Your great on what you speciall on being specific documenting everything. I say that cause my set up is thesame but it’s proper clean at all by the shop that did it for me. Never again with that shop freaking crook!
@@AimlessJP similar in a sense of auto to manual swap. But that ATEMU I’ve never heard that before only from your video. So that might be my next big thing insted of swapping the ECU it self from auto to manual IS300 which is gonna be more complicated in the long run I think.
Bro, maybe we can all hangout one this days and maybe you can help me out or hoping that I can pick up some pointers of hooking my own ride with one? Oh yeah, mine is 01 by the way!
Im confused, when putting the clutch pedal and master did you have to cut a hole into the firewall? Never done a manual swap and my 2001 is300 is gonna be my first swap
The transmission is actually holding up pretty well. So far that car has done two drift events without any issues :) It is loud but surprisingly it is holding up!
Somehow it’s still holding up just fine. He has a few drift events done with it already in addition to daily driving the car with it and it’s still fine. We plan on rebuilding it soon though!
We used a SC300 w58 which has a longer shifter housing so the shifter was further back. Because of this, the shifter was in the factory location but we did still have to cut the front of the tunnel since the shifter is more forward and the bend on the shifter rod brings it to the oem location
hey bro you every figure out the knocking sound at 14:55 when you first started it? I just did my swap and it’s making the same noise. is it just the trans? or the solid xcessive trans mount? or what?
Tbh we aren’t 100% sure what the noise was since it did end up going away and never came back but what we believe caused it was just the trans since we know the trans was sitting outside for a few years exposed to condensation. We think it was the bearings since they are probably a corroded and that’s also why the trans whines. Did your sound go away?
@@AimlessJP i just finished today haven’t drove it yet or let it run long enough to see. It seems like a crazy vibration too. U think that’s from the solid trans mount? did it have a pretty good vibration? mine was sitting in my garage for a while with no fluid in it.
Bad main bearing in the trans. It looked like it was sitting outside without any fluid for a while so moisture got inside and corroded the bearing. After driving the car for a while, the noise definitely got a lot better but it still is there and we plan on doing a rebuild soon.
I mean he likes it more than the automatic trans lol. It still whines but hasn’t gave out yet. It is super smooth just the fact this particular trans is loud does make it a pain
Good, good! I am too, I actually got thesame trans on my swap. Like you said yes it is trash! Could have atleast picked a better one but it’s kinda like a budget build, but it’s coming along! Hey bro just wondering if maybe you can help me out with that ATEMU on mine one of this days
@@AimlessJP I know I saw your video, that is what got me into this point. Love your video brother learned something but I know I can’t be just doing that my self! Not the best when it comes to wirings. I just need help on that atemu unit. I got a 01 chassis and auto trans was swap out to w58. Just wanna get rid of that Check engine light and maybe experience that full oem potential of that motor.
I have a parts list in the description if you wanted to see all of the parts we used with links to each. After quickly adding up everything other than the W58, I ended up with a rough total of $2800. We live in an area that has an extremely high tax rate, Bay Area California, so it can be less depending on where you are. There are many parts that can be changed to save some money and many parts that can be upgraded leading to a more expensive swap, it all depends on how crazy you want to go. I hope this helps!
W swap bro, Plan on doing the same thing to mine so watching all your episodes really gave me a clear understanding. If you dont mind, Could I get your insta or something to contact you for a part list and questions when the time comes
What a homie move to hook your buddy up like that on his birthday. Good job guys that's class.
Finished manual swap as a birthday surprise is crazy, good video!
I just wanted it gone tbh
Respects! She’s a keeper bro. No way my lady would put up with my car dreams 🙃 Even asks proper questions too. Blessed fam 🙏🏽
Thanks!
He's got a good friend thats for sure

Great editing 🤍🔥 fell in love . I currently have a w58 for my IS300 just haven’t been able to get a driveshaft & little stuff
Thank you! You got the hardest part to get lol, thankfully you can get the rest with time and don’t have to stress about getting a trans anymore :)
The camera work was excellent, btw!
Thank you!

LMAO the whole time ur driving ur just roasting his car
It’s not the best car :/
Thanx man im doing the same shit to my is thanx a million

Yes since the chassis is precut on auto cars it has to be cut :/
I sure hope I can see this car drifting, maybe sometime in April. I wonder if there are any big, up and coming events around that time...
wait no way he stalled it first try
Lmao
Lots of work on this car. How is the transmission holding up? It’s very loud.
The transmission is actually holding up pretty well. So far that car has done two drift events without any issues :)
It is loud but surprisingly it is holding up!
@@AimlessJP any reason he went with a W58?
It actually was included with a deal of buying a car from a friend a while back so he just had it :/
@@AimlessJP gotcha. Best to make use of what you got.

Hey bud! So how’s your friends IS300 W58 transmission holding up at this time? I gotta replace mine but I know mine was shop error from the beginning.

@@AimlessJP oh wow! That’s great news my men! Glad to know that! I’m sure you also feeling good about your own craft. You should be proud!
Does the driveshaft fit a oem is300 diff yoke
Yes
K cool, I’m planning on doing the same swap as you when I get the money, I won’t buy a 600 dollar tranny tho😂
That was one of the dumbest things we done lol
If I buy a supra mk2 W58 is it a different bell housing
gah damn that shits loud af lol nice videos tho!
🙌🏽
🫅
It’s loud cause the fly wheel it’s a single mass
We ended up swapping the trans with another one and it’s all good now :)
18:43 these f**ing dash LEDs... why do they always start to flicker after a few months??
What did you guys do about the shifter sitting to close to the radio with the w58? Just cut the tunnel or extended it somehow
We used a SC300 w58 which has a longer shifter housing so the shifter was further back. Because of this, the shifter was in the factory location but we did still have to cut the front of the tunnel since the shifter is more forward and the bend on the shifter rod brings it to the oem location
Praying the trans doesn’t blow fast😭😭
I’m praying it does
So like how much does all of this cost???
Did you guys put a is300 tail shaft on the trans? Or sc300? That might explain the length issue with the shifter/ trans tunnel adapter
Nope it’s a full w58 from a sc300. I think the trans tunnel cover is made more for w55s since they are slightly more back than w58s
@@AimlessJP yeah you can put the w55 tail shaft on a w58 also to alieviate. but seems like it’s gonna be all good

Yeah it vibrated the car like crazy but once it cleared up after a few seconds it was fine. I don’t think it was the mount since it did go away :/
@@AimlessJP okay thanks man i appreciate it i’m gonna wire up this atemu and drive it around and see if it goes away…. hopefully lol

Bad main bearing in the trans. It looked like it was sitting outside without any fluid for a while so moisture got inside and corroded the bearing. After driving the car for a while, the noise definitely got a lot better but it still is there and we plan on doing a rebuild soon.
