- The Boardwalk Deli at Disney's Boardwalk Resort just opened, replacing the highly regarded Boardwalk Bakery. We attended opening day to see how their artisanally crafted sandwiches and sweet pastries hold up. The deli is themed after a classic tri-state Boardwalk delicatessen. As former New Yorkers, we try to see how well the theming is executed and whether there's a classic Disney twist to the quick service eatery.

Its a half moon cookie (chocolate base). They're from Utica, NY. Black and white cookies are different like you said

Thanks. We will be there in March. Part of the appeal to us of the Boardwalk is all the outdoor eating. Our favorite resort is Animal Kingdom Lodge but we are old and do not comfortable eating indoors. This deli does look good and an improvement of the previous place.
The Boardwalk is so charming and has great views. We LOVE Animal Kingdom Lodge, we stayed their on our Honeymoon. Deli was tasty. Thanks for watching :)

Jelly Rolls has reopened!!! It’s SO FUN! We have reservations at Trattoria for breakfast at end of month - first time there. Flying 🐠 is stellar!!

Y'all had me googling "The Best Black and White Cookies in NYC," and now we gotta go eat some next time we go 😂 I've had some inside Grand Central Station but forgot the place's name. Supposedly Russ and Daughters has the best Black and White.
Everything looked amazing and can't wait to try it here one day. They missed out with having Taylor Ham/Pork Roll for Breakfast!
We loved staying at the Boardwalk for our Honey Moon and April 2021 when it was dead and no one was there. Great video! 🙌🏻
Jay and his WETS....We actually learned by another commenter that half moons are from Utica, NY. I still prefer the traditional black and white but moon was tasty. Ahhh Taylor Ham would have been a great addition. Maybe in the future! That sounds like a dream stay :)
It's promising when the New Yorkers like it! I stayed at the Boardwalk once and it was so nice. My biggest issue was that there was no indoor seating at the only quick serve and limited tables outside!
That’s definitely a downside, especially with the extreme temps in Florida! Thankfully the positives outweigh the negative at this resort. What a dream stay! Thanks for watching.

That sandwich looks awesome. Both look awesome. I think the reason why the pastrami might be chewy because it’s fresh pastrami and not cold cut pastrami. The fact that you tell me there are no real Italian delis in Florida scares me lol
Ah that makes sense. I think I may be a bigger fan of cold cut pastrami then. The food here was solid. Still hoping to go back to try the bagels and breakfast. Still looking for an Italian Deli. There aren't any near where we live at least. We've yet to find a solid pizza spot too. Although we found a nice Italian Restaurant.
We LOVE the Boardwalk area so it’s good to hear that the new food offering replacing the bakery is still good! We have never stayed at the Boardwalk either, but it’s a must to stop by for us on every trip even just for a dinner or to walk around or play some of the games. Will the pizza window here ever be featured on your pizza of Disney world challenge?! 🍕
Sam’s Italian sandwich looked great. It’s a shame the pastrami wasn’t a bit better because that sandwich looked great otherwise. We’ve never tried Milton’s chips either but we really really get down with a good homemade chip so we will have to try the ones from the boardwalk deli. Our other favorite house made chips at Disney are the ones from Sleepy Hollow in MK or the ones from Trilo Bites in DAK.
It’s funny that black and white cookies were so common growing up in New York because over here in the Midwest it’s almost hard for me to recall a time people would have been eating a black n white cookie 😂 the cookie, coffee cake, and cream puff all looked great though. It seems like the crumb cake definitely has some potential - I would probably give it a try because I am a sucker for a good cinnamon coffee cake. 😋

The pizza window will definitely be part of the series! The Boardwalk area was so charming, truly kicking ourselves for not stopping by sooner. We already have plans to go back. Jay still liked his sandwich despite it not being the best pastrami. Hahaha Black & Whites are very NY! Pastries were great. Thanks for watching guys :) Can't wait for you to try it out.
We were waiting for that Milton’s nod 😁 Those are some house-made chips that are tough to beat! We’ve honestly not visited the boardwalk at Disney…I think ever 😅 So we have a lot of experiences, culinary and otherwise, to try out there someday. Boardwalk Deli looks like it serves up a reliable 6-8 experience, but as you said Jay…even if the food was meh, the atmosphere might make it worth a visit! ✨
We miss Hershey so much, some of their offerings just can't be beat. You'd LOVE the Boardwalk, I was truly stunned and don't know how we hadn't visited sooner. I'd love to stay there and have coffee in the morning on the Boardwalk. Thanks for watching guys!!!

Stinks that the pastrami wasn’t great bc I love a reuben. I think I would prefer corned beef over pastrami (though my mom used to make them with both). Sam’s Italian sandwich looked really good! At least the desserts did not disappoint. Still need to check out Boardwalk 😅 the list never gets shorter.
Even with the pastrami not being the best, Jay still liked the sandwich. Such a cute spot and I NEED to stay at The Boardwalk now.
I miss Ample Hills Creamery at boardwalk. I rate ice cream a 10 😊

My family and I are going to Disney World on August 21st-25th, and I hope that the theme parks are not that busy.
Yes, but Florida kids are going back to school soon. It's really hard to determine crowd levels since the pandemic, I a lot of people are making up for lost time and traveling.
