Princess Diana also wore Hermes 24 Rue Faubourg I absolutely love bal a versailles the vintage stuff is soooooo good Tabu was an awesome fragrance back in the day now it's rubbish it bears no resemblance to the original formulation I personally love the older style scents because I love powdery aldehydic fragrances & used to wear joy by Jean Patou in my 20s I've just bought a vintage bottle of sublime by Jean Patou thanks for the video loved it❤❤❤
The movie star Debbie Reynolds mentioned in her memoir that her favorite was L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci. In addition to her fabulous career she was famous as the mother of Carrie Fisher, and wife of singer Eddie Fisher. Eddie left her for Elizabeth Taylor, after his best friend and Elizabeth’s husband Mike Todd died. Debbie was America’s sweetheart and the world was outraged!
LOL Quelques Fleurs is not low price these days. It is just as expensive as it always has been. Love that fragrance though, been wearing it for years and it never smells old or dated. I get complimented all the time on it.
This is a great subject to cover. I've worn a few of these perfumes over the years from Shalimar to Tabu and, whilst I have Chanel No. 5, I usually prefer the scents of Coco Mademoiselle when I am out: it has a softer and more romantic fragrance with more rose than aldehyde.
I have always admired Audrey Hepburn since I was a little girl. When the shops re opened a few weeks ago here in Australia, I went on a “ perfume sniffing trip” and I wrote down all the ones that I liked in my wish list. I remember the one that Audrey wore was one of my fav , I forgot what it smelt like , then you mentioned there is pear in the fragrance , I guess I’m really loving perfume that has pear note in( love Chloé edp, j’dore by Dior, juicy pear by the body shop ) awesome content as always . And btw, not sure if this was worn by any celebrities, I bought Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia a few months ago during lock down , and I absolutely love it. It’s such a big bottle (100ml) for $20
Just found your channel. Really helpful especially as we can’t get out at the moment due to lockdown. Trying to choose a new fragrance is a mine field for me and I never blind purchase. Your vids explain the scent really well.
I use Chanel n 5 and the original Shalimar... I am 39 years old.... does that make me old fashioned? Hehehe gets me lots of compliments anyway... Shalimar was an acquired taste, love the dry down...
I am 53 have worn a few of these over the years, these days I prefer Coco Chanel, Shalimar Souffle. I wore Linderdit today, my partner commented how nice it was & I told him the story of Audrey & it being forbidden . 💕 Great intereasting content.
This was a great vid. The only creed I like is Fleurissimo. It’s not because of Grace Kelly, I just like it best. I actually liked love in white but the feedback I got from other people is that it did something weird on my skin. So no more love in white.
Chanel No 5 was my signature scent when I was in high school back in the seventies. What we have now is a pale comparison to what I wore back in the day. Similar smell but lacking in depth. There was this magic, sadly no longer there...
I know! It was my signature in the 90's. The drydown, the deep deep drydown was heavenly. Even vintage ones are a little wird because they go slightly off. I have a 60's parfum and an 80's EDC but they're both not what I remember.
They reformulated all Chanel fragrances. Coco was my ride n die signature scent. It was an abomination indeed! Chanel 5 eau premiere gives me bad headaches.
Great video! Yes, this was missing, thank you so much for your researches! About Quelques Fleurs it is costly of you can find it! So different likes around the smells with the change of time.. Now everything is lighter.. I guess wearing these classics nowadays we would get headache.. Thank you for your video Soki, bless you!!

Wonderful video and gorgeous woman. I love all of Chanel's perfumes. Some people complained about Coco Mademoiselle and Gabrielle not being Chanel DNA enough and too much adapted to popularity standards and other already existing similar perfumes. But I Love all of them. I'm wearing Gabrielle tonight and it's so strong and powerful I love it. Coco Mademoiselle is fantastic too and it's interesting that it's the most popular maybe people noticed its energy and aura clearing capacities. It works like a puja.
@@genbrown4942 Yesterday I was wearing Gabrielle Chanel but I have it in perfume oil version form because I stay away from all alcoholic solutions in general. My oil is from Quality Fragrance Oils I only have the sample roller bottle you can get those for about 8 dollars each they have a huge collection of designer perfumes that they imitate in oil form which is fantastic. So far QFO are my favorites. I have not smelled Essence from Chanel yet. Today I'm wearing Bulgari for women it's an older perfume this one also in oil form as version but from another company which makes imitations it's very good as well.
I own a big bottle of bal a Versailles and Joy, iconic perfumes, absolutely legendary. So glad I added Joy to my collection as it was recently discontinued 😭🥰🌠💞💞💞
Hi Sophie ! I've an idea of video. Could you do a review on all the "Flower by Kenzo" Range ? There are so many, And I don't have any idea of what are the differences between all these fragrances 😅. Thank you for this chanel, that's a lot of work, But it worth it. XOXO !🥰
In the late 80’s I used to wear L’Interdit. I think even then it had been reformulated. Wish I could smell the original! Might investigate the new formulation. * I lucked out finding an almost full bottle of vintage Bal de Versailles (the bottle is definitely from the 60’s with a damaged spritz)- at my local thrift store for $4 Canadian dollars. A major score! Still smells good- and yes powerful by today’s standards.
So glad you did this video! I keep missing your notifications (yes, I rang the bell 🤷🏻♀️), so I’m catching up on your recent videos now! This was a lovely, informative video. I was hoping Guerlain’s Vol de Nuit might get a shout out. I think Katherine Hepburn wore it, and it’s one of my favorites, although I understand it’s a mere shadow of its former self now. Your eyes, btw, are almost Liz Taylor blue/violet! At least in this video. Gorgeous! Hope you are well!

Very interesting but Dorothy Dandridge wasn't the first black woman nominated for an Oscar, Hatty McDaniels won that accolade for "gone with the wind".
