The resilience is one thing but the ability to come out of a near miss that could have been so much worse, brush it off and continue with training is what really gets me. How does that not wreck your confidence with the next jump? Parkour is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. The mental fortitude to go this far is unbelievable

Dom seems like such a chill dude, kinda makes me queasy when he talks about the injuries that have made a lasting impact on him, like that ankle twist or the concussion. Take care of yourself man! So much respect for your skills, want ya to live long and comfortable.
I remember your 2021 run of dropping absolutely monstrous bangers... It was the most rapid up-levelling the hobby has seen - and it wasn't so much about you progressing skill wise, It was all mentality and application - you just unlocked a perspective and confidence in approaching obstacles that were so huge but you had the experience and science to break them down. You spent more time in the air and upside down over those months than you did upright! I'm really glad you're still here and talking to us.
It’s often times the lower stakes sends and even just casual practicing when injuries are worst. When you’re prepping for something really big and scary, your fear really makes you prepare yourself well for it before you’re ready, so it’s less likely that you’ll fuck up. But it happens!
You never know when something is going to 'go wrong’. The only broken bone I've had was from from a jump on undulating ground between two (commercial) ski runs, but I have walked away from a 2000 ft fall plus an avalanche; but then again I have had to say far well to many a fellow adventurer. If you love it , do it
Gnarly! That second one is always hard to watch. Credit for putting that up. Storror actually removed their compilation a couple of years ago (probably for good reason as it was pretty gruesome) Toby's teeth in the seesaw was, you could feel it.
i think that really is true, that your bails are more what you're known for, but i think that's only because a) you fucking send it and it's a beautiful thing to watch, and b) that outrageously keen aerial awareness means 99 outta 100, the bail itself is some impressive movement and body memory
Full recovery is an illusion, your young body just writes cheques your old body has to pay for. I personally know several "semi-pro" motocrossers and few other x-sport freaks...It gets rough past your 30s and really bad past 40s. Neuropathy, memory problems, endless surgeries, times spent just immobilized, doing physiotherapy etc. I'd get it if they got rich doing it but really its just seems they had really fun hobby for 10-15 years at the expense of the next 40-60 years.
Don’t get me wrong Dom is literally within a league of his own when it comes to sheer commitment and follow through, but it’s undeniable he’s conditioned his body slowly over time to withstand trauma, impact, and threshold for pain. I’d suggest at very least a modern day helmet designed specifically for the sport but even I could see that being a hinderance for all parkour purists. In any case, much love from NYC, no one deserves the success more than Dom!
Super human not just in your ability to take on these challenges but to fail so horribly and yet still manage to get up from all of them but to then say i'm fine and come away with a smile even when you are taken straight to hospital.......truly Super human! I for one salute you Dom for pushing the limits of what is or isn't possible

I totally understand the motivation to do this stuff. I used to love running down mountainsides and used to dream of just bouncing of the rocks, but now I think of the incoherent guy with the brain injury, living out his life in adult dipers.
You've been one of the most consistent parkour people over the past couple of years. I've enjoyed watching you push yourself as you explore your craft. Keep up the hard work, and stay safe. 🙏
How did I make it to the end?! My stomach was screaming NOOOOOO the entire video but I went ahead and liked it anyway because you certainly deserve it for not shying away from owning your mistakes and making a video about it. Not easy, considering how brutal the internet can be. Cheers, Dom!
I watched 95% of these as they were released over the years. No lack of the 5 Ds - Desire, Drive, Discipline, Dedication, Determination. You sir most certainly are about that life.
I have no idea how you do this - but I guess your experience is what saves you when you can see it going pear shaped and you can adjust. Either way, keep having fun and take care of yourself.
The ability to emerge from these episodes unscathed or relatively unscathed is a testament to this way of training - obviously you're much tougher than what we think of as the average human. Certainly better able to fall, roll, absorb impact, etc. But also tougher. This is some primal shit from a time when people had to run and jump, fight, and hunt and worry about getting away quickly or being eaten by a tiger or something.
I am a little late to the video but the thing I love about Parkour is the ability to fall in the stupidest and funniest ways, not get hurt and people stare in shock and confusion wondering how you're still alive. Love the video keep up the good work Dom!

The best advice for an injury is to get ice onto it for the first 24hrs - the sooner after it happens the better. After that, you need to heat it. So the idea is to keep the blood away from the injury for the first 24hrs to minimise the damage and then bring the blood back after 24hrs to help the healing process. The difference this makes to recovery is like night and day. You minimise all that internal bleeding that looks like bruising. One more piece of advice for healing is to not be a smoker - smoking seriously damages your ability to heal besides all the other bad things it does. Just some good advice for longevity Dom.
Dude I just pray your luck never runs out. Your strength and balls are the stuff of legend, but man, like missing that rock on the car park dive for example, a couple of inches the wrong way and I don’t want to think about what happens…. Dom please do take even better care of yourself especially when you fail! We can't lose you and longevity is important! I hope you take loads of silica, MSM and collagen!!! Stay safe and take more time to heal proper. You can still practice the mental side while taking a break from the physical aspect! Love and healing mojo to you! I just had my own epic fail running into a spiraling downwards to the right garage in the rain in NYC. I had 3 bags in my left hand and a plastic bin container for my vitamins in my right hand I put my heel of my hightop on the steel grate aiming to the left, as the garage turns quickly down to the right and I felt like I slipped on ice! The grate sent that right foot to the left as I flew face forward towards the ground and hit the corner of my container with my sternum and right hand on the ground, splayed but the impact on that container and the ripping of the muscles from the angles and downward spiral trajectory is still hurting now!!! I got up and was fine and thought I dodged a bullet and didn't smash my face, but 2 days later it all set it, and by the end of the weekend my chest and face turned yellow from bruising! Unreal! All in a NYC second!!! Watch out for wet steel grates, especially when they are in a parking garage that spirals steeply downwards!!!
In the "Broken Ankle" one with Jason, I remember Dom saying that the thing that bugged him the most was going out of training just because of one Jump.
this is all pretty similar to alpine mountaineering and free solo climbing in the sense that if you do it for long enough something seriously bad will probably happen. but they don't usually show their close calls :)
