Austin is one of the things that make X-Plane great. He still works on the project 25 years later, compared to many other GDs who leave after their game has gotten really big. He also is a big nerd and makes hilarious videos.
I like the videos with austin. Aviation geek like many here at its finest. I love the realism of X-Plane 12. Bought it last week and I do not regret after XPlane 11. Keep it up! Greetings from Germany.
Glad to see this lesson with a side of comic relief. The teachings of how the air reacts from the front to the end and with the wings having mobility increases the chance of survivability in a dog fight to landing speeds. Very educational and with humor. Scott Manley...🤣🤣🤣 don't worry about the fuel charge, write it off in taxes ...
hello, I have xp11 from about 5 years now, I had a couple of ocassions were at startup plane asked my authentication cod "serial number", but its like the 3 timed it asked in 2 months, any help?
Thanks for this, Austin. I see you're running XP12 on a Mac Studio (I presume with a maxed-out M1Ultra?) I know everything involves some trade-offs, but could you give us your opinion of what Mac configuration you'd consider as a minimum for providing sufficient performance for decent immersion, including scenery rendering of buildings, airport infrastructure, trees, etc.? Thanks for all you and the Laminar team do for the flight sim community, and keep these informative and entertaining videos coming!
Hey, Austin, we need Tomcat acceleration performance comparison. Can you match that F14 with DCS one? Id like to see how You interpret pilot charts and acceleration aka time to chart spot. It would be great to see you evaluate Tomcat in X-Plane cos I'm not sure those guys in DCS do acceleration/fuel consumption right. Enlighten us please.
Not so interested in DCS whenever I can get from the real plane instead... I DO indeed have it for the F-4, and have used it to tune our new F-4 that you saw briefly here and will release into 12.xx when ready....
@@austinmeyer that's fine but, how about some simple acceleration charts then? just full power at takeoff, climb some, level and time to mach1? can that be extracted out of x-plane jet fighter telemetry?
@@BirdstrikeJack That, and thousands more things. Just go to the data output tab in the main settings menu accessed at the upper right: You can output hundred of parameters to the screen, internet, graph, or a text file. You can output those while you fly any maneuver you can imagine, letting you measure and the plot anything you could ever imagine.
Entertaining video. Are we going to see a new SDK soon so we plugin authors can compile plugins for M1 Macs? M1 users currently have to run under Rosetta to use plugins in XP12. When they do, half their possible performance disappears.
Austin !Please have missiles and other weapons simulated too. Like in DCS , and YES ! Sonic boom simulated sound and sonic boom cone around the plane .Thanks .Love your Sim .
But you can't shoot or see the missile launching or choose weapons, use BVR, RWS or TWS , if you know what I mean! Heat seekers Fox1 Fox 2 and For sure Fox3 .
are the Vapors still under work? I expected them to come off the over the inlet at 1:08 Man what you did there has been irans dream for the past 4 decades 😂😂😂
Just updated X-Plane 12 to the latest version 06 and what a disappointment. I was under the impression 06 was to take care of lighting issues, The instrument panel is so dark on the Cessna 172 it's unusable. Talk about flying in the dark on a VFR day. Ever try changing the comm frequency from standby to active, it doesn't work. I've been waiting for the past 9 months for these issues to be corrected. A BIG disappointment Mr Myer.
Austin, thank you! This video pulled a laugh out of me; I have SARS-CoV-2 (vaccinated and boostered), and until I saw this video, I didn't feel like smiling very much.
@nathanwildthorn6919, You made the GREATEST mistake of your life, by NOT doing any research, on the clotshot, you will have SARS-CoV-2 FOREVER, may God, have mercy on your soul
BRB, checking my credit card statements.
Yep… worth every penny.
Hello it’s Scott Manley there.
Fly safe!

Yes.
Austin is every bit the huge nerd I want in charge of making me a flight simulator
The passion is always present with Austin. I am Absolutely Loving Xplane 12! This was so fun!
What you guys do with these movies is just incredible! Laughed my ass off again 😂 great job, love you guys

Legend has it he is still running today, if only he had infinite fuel
The passion shows and is real. Amazing.
Austin is 100% awesome.
Remember to sim responsibly, kids! XD
Y'all need to steal some Anti-Aliasing.
this... anti aliasing needs a lot of work. i hope clouds someday can be like that of msfs2020
keep em coming Austin! Educational and entertaining at the same time ! Great stuff.......
So in the end what got him was an unmanned flying object that happened to have rapid planned disassembly bit in it.
Hey Austin, what happened to your Cirrus Jet vs Epic video?
Coming back even better...with a real world comparison!
Awesome 😄
That guy is crazy!
Thank you for making 2 videos I asked for thank you!
Seems like your F14 has thrust vectoring, the exhaust is moving slightly in all directions.
Do we really want this guy making flight sims?
Xplane is the sh#t. And these videos make me appreciate it even more!

Okay, the Scott Manley credit card moment killed me😂
Great video!
Too much fun!

I have to admit it is an awesome sim and play it more every day thankyou so much laminar research for a great simulator
Not sure Scott Manley is in on this. xD
Who cares about Top Gun when we can have these films.... who is Maverick anyway compared to Austin....
**runs in**
TOMCATS!!
**runs back out**
Loved this video. Keep them coming!
Austin is a nerd King. Made me lol
Egg 🥚
What exactly do you mean by that?

can you u recommend me a joystick, i want one cuz its hard to fly with mouse in xplane 11

Ugh, yah, we gotta get that API M1-native for sure.. I'm quite sure that's on the list.
@@austinmeyer Thanks Austin!
When is the updated A330-300 FMC coming out for XP12? Because that's what im waiting on until I switch from 11.
Austin, what a Madlad.
Mad as a badger.
a lot of fun !
King if the nerds. Do they have multiplayer now?
Love it!
It would be great if the time wasted creating this was spent actually fixing a work in progress known as XPlane 12.
ok now x plane compete with dcs
