Who's still listening to this kind of music in 2020? I was just a kid when this came out... Happy 72 birthday Maestro Hammer. Be well. Regards from Guyana.
I've loved this song since I was about 7 years old... I'm 38 now... It truly inspired me to become a musician when I discovered that Jan created the entire thing on a synthesizer... When I realized that - I realized anything was possible.
Michael Mann was a genius behind the stories and the look of Miami Vice. Jan Hammer was the genius behind the music. Don Johnson and PMT were born to play Crockett and Tubbs and together they all made TV history ♥️
This song is the most timeless instrumental I know. I must have heard it 1000 times in my life and I will surely hear it another 1000 times. At no point does it get boring or do you get sick of listening to it. A Masterpiece. I played it when I was a boy (I'm from Year 77) on the organ/keyboard. And of course I bought the CD Escape from Television back then (when there were still record stores). Which by the way (except for title 3: Rumcay, that's still not mine) can also be heard in continuous loop. Thank you for accompanying a piece of my childhood with your music. And even today with 45 years your music still accompanies me.
I can only imagine that Don Johnson or Miami Vice scenes were not included because of NBC policies. It's like a Rocky theme without Stallone. Great 80s tune ever.
I was in High School when Miami Vice Came out! A week before Season 3, I went to U.S. Navy Basic Training in Orlando,FL. When season 5 came out I was stationed in Asia! Sure glad I have the entire series on DVD! Totally Awesome in 2020!
Probably no one will see my comment, but at least for the few of you who will see it... Just feel me .. I don't know if I want to cry because I am a 90s guy and I didn't live in the 80s , or just sit on my couch and relax listening to this amazing melody 🥹
Despite the long years, and the modern musical instruments, this song is from the same category than classical music masterpieces, in their inmortality.
I had never seen the original video. I love this sound! I have it in my playlist when I have a bout of nostalgia for the 80s and 90s. THANKS so MUCH 👍🏾🤟🏾🤩
SImply amazing i keep listening this song as a Miami Vice and the 80's memorial, nothing can compares the music is sublime in Crockett's theme. THank You Jan for make us happy.
The music you created for Miami Vice is absolutely my favourite instrumental music! I listen to it almost weekly after all these years! I hope you can release more of it at some point because there’s still so much in the series that are just such beautiful pieces!
Unique special spectacular style with my strange melancholy nostalgic and many more for the rithm and pure elegance fascination my favorite top 🔝 dream adquired keyboards or minimoog classic in harol foltermeyer

2022 and artists and movie makers just try ro remix or recreate these legend type of songs and movies like ghostbusters.

One of the best anthems of the 1980's by far!!

I agree with you and I can also add that miami vice was the best t.v serie that was made. Greetings from Brazil.

Wow!!many decades, and that music still sounds great.
Jan Hammer is a genius. Just wow. He did so many Instrumentals for Miami Vice. The show just didn't have the same magic without him
Tim Truman did an acceptable job for the final season, but ofc nothing can top Jan's work
Stupenda. Miami Vice ❤❤❤

I could play it on piano as well - I checked out the notes and chords from an Amiga mod!

No, they have an official video with Miami Vice footage as well. This was filmed a few years later for a re-release.
I dig this video., but had I been him, I’d make myself the protagonist so I could make out with the hottie
I don't miss Don Johnson in this video.
I like both music and video
😂🎉
This is a totally brilliant piece, I always get chills when I hear it 🤩☺️🫠😵💫
prob one of the greatest songs ever written
The older I get... I think this man @JanHammer & 80s media inspired my subconscious music brain. Grateful to be a tadpole during those times. 😃
Great song, thank you Jan Hammer for introducing me to the music of the 80s when I was 4 years old in 1994 at a petrol station in Germany.

This piece is most definitely a Cult Classic. Needless to say how deeply I love it 💖🎶⚘
The best Music to drive a car. No matter if in real live or GTA 😁
I listen to this music in my 80s car ,a Mercedes Benz 560SEC and l try to feel the 80's again ,but nothing is the same anymore 😑
At least you have an awesome car!
its really hard sometimes man. you can never go home.
Well you can try driving your car in Miami and listen to this music because Miami is best for the 80’s

Jan Hammers, Crockett's Theme, just great music. Miami Vice is my favorite t.v series, jan hammer played a part in that.

Sir, this piece is timelessly evocative...eternal thanks.
Everytime I hear the music, it will always remember Tommy Vercetti driving his white Infernus at the streets of Vice City. RIP Ray Liotta
I remember when the game came out. Got it on the first day. It exposed me to what I missed in the 80s
Lol! That was such a fun game. Now my 15 year old son plays it. Kinda weird.

Crockett's Theme is even better than the Main Theme
Synthesizer music had already existed for a long time. But Jan Hammer, from Czechoslovakia, took it to the next level.
