A few things: You could also use this as a sling bag by attaching the peak design quick release strap. The bag has side handles so you can use this as a stand alone bag as well. So you would only have to open once. I see what you’re saying by just getting a camera back pack, you would only have to open once, but for me I envisioned myself using this as an organizational cube in my carry on pelican case while traveling. Many ways you can use it. At the end do what works best for your specific needs.

I understand u can put it inside a normal duffel or backpack, but isn’t it hard to open a bag twice?
A few things:
You could also use this as a sling bag by attaching the peak design quick release strap.
