Splunk is a common tool, but rather than zeroing in on a particular tool, play around with them all. Learn the concepts. From a penetration testing perspective, we have to learn new tools quickly and how to defeat them. If you end up working for an organization, they should train you on their tool stack.
hello REBECCA , can you upload video related to your subjects . semester wise...and please talk about that,, if possible. and you should make another vlog channel that would be best ...
I've found out about splunk and elk through high school but I never paid close attention to it until now! I'm probably going to take a deeper look at it now.
I am currently looking for an intern for this Winter because I finished up my first year of college this year. I am currently working towards my A+ and getting fundamentals down. At the moment I know the basics of AD, Wireshark, troubleshooting computers, a little about troubleshooting networks, and currently setting up a home lab that deals with AD, analyzing traffic and things like that. Would you have any other advice for me since I am only in my first year of college? Do you think I know a lot for just finishing up my first year in college?
hey i see your question. i believe the degree will pay off for you in the long run. I f you dont believe me chech out the video on my channel where i chronical how i got my start in CyberSecurity
You should check out WGU! You even get vouchers to take certification exams (i.e. Security+, Network+, SSCP, etc.) at no additional cost. I'm majoring in Cybersecurity, and by the time I graduate, I'll have 10 certifications!

Were you expected to know everything when interviewing and while interning? Also, was the internship intimidating?
