    Storytime!
    Was never much of a believer. I recently hit my lowest because I'm alone in an unknown place where I simply don't belong, far from home and the only person who kept me from falling just betrayed and left me.
    Sad and Broken I searched for something, ready to change.
    I tried to find Salvation for years in something.
    I read the bible and a bunch of differnent stuff. Asian religions didn't do it for me either.
    But as soon as I got my Hands on norse mythology, like not just fan based as all those years before but rather for real reading the stories and everything, something just clicked.
    I feel more bravery than ever before, I don't feel weak or alone anymore.
    I'm currently working on a Prayer that I want to translate into old norse.
    Whoever reads this can call me crazy, I wouldn't blame anyone for calling me crazy.
    I just found something that I have been looking for for years, somwhere I belong, something I am willing to trust and believe in.

      Wether you mean the old nordic gods or the ancient roots of humanity. In either case: we decend from the same well.
      We are all branches grown on the same tree, flowers on the same bush of thorns.
      It is irrelevant wether you are born in Africa, America, Europe, Australia or Asia. Wether your skin is as white as the snow in under the borea aurealis or as dark as the fertile earth in the crescent moon valley.
      We are all children of the same big human family.
      And to try and make yourself something special flies directly not only into the face of science but also the teachings of northern folk lore, which you seem to value a lot, that tells us, that all of humanity was created by the gods, and Heimdall himself fathered and blessed all human classes there are.

      Their not ripping either off. The yggdrasil song is a old folk poem. Some people played it in song. It's always been played that way. In those times men and women had voices like that. They were both trying to make it as authentic to how the original Norse would sing it in their days.

    isn't it Grœnn

    • @FlamSparks
      @FlamSparks  4 года назад +5

      Old Norse wasn't a standardised language, and as such, many different scrips can be found. Poetic Edda is made of poems gathered from 3 different manuscripts, with 3 different scripts. The word "green" is written as "grǫn" in the Codex Regius, as "grænn" in the Hauksbók, and as "grvnn" in the lines quoted in Snorri's Edda.

      FlamSparks ó okay

    • @FlamSparks
      @FlamSparks  4 года назад +5

      It's true though that nowadays, scholars tend to use one sole standardised script, but that's a convention adopted only for the sake of understaning each other in contemporary studies of Old Norse. But even though scholars only tend to use one script, they are still aware of all the possible variants that can be found in original texts.
