so about combat- you can kick the cross. I'm sad that I had to find this out outside the game on a video, and that combat with it is a bit weirdly balanced (you can't fill up the gauge with it) but the flow of combat is actually insane, using solar wind into a throw then a kick to send the sword behind you, as you run away from a barrage mayhaps, or throw then jump then kick, and as the enemy gets hit you rush in and then barrage them with some normal swings, or the sword goes batshit insane off a recoil and you use the super backflip to catch it, god there's potential here

I did actually learn about the sword kick during editing but just forgot to put a section talking about it.
I will say that while there is so cool stuff it is not obvious suface level stuff and not something your average player will engage with
      Still cool tho

The couple of videos I saw on this game makes it look like the perfect game. Aesthetic and gameplay completely nailed. And with that price makes it a no brainer. Definitely gonna try it

    • @Kraftium

It definately is a game that does everything it sets out to do, if I gave scores it would be an easy 10/10 (maybe 9.5 due to the combat)
Depending on your tastes I think it could easily be a sleeper hit for a personal GOTY

I had been putting off playing this game for a while, but I got struck by COVID and on a whim decided to give it a try. I finished it yesterday and I had a blast with it I need more games like this.

I have not finished this game, i have not watched this video (yet)
But i will say; yes, you should absolutely play this game, it's great and it's a lot of fun, don't let the weird difficulty spike of the tutorial boss get to you, it gets good right after

I had a lot of fun with this game, and agree with a lot of your points! The signposting idea would have been really nice, I got lost a lot. Still, really cool game and very worth the price. Thanks for the video!

Apparently a map system is going to be added at some point due to fan feedback
Would be nice to see the game get sprused up a little for a console release, I'd definately grab it again on switch or whatever

My first impression was Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, but the movement reminds me more of Neon White. Still an interesting aesthetic. While I'm not a furry, dem thighs save lives.
I would have watched the premiere, but I was playing Poison Control, which I still recommend. That game is just fun and has outstanding music. The more I play (slowly), the more I appreciate it.
I hope you're feeling better soon. The initial effects of the virus were rough, but the heaviness in my chest afterwards was worse. My wife got so weak and felt like there was someone standing on her chest all the time. It will pass and you'll feel better soon. We're both old, and we're better than ever. Good to have you back, mate!

I've only played soul reaver a few times when I was super young and all I remember is box pushing I should give them a look cos that edgy shit is my jam
No worries man its all good, Poison Control looks neat I would give it a go if I wasn't already drowning in stuff, tho the thing I remember most about it is people complaining cos nisa hyped up an announcement and people thought it was gonna be a falcom thing
and yeah thanks a bunch man, I'm mostly good these days, had to work through the worst of the after effects so I had days where I'd get up, do a single shift at work and get home, eat and then want to sleep until my next shift. I got like a month of barely any work/time i've booked off now tho so i'm fired up

@@Kraftium Soul Reaver was the first video game I bought online back in 1999 when I was stationed in Japan. I then had to have someone mail it to me, because you couldn't ship to military mail back then. I probably beat it fifty times over the years. I even have it downloaded to my PS3 and used to play it on my PSP. It's such a shame it's a dead franchise at this point. The last attempt at a revival was years ago, Dead Sun, which eventually became Nosgoth. There's a ton of videos on what they were trying to accomplish, and it's an interesting footnote in gaming history.
One aspect of both Soul Reaver and Shadowman that people don't remember is that neither one had any loading screens. You could play through the entire game without having to load except for at the beginning. While this is not that impressive today, in the PlayStation 1 era, this was some cutting-edge stuff.
Keep up the good work, stay positive, and don't let RUclips get in the way of work or life. We'll still be here. Just do this as a hobby and try to have some fun. Keep a "stiff upper lip", I believe you people in Camelot say, or wherever you are. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The room at 07:00. The giant cage. What does it do?! I spend half an hour to get it all the way to the top. But now its just standing there and blocking the pit still. WHAT DOES IT DOOO

    • @Kraftium
      @Kraftium  3 месяца назад

once raising it all the way to the top you can use it to leave the room via a higher exit easily that gives you the upgrade to bounce off enemies when you air attack them
its totally possible you got the upgrade before entering the room via a different route (like i did) making it a bit pointless

yeah thats what I meant by things looking a bit "greybox-y"
That being said that could be partly due to my editing forcusing more on cool platforming sequences over showing off the world. It definitly still isn't its strong point but there are a few areas that look intersting when freely exploring it like the belfrey and libary
