      I’m a trucker but it’s a choice to be a trucker. Folks get into for the money & start living above their means. We do also have lots of regulations & the market is saturated with folks whom are required to understand English but can’t which needs to be fixed. We live in a Dog eat Dog world in this industry. Brokers take 20-40% of the money without any repercussions also.

    @SuperBigblue19 Год назад +44

    They'll find out everything is leased out and nothing is owned by the people who run the company itself. If there's no assets & the owners have fled the country as an IC you can waste time & money to sue the company and get a judgment but it won't mean much without any assets & a list of creditors. And secured creditors get paid first.

      @@seanburdelik5216it's not the drivers taking cheap freight...its the fact that too many drivers are in the market....in a recession the amount of loads drop (people are not spending/buying) thus much less freight to move...dont judge drivers for taking cheap loads...that could be them just trying to put food on the table...when the economy picks up agsin, there will be more freight and the rates will go up once the amount of freight exceeds the number of drivers...learn the cycle and plan accordingly...its not rocket science...

    I worked for Celadon for 10 years when they closed their doors. I was paid my last paycheck and was given $500 and a busticket to wherever I wanted to go.
    I went and started a lease with DART and just paid off my truck and I own it now.
    I tried to file for unemployment and was told I didn't qualify and in order to recieve any assistance they wanted me to fill out 5 job applications a week.
    As a driver you can get a job anywhere in a heart beat but I didn't want to make a hasty decision over the Christmas holidays.
    I just laid low til my money ran out...then went with the lease option.

      I just thought after putting 5 years of 70 hours a week I should have some sort of assistance to hold me over...but no..that goes for all the people who chose to stay home on covid benefits while we still moved the country.
      No issue now cause it was a blessing.
      I worked 3 more years and now I own my truck and I work when I want to.
      Make enough money in 4 months to not work the rest of the year.
      F the system...it's only supporting bums which is why it is failing now.

Some sold tarps, chains and binders to get enough money for a bus ride home. Thousands of trucks and loads were a bondo Ed across the country right before Christmas. If drivers left the rig at dealerships, many dealerships would bus or fly them home. Customers and product end users were screwed because they didn’t get the product the paid for.

    You can't do anything , it would be a civil case , and all they have too do is file bankruptcy and then nobody gets paid . They also can lie and say they didn't get paid for the loads so they can't pay the drivers . Trucking is a game of trust , and a game of risk .

You have no choice but to wait a year or two and will likely get 25 to 30 cents on the dollar. On a Good Note everybody is hiring truck drivers. You boys and girls need to cut your loses with this outfit.
