Thanks. Could you link a spreadsheet or document summarizing the numbers? I would be great to have that to look at all together. If you want, I could even make a few nice charts and send them to you from the data.
I don’t disagree however moderately equipped has been a moving target. Not too long ago that just mean power windows and door locks, and maybe cruise control and ABS.
Ram, like all Stellantis divisions heading into bankruptcy, were ordered by the just fired Stellantis CEO to significantly increase corporate profits by: 1. Switching to the cheapest lowest quality parts, remove essential parts such as engine oil dip sticks, replace superior safer 3 color tail lights with 2 color tail lights, etc. and even going so far as removing exterior metal sections in exterior body panes such in tailgates replaced with cheap plastic inserts that are unsafe in crashes, shake, rattle and can leak water. 2. The fired CEO laid off 40,000 employees at the same time increased assembly output with less workers and relocated key USA assembly plants to Mexico. The net results are unacceptable bad quality assemblies, cheap parts that fail, shake, rattle, leak water and air, etc. 3. The final proverbial “nail in the coffin”, the fired CEO required major unjustifiable MSRP price increases for unacceptable poor quality vehicles on all levels leading to record high dealer inventories at Ram, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler: “No one wants a vehicle the dealer needs to fix and/or replace multiple parts and issues before its delivered to the customer” -Stellantis employee.
Just a point of interest; the Tacoma sales are down 17% (USA) whereas the Frontier sales are up 17%… any correlation? It does seam that the Tacoma quality is down which has sent practical buyers towards the Frontier which is actually a decent truck. Perhaps Canadians will catch on to the great value the Frontier is as well in the next year.

Wow, Ford hit the nail on the head with the Maverick! People still want affordable decent size utility vehicles. I wonder if other manuf will take notice.

I think the Maverick has also captured a solid niche in fleet and commercial sales markets. It seems to ride the small form factor and efficiency that many businesses have been wanting for years. Kudos to Ford!

As far as the Nissan Titan my local dealer (only 1 in 100 miles radius) will not discount them one bit. Also, the prices and interest rates are not consumer friendly right now.
Imo used 2020 or newer Titan XD pro4x fully loaded is the HERO pickup truck for my budget. Very capable hauler + off roader and reliable NA V8 for the price of a new mid size truck. And my final point, it is more american, production wise, than the usual big 3 manufacturers. Were made in Mississippi.
Ford seemed to really struggle getting Rangers out in first two quarters of 2024, wonder how many people ended up buying something else during that time.
Just switched from a loyal RAM customer to Ford. It had nothing to do with the V8, or anything like that. They refused to honor their warranty. Their trucks are too expensive to have no warranty, and when my rack and pinion went out at 900 miles (no wreck or anything), they refused to fix 100% of it. Let's see if Ford can do better. 2024 tremor.
I had to pause the video when you said small gains for GMC. A 10% increase on that number is 30,000 trucks. If I multiply that by $80,000 Canadian that comes to $2.4 billion. It all depends on perspective, but I don’t consider that small gains. I may be off by a bit but $80,000 Canadian sounds like a pretty average price.
Interesting in the Tacoma vs Frontier sales in Canada. The Tacomas are flying off the lots but Nissan Canada will not budge on incentives for even the remaining 2024 Pro 4X's (with the smaller infotainment screens). Their pricing is very close to the Tacoma but the resale is so much worse on the Frontier. It's very likely a better truck and is underrated but the consumer shouldn't have to take the hit on resale which speaks to inventories of 2025's which haven't budged since they arrived in October.
I hope Nissan doesn't ditch Canada again for a truck, as those numbers are down quite a bit. I miss the Titan up here, and like Toyota, they were always just a smidge behind for technology, but they were solid pickups.
The Frontier is priced badly up here. I think if it was more in line with US pricing (in comparison to the competition) it would sell a lot better. The truck itself is great.
Glad to see the Maverick carving out its space! Once Ford starts to offer the FX4 on the hybrid and possibly a PHEV it will have a bit of everything in one truck.
…and really, they still have no competition in the compact market. Where is Toyota, GM or Dodge? Also, it will be interesting to see if Honda toughens up the Ridgeline along the lines of their new Passport.
Never understood why GM doesn’t combine the Sierra and Silverado trucks. You’d think they’d like to have that title of selling the most. Big marketing tool for Ford
The problem with sales numbers is that everyone in the boardroom expects to see numbers grow over the past year. They can't expect that, as it's not realistic. Two years ago may have been booming, while last years sales appear to have slumped. But overall, the company is still making money. It's all about averages and profits. If the company is still doing profits, then year to year sales numbers are meaningless. You would have to devour the competition, and put one Auto maker out of business each year, if you expect to have continuous sales numbers going upwards.
Interesting how brand loyal people are. Ford has had reliability issues since it started with the 4.6 and 5.4, When that didn’t work they came up with a worst idea. The ecoboom. And let’s not even start with the 6.0 and 6.4 powerstroke. If it wasn’t for brand loyal customers the super duty would be dead a long time ago.
Ram sales are down for 2 reasons. 1) ridiculous prices and 2) dropping the Hemi for a totally unproven Hurricane engine that gets worse mileage than the V8
The complicated and confusing structure to GM is because of the power the dealer network has over the manufacturer. The GMC / Buick / Cadillac dealers want to keep GMC as a truck because historically the Buick and Caddy buyers would get a GMC if they needed a truck and they are loyal (repeat) customers. So GM cannot roll the sales together because they are different brands and different dealer networks. I know it doesn’t make sense, but GM is losing hundreds of millions of dollars every year by not folding GMC into Chevrolet. But that allows the dealer network to make tens of millions. 😂 The question is, would it be worth it to GM to re-align their brand and risk massive layoffs and closures of GMC dealers to try and grab the top sales spot? The fear is that GMC buyers would jump ship to Ford or Toyota instead of getting a Chevrolet truck.
Tesla doesn't break out Cybertruck sales like all the other companies do. They lump Cybertruck in with Model S and Model X sales, so the exact number of trucks sold is a mystery. In 2024, Tesla delivered 85,133 "Other Models" (Model S, Model X and Cybertruck) to the market. Most estimates I have seen say that's probably between 35,000 and 50,000 Cybertrucks. But since they choose not to offer specific sales numbers, we didn't include it in the video.

And yet people are still buying them.

Well clearly we can afford more than we think, looks like millions of people are buying them.
When you say "sold" do you mean sold to the dealer from the factory or is that sold to a customer from the dealer?
The world "sold" refers to vehicles sold to consumers.
