players can force consistency. the real card game has Prize Cards that come out of your deck during setup and that might just brick the game for you. as a deckbuilder you should be removing as much variance as possible
tldr sounds like a skill issue
@SinglExplosiv nah it's just a design flaw of all tcg & that's okay I just don't enjoy playing a game where you've no control over your destiny and have to hope the idea you built the deck around occurs...yes there are cards to search but again rng. You can say skill issue all you want but until you get to decide what move comes next and not just hope you draw it the whole games just one big grab bag & you're more likely to lose or win because of rng than being out played which doesn't appeal to me lol
For people who thinks playing blaine makes them unique coz its not an ex, yall need to stfu its the most brain dead deck, mewtwo and celebi has more micro plays than blaine decks lol
What a clickbait 😮 this january not even a week yet
Pocket is a blight on the TCG
1 view in 47 seconds bro fell off 😭🙏
Did this dude just called the celebiEX executor EX deck ??? Lol fling clueless
I had to turn this up to 2x speed just to nake it barely bareble to watch as im literally just looking for a list of decks, not why its his favorite, or why his mom likes it.
Jfc. scrubbing through this video was hell.
Celebi and serperior lmao. Sweeps 95 percent of all decks. Even decks it’s weak against if you can setup quick
What is your deck? Because it doesn’t go like that for me at all, I lose a lot of games
