I'm somewhere in the audience there, at the back. MAX ran competitions for free tickets to all of their MAX Sessions gigs, and I won one to this session. It was just the ticket to the session itself, nothing else, and I was living in Brisbane at the time, so I got up early that morning, flew down to Sydney and made my way into the city centre, and then hung around the city until the session (which I think was about 11:00am or so.) The session was absolutely fantastic, and despite being over 16 years ago is something I still remember very fondly. The band went well over time, I think they had a 2 hour slot and ended up taking almost 3 hours, and that was trimmed down to a one hour show on MAX. This song still sends shivers up my spine. Thank you JBT, thank you for being so amazing.
@TheEditingShop I think you've missed the point. This is meant to be an emotional and beautiful song that you just sit there, listen to, and appreciate. He wasn't trying to engage with the audience at all. Trust me - If John butler wants to put on a crowd-pleasing performance - John Butler WILL put on a crowd-pleasing performance!
comment dire humm il est le maitre il est wouah il arrive a vous enmmener dans des sentiments de paix et d'amour c'est un artiste magique et vraiment ca fait du bien d'avoir un chanteur avec une mentalité de respect :) cette chanson la est ... parfaite
@TheEditingShop ohhhh.... my mistake. I read it quickly and thought you meant "That performance, compared to their others was the worst i've ever seen." but you were refering to the guy at the start... In that case - i completely agree. I was thinking the same thing. Seeing them in London? That'll be amazing! I've seen the JBT 3 times now. Never gets old! :D
yeah, this is good but I was lookin for the studio version too... bought sunrise over sea years ago and it got given away and scratched.. brings back memories of driving brisbane, alice, adelaide, mel, syd and all inbetween in 10 days.
TheEditingShop That compare, is the one and only Paul Hester. Crowded House Drummer. That is how he has always spoken. At the time he was battling depression and took his own life the next year.
Who's the guy talking? He says he got drums, so he plays in a band. Which? :) I'D like to check out! :) I really dunno who he is. But his accent (the Australian accent :) ) rules :)
Damn I miss live music and music clubs.

I love this song, but it makes me sad for some reason :/
2:20 .. I don't mind the introduction or the story. It's just that I come here to listen so much that I know that part by heart as well, by accident.
