    Teachers teach math in the same concept but the way explaining is interesting.

    Prof Eddie, I tried calculating the principal argument theta for z= -1 + i but my book says that it is 3pie/4 and the root is ,/2..... How is that possible?

    • @JaceGameplay
      @JaceGameplay 3 года назад +1

      You're measuring the argument in the second Quadrant, so you have to measure the longer arc, from the positive real axis to Z.
      If you look to cos theta = SQRT(2)/2, you'll get the intern angle (measured from the negative real axis to Z), not the arg Z.

      @@JaceGameplay could that modulus be coming from the origin and bisect left? Because I just see sort of a square with the 90 degree angle and I’m assuming the modulus would be a hypotenuse. There would be another 45 degree angle in which I could no think of any other option but to add that with the 90 degree angle to make 3pie/4. However that’s not the definition of a principal argument

    are you teaching complex analysis to high schoolers?

    • @jursamaj
      @jursamaj 3 года назад +2

      Complex analysis involves differentiating functions of complex inputs. This is more like complex algebra.

      this is just intro to complex numbers. complex analysis is way more cooked
