Sachin sir I am really really weak in chemistry especially in organic. I watch you on unacademy. But my basics are bad.. Like really bad. At 14:52 you said that we take only positive y, because the inside term of the tan^-1 should be positive- but that can also be satisfied if the top term (2y) and the bottom term (x^2 - 1 + y^2) were both negative, why don't we consider that?

I had a doubt ....If modulus is root of x^2+y^2 and then like if y is given as iy then should it be x^2-y^2 as i^2=-1??
