  • Harrowing scenes are playing out in Taree on the New South Wales mid-north coast with communities under water as a record-breaking downpour dumps enormous amounts of rain on the region.
The area is one of the hardest hit so far in the state’s recent flooding emergency.

I live on the Manning River here in Taree.I've never been close to a flood before, not like this. The river looks twice as wide and flowing 50-60 kph.People yesterday were standing in front of a bottle-shop,watching a Camry slowly get swallowed up,when a stir in the water caught my eye,a large black cow.The waves folded over it's head and I felt defeated not being able to help.Thought it drowned, but lucky,it found a backyard and escaped.I stopped counting at eighty, how many hay bails were surfing down stream. It's an awesome but terrible sight, there will be a lot of damage and clean-up,but still thankful for it.The last two summers here with the El Nino change-over,has bought cool wet summers rarely getting over thirty degrees,Usually stiffling near 40 degree and over, sometimes still high thirties until May.But not the last two, usually I'd kill for a snowy day or some New Zealand weather, but it's been nice, despite most Aussies here are sick of it,not me,it's such a novelty to use an umbrella here in Australia.Or wear decent looking clothes instead of shorts and T-shirt and thongs. It's kind of weird, but the bush-fires ended in December 2019,heralded in by the big wet for the last two summer seasons.,one extreme to the other, but I'd take this over the heat anytime. The creeks and rivers are flowing and the land going green,it has it's positives.Hope this is not just coastal,it'd be nice to see the farmers and fields get this, such a valuable resource and the governments give this to the Chinese instead of our own, who's side are they on ?.Anyway, spectators checking out the floods,be careful, there is a strong under-tow,I was even tempted to hit the river in a canoe, but it's death if you do,so keep safe.

On the cow, I am actually surprised to see they needed a chain to get it moving. My Grandpa let me know that if dealing with any livestock that was upset, just sing a soft tune and give it a slight tug on the rope. Grandpa was a well respected horse breaker and trainer, and whenever rough weather rolled in we were out in the barn while he would sing to keep the animals calm. Also, I hope this won't cause a lot of hate replies, but I can't understand one of the countries most respected in keeping the ecology in great condition doesn't have a better water control system when one considers that large reservoirs would greatly help firefighting in the bush.

For a bible believer you should actaully know that God said he would NOT EVER FLOOD THE EARTH AGAIN.
Please Stop preaching because your constantly saying your own theories of the bible not what s actaully says.
It's called geoengeerning and Satan is playing God. And as I said God said he would never flood. So......

      Genisis 9.11
      King James Bible
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
I love those who love God and speak truth but please stop speaking lies that will end up turning ppl against the bible because they don't know what to beleive with so many stories.

@@mmorgz6622 not only that, they said they weren't actually home when this happened. Who knows, maybe they were near the venue they were about to get married at?? They were probably unable to get back in time before it was too late. We lived in that region years ago and a trickle of a river would rise 5 metres in just hours, it became a raging torrent!

The Green mantra rears its outdated and irrelevant head again. I suggest you direct your concerns to China if you are worried about CO2 emissions. The miniscule - and ever reducing - contribution of Australia has a vanishingly small effect on CO2, even if one does subscribe to Climate Alarmism. It is also interesting to know if this rain event will be attributed to global warming, global cooling or some other, new generic scatter gun term invented to patch up the holes in the theory.

@Okie Dokie @credenza1 Is that why you Australians emit 2 x per capita co2 emissions compared to China? 16.8 metric tons vs. 8.0 metric tons. Or is your math not your strong point?
