This was truly amazing. Mr. Basu seemed like an extremely simple but focused professional. He knew his subject inside out. Ranveer was outstanding with his interviewing style and questioning. I really liked the way Mr. Basu spoke about how fitness cannot be generalised. My seniors with whom I played and learnt from, always never insisted on a common diet and fitness routine for all. Something works for someone, and something doesn't. For example if a cricketer was from the Konkan belt of India and was comfortable eating a lot of rice, he was never stopped, as his staple food, eaten by his ancestors worked for him. Similarly the way Mr. Basu spoke about how a workout (Yoga, Weights, etc) is completely dependent on a person's current strength and flexibility level, was brilliant. I loved this podcast. Kudos to team TRS. I would love to watch Mr. Kapil Dev here. I believe he was one of the fittest people to play the game. Similar to Dhoni, his training style was raw, simple and rustic. Would love to hear about how he maintained his fitness, both physical and mental for so long.

I may be wrong and my apologies for it and it is my personal humble opinion.
When DK did the commentary especially for Sky sports I think he got a better understanding of his own game. By commentating on other players footwork and game he was able to understand what little things are there that he needs to fix in his own batting. By keeping those observations in his mind along with his cricketing experience he manged to have his best personal ipl season. I think he is the right guy for Team India right now considering two big world cups in next 18 months.

Ravi Ashwin and Shardul Thakur are the week links in fitness with less muscles and more flab. But great skills to survive even longer with fitness. Would have been great to hear about them

I don't know how to elaborate but my acceptance of Mr. Basu's thoughts and process is 50-50 yes and no wave.

Yes, I agree with you, especially with consuming high protein. I feel there should be more research on Indian genes on this topic, I feel we are white-washed by Westen influencers. Protein is important I agree, there was no tofu back then but still most of our kings were vegetarians and had immense strength.

Brilliant show. As always Ranveer at his best & Basu sir i ve never heard you speak and you are such a package. Congratulations. I only wished Ranveer spoke a couple of minutes about the book where Basu sir was trying to introduce to the viewers. Not sure why Ranveer went very quiet about it. Mans end of the day gifting you a book and expected you to speak or ask a couple of questions for awareness. 😊
