That “green light me then” was funny, he didn’t get the reaction he hoped for
?
The technical psychological term I think you’re referring to around 24:00 is “Learned Helplessness”
Yep, the installment of that I feel Kanye and Destiny are washing over heavily.
People don’t just choose slavery, even if they outnumber the slave owners. Slaves came to this country where there was a legal system making sure they couldn’t be free. Slaves outnumbered the owners, but the owners had weapons, law and societal enforcement. Slaves are shown what happens to those who try and escape, ie torture, and with that fear others don’t and teach theirs to no escape either. Most slaves didn’t get tortured, BUT they know that it can happen to them at any given moment if they step out of line. Its doesn’t help that even if you escape the color of your skin is a clear indicator that you belong to someone. It’s not choice, it’s fear.
Is this even true tho? Weren't there plenty of slave revolts?
@@dumdude1083 yup totally was. This is propaganda to make seem like we enjoyed ourselves while we we're enslaved. All those crazy reports of slave owners r@p3 mothers and wife's. Nah not true
Yes. So you know how big corps bring in speakers to shift the employees mindsets and hopefully be more efficient? Look up “the willie lynch letter and the making of a slave”. There’s a whole process to making the physically enslaved unaware of there place in the world, genuinely. You do things such as create house slave positions, treat certain slaves better, fornicate with the slaves wives all in order to turn the slaves against each other instead of the white man. Imagine how easily you could persuade someone with no education and access to a grand total of 0 books to be mad at another slave for having to set up a dinner table instead of picking cotton. Gotta remember it was like 300 to 1 slaves to whites, they had to create drama to distract the slaves from the fact they were actually mad at the owners
@@dumdude1083 that, I don’t know. I’m sure there probably were plenty. I just thought this is what he was trying to say.
“90% of Kanye’s fans are white”

Here goes white supremacy Destiny trying to make sense of calling slavery a choice.
And if you listen to the full context, what Kanye was saying is that the victims of slavery were basically chump for not just killing themselves. It’s a position Candace has said before, and that’s who Kanye got it from.
And no, it’s not justifiable. That’s like finding out someone was raped at gunpoint and saying it was their choice because they didn’t just fight to the death instead of submitting.
Lol cry about it
No, it is perfectly justifiable. Your POV is what I would say of other people, that I don't know anything about and I want to be nice to. But If it was my group of people in that situation you bet I would think of your POV as literal poison against us becoming free. Accepting the situation simply means you get genocided and exterminated, I would simply not accept that "hey, you can't blame them because you're not supposed to judge them!" You bet your ass if it is happening to me and my people I will judge the fuck out of them to get them to wake up and fight back so we can survive, your POV seems insane to me in this context, like, you're saying you should accept it?

Passive resignation is one term. Also, for those who are interested, look into "conditioned hopelessness". This is a psychological term for a person who has learned not to fight back or try because of a history of indiscriminate punishment (i.e., "mental slavery" in the sense of passive resignation).
Guys it’s so easy to see what Kanye is saying when he said slavery is a choice
10 seconds later omg i hate having to translate what Kanye might mean about this statement but here’s the most charitable way I can come up with on the spot that makes him seem way more nuanced than the idea that Kanye literally thinks the slaves could’ve just ran off and stopped it.
Which they fuckin did, and they revolted and they advocated for this thing called abolition which was being fought for by former slaves and freed black men lmao.

He didn’t say blacks chose to be slaves, but he did say that black people’s minds are enslaved and because of that they chose slavery for 400 years. To me, it’s the same. It implies a choice while ignoring the actual circumstances. He’s trying to say black people could have freed themselves sooner if they “freed their mind” sooner, which is an equally stupid take.
How can Kayne be so concerned about Black influences being used as a commodity but then go on Tucker Carlson's show? Tucker will commodify his influence more than any company ever would and Tucker could potentially peddle it for much more nefarious or dangerous purposes. There are sparks of good ideas from Kanye but he's heading in a direction that could be much more destructive to society than anything the Liberals are doing. He's interesting, I'll give him that. Lol.
Cuz he's conservative and believes the same stuff they do
What's more dangerous and destructive than changing reality itself which seems to be the road these new age liberals are going down with identity politics and gender ideologies, basically trying to destructive life as we know amd manipulate everyone to certain agendas and if that doesn't work use fear tactics such as losing their income and being ostracized....you make Tucker sound like the boogy man while also downplaying what the left are doing.
It’s the same way Libertarians will make a lot of salient critiques of government but then provide the most dipshitted solution. Kanye will accurately identify issues but scapegoat a group/person, or create an outlandish solution.

Yup, add that to his delusional tendencies and he's the prime target for the infinite conspiracy rabbithole, such as the JQ.
Same
I think that was true at one point, but there is definitely a level of delusion here that can't be ignored.
Any sources for that statement about slavery in America not being as bad? Ngl seems pretty crazy to state that 🤷♂️
The slave comment was in the context of 400 years of slavery. That ain’t mental slavery homie. The choice he was talking about was not to riot Haiti style.
I think that most people got the message of what kanye meant by "slavery was a choice", no he is not saying people chose to be slaves and were happy about it, but he is saying that they were slaves for so long that they did not even attempt to be free of it which goes against the amount of people working towards that in a system that oppressed that.
i dont think he meant it all in a mental aspect because he compared being a slave is the same as being a slave to desire. It implies that he is the only one helping the black community while he's very out of touch and doesnt help them up the ladder.
Kanye breaks my heart everyday, i dont want to see how his life will play out with this trajectory. i hope he gets help.
20:45 Kanye didn’t catch the fact that everyone in the black community was doing to him what slave owners were doing to slaves… wanting to “beat sense” into him for not thinking in alignment!!
hard not to like kanye
I feel like destiny is trying to give Kanye too much credit on the slavery is a choice thing in regards to actual slaves. Sure you can say they were mentally imprisoned but, that likely was not their CHOICE which is the key word Kanye uses. If it was their choice they wouldn't have tried to flee. It wasn't a well thought out point on Kanye's end and if omitted actual slaves it would have been a fine statement when he extrapolated.
the wording is bad but its pretty obvious what he meant, which is destiny's entire point. It's not giving too much credit at all, just not being a bad faith hater
Well, metaphorically speaking if you're mentally giving up, it is your choice to just let it happen. The ones who tried to escape fought back, but the majority just accepted the status quo. That's why he's correct, go read about slave rebellions in history, and compare that to how many situations of slave owners just letting them go so you can get a better understanding of why slavery is such a hot topic only in America compared to the rest of the world.
@@bovineavenger734 Pretty sure Haiti was the only successful slave rebellion dude.
@@Beelzeboogie Only one where they took over the nation, but there's plenty where they won their freedom.
@@bovineavenger734 This is such a weird way to view why people didn't fight back. As if slaves that did try to run weren't tortured or murdered. As if they weren't living in a system designed to make successfully escaping a near impossibility for most and rebellion a near impossibility because of how divided and controlled they were. Not running to their likely death instead doesn't mean they accepted any status quo.
There were people who did what they could. And when they were freed and Jim crow laws were in place and they had any semblance of a chance at fighting back they did. There's just no way to accuse people of accepting a status quo in a system that used such force and control to maintain that status quo.

That RTS game looks like some old school Command & Conquer. I know it’s not. But Im curious about what game that is. I recently found an OG style strategy game. Rusted Warfare (IOS).
It's nice to see Destiny engage in thinking about Kanye's perspective as he's saying some of the crazy and unacceptable things he does, especially in the mindset of someone who's notoriously misunderstood. Pretty much can't help but agree with Destiny's logic in that Kanye was clip chimped on a ton of occasions and while he says wildly unacceptable stuff, he isn't coming from a place of malice like many would take an easy out in assuming. Everyone is acting in their own rationale, assuming people mean the worse is an easy way of closing out possibilities of understanding. By God who wouldn't want to crack such a public case as Kanye's mind lol
Well said.
Fair points but while I agree the headlines of the mental slavery thing made it seem like Ye's intention was to tell everyone how dumb slaves were to be oppressed, it doesn't change it was the implication he made even within context. The part thats unfair to Ye is that he was there to promote the idea that mental slavery now is dumb and self inflicted, but it doesn't change the outrage he'd receive for the statement that slavery was a choice.
Genuine question. I may just have like a barrier in my mind missing, but do y’all really limit your speech to what you consider “acceptable?” I couldn’t imagine the stress of limiting what I want to communicate just because I’m worried about what someone else deems acceptable. Not trying to instigate whatsoever, but I personally find establishing a set of personal morals shifts the perspective of communication from, “idk should I say this? What will happen? Ect” to running every single thing that happens to me through a filter essentially to break down and fully understand how to respond/ proceed. Idk I may just be ultra autist but it’s actually super effective. You literally can’t be a hypocrite or backtrack because you use the same moral rationale to arrive at every conclusion
And as holes are poked in your beliefs, which they will, just adjust. So much easier to me to play a mental video game when talking than to worry about what to say lol
Nobody on this planet whats to be the bad guy unless youre an actual physchopath without emotions. The problem tho is that people love to just call someone pure evil or a phsycho just because they dont want to look at other peoples perspectives and atleast understand where theyre coming from
destiny mocking the way Tucker Carlson says “watch” took me out

WE GOIN DEATH CON 3 OVER HERE!!!
Kim, that’s a boys name
Regarding the mental slavery thing. Kanye is suggesting there was no excuse to allow slavery for 400 years which IS controversial as it downplays the conditions that allowed slavery to happen. Sure you can argue the fear is a form of mental slavery but its not like people are mad because kanye is suggesting fear was the primary factor in keeping slavery but for suggesting first that actual slaves were cowards for not rising up sooner, but also for downplaying the factors in place that made that fear very real and present during slavery. Maybe im injecting my own qualms but I felt that was the root of the backlash he recieved then.
pretty much. Destiny was being beyond charitable. Kanye DID call it a choice and basically said that black folks have carried the mentality to present times.
Kanye like many with his beliefs just parrots talking points, slavery being a choice is one of them.
Kayne was also talking about being slaves to brands, and actual slavery is partly a choice. You could always rise up and end the slavers. People rarely do that. Weve seen plenty of genocides where people mindlessly murder and enslave thier neighbors.
@@crushinnihilism theres a valid argument to be had there but to equate the false idea that all liberals are status quo sheep to cowardly slaves that wouldnt rise up despite out numbering slave owners is a bizzare and basically indefensible stance to have let alone to promote
@Xavier E have you ever realized that you were engaging in a particular behavior and have been for a long? We all do that. Ever wonder why? Ita usually like "I have no idea I just did."
Why do the poorest blacks in America spend all their money on nike and gucci? No idea. Its just a thing they happen to do. Slavery is just that. Its just the happening. Slaves couldn't been not slaves. Its just a thing they did. No reason. There were more slaves than slave masters. They could've risen up and been free, but they didnt. At some point your mind because a slave to current conditions. You go about your life not questioning it.
If after that you're still hearing slaves elected to be slaves then you're way to far gone
If youre an artist, its okay. Thats what Hitler said
The ice dens rant is god tier stoner dialouge
Obamna.
This is just incredibly sad to listen to. Whether he manages to get help or not, being in the public eye is doing insane damage to his mental health.
Lol its always that hes unwell or some bullshit. Lefty celebs are on the news saying absolutely lofty fucking nonsense endlessly and no one says they're mentally unwell - with way more clear signs than Kanye. Kanye's a full grown adult who's been mega successful in every field hes touched, but apparently isnt allowed to speak his mind without e-lefties saying hes being abused by the interviewer. Give me a break.
@Ricky Smith Ah a fellow free thinker like me
Lol the guy is a billionaire artistic genius, if anyone is living a sad life it’s you. He doesn’t need your sympathy 😂😂
@@ProgressiveConservative A billionaire artistic genius with clear mental problems being fed conservative antisemitic conspiracy. I can be sympathetic to his tragic mental state.

holy kanye
*Destiny is wrong about the "Slavery Was A Choice" comment Kanye made.* _He was talking about slavery._
1. He said 400 years. Referring to '400 years of slavery' , which is the incorrect number of years people say it lasted.
2. He also said "theres so many of y'all? it sounds like a choice". Referring to the number of slaves outnumbering slave masters.
3. It has now been revealed that TMZ even edited out his 'I love Hitler' comment (google it).
Can you ask Kanye to do an interview? It would be beautiful.
Lmfao
Kanye loves "black3d" and the owner is Greg Lansky
I still don’t understand his tweet about the Jews tho.
What part of blacks beings jews and executing deathcon 3 (not to be confused with defcon 3 ) after he wakes up, don't you understand? :P
Still confused af
death con 3
@Purple so you declare a hit out on all Jewish men women and children because of that
@Purple Maybe a better way to tweet it would have been "Im going death con 3 on all the people who are writing hit pieces on me" rather than identifying them by their religion
I swear, Kanye is gonna unwittingly end up on some youtube "science" video, measuring and comparing skull sizes with a pair of calipers....
1:00:00 he literally says influence? can't find a ranking but ya obv not market cap
Dude really is the IRL Tracy Jordon, isn't he?
Destiny deadass misunderstanding Kanye. "300 years that sounds like a choice", the obvious implication is that black folks were out there choosing to be slaves and they could have just decided not to be slaves anymore...
thats a 0 iq take. destiny is right, its pretty obvious too if you have half of a brain
Hahaha, he really used Tanya Harding as an example of excellence.
No wonder Fuentes is such a fan
Destiny, Ye said people chose to be slaves and emphasized“400 years!“ Going on to say that if you are a slave that long do you want it to be. He literally meant what he said. They wanted to be slaves because they gave up and were strong was his implication. I’ve never disagreed with Destiny so much on a take.
yeah destiny doesn't seem to know a whole lot about Kanye and it makes this video really annoying to watch lmao
@@bambiettabasterbineetheexp1209 very!! I had to bow out haha
tbf pretty sure that was when he was off his meds.
but like, did u see the full interview? he literally meant in a mental way, the clip is just hard out of context.
@@animeruinedmylife9833 Then don't use a super loaded word when you can easily create a distinction between what you mean and actual slavery (which implies ownership, not just control or influence like what he's talking about)
Wasnt the point he was making literally: "Bruh yall been dealing with this shit for 400 years? at that point thats you choosing to suffer instead of doing something to get out" you literally see that all the time in smaller scale today too, people sticking around in toxic relationships, people continuesly doing shit they know is hurting them, etc. Call it Stockholm syndrome? 400 years? you couldnt start a war, a revolution, anything? 400 years? hundreds of thousands of people? thats the point he is trying to make no? thats kind of how im understanding it.
Why is he not:holding up his contract into the cam, showing some passages, that he finds unfair.....?
