I'm now a sparkservices customer. I purchased the blue plan and it comes with a metal router and it has two modem cards. One to connect to their network for management, the second is the internet card. Speed does vary. 30 up to 80mbs Idris around 40.. For tech netds.. I did find out that the router can do 4g or 5g,,, BUT the router may not be equipped with a 5g card. I have two 4g cards... I'm not sure if I would get higher speed with a 5g card... I will say antenna placement is everything. I have an expensive quad panel antenna. Card slot 1, mini pcie, does not help with internet speed. They are not bonded. The m.2 card is what you use for internet. This matters for how you hook up the antenna. The back left cell antennas go to the mini pcie card, the back two on the right if your looking at the front belong to the m.2 card... The antenna on the right is the main AND the other is diversity. You have to have the mini pci hooked up or you will not get online to their management system.. that's when thru pick a sim card for you.. then the second card comes up last.. I did find that if the antenna on the left of disconnected your speeds will go up... that is until it needs to do the sim again. So you do need all 4 antennas hooked up. But treat it like two separate cards even you're hooking up the antenna wires to the box. If you have a dual panel antenna connect the right side port to antenna 1, then the other to two. Leave the far left antennas as the antenna it comes with. Like your looking from the front. With A quad panel antenna Treat it like 1,2 to 1,2 and 3,4 to 3,4 You may get a better signal by experimenting..... no you cannot get into the web portal because you're leasing their equipment.
Was in the same boat as you guys until I bought a cudy home router did some magic to it and stuck an att prepaid sim in there been 4 months and I get between 15 mps to 50 depending on tower Congestion glad to see spark is still around
This video really got me to consider. I recently moved to a rural area and my current provider is straight up bad. I can’t watch any RUclips (unless its ass late in the night) Every online game is unplayable, and everything takes days to update and I’m just sick of it
It should be noted that our internet speed is only as fast as the tower can provide. I guess a good way of testing how fast your internet might be is if you can watch videos on your phone on data. If your phone is significantly faster than your wifi, then spark services would be a better option. For us, updates are still slow but it's a limitation to the area via LTE. Its significantly better than our previous provider in terms of price and reliability. -Austin
ok gonnna look into iit more how is it working for yall now..... i want wifi skittles too lmao i love skittles but can yall update how is it working???? we so need better net and specturm wont be here till april......
Spectrum installed fiber for free to our house so we are using that now. Spark was smoother in business operations and support than spectrum but spectrum is faster. -Austin
I hope ya'll can help me Tuesday morning after the holiday because I cannot get my new modem from you to work for me...get stopped by WPA2 and nothing works. Wish there were step by step directions. I can see the modem in my network and my tv but not being able to sign on.
Does anyone know how fast the 80 dollar a month 4g is? i have several routers, multiple antennas so using my own router with my own antennas that would be outside the house would be my choice as i am not in a 5g area.. Not yet anyway.
Largely it depends on your area. If you speed test on your phone, then that will give you approximately the answer. I live in the middle of nowhere and it was enough that my wife and i could game on pur PC's. Some games are more intense than others and some days online wasnt going to happen. -Austin
I mean honestly, very few places in america give you advertised speeds anyways. The only real downside was uploading videos and downloading games or iso's. Other than that, everything else worked just fine. -Austin
I just ordered the deep blue package and was just wondering what is the NAT type? Last time I used a att hotspot it was strict which forced me to use verizon
I'm gonna be real with you boss, I dont know if you can controll the NAT type from the router. When i was scrolling through the options, most of it looks like mobile options for IP configurations. Albeit, pretty advanced for most people, which is why i didnt add it to the video because many wouldnt touch it, but i dont see any NAT settings. You can play with IP zones, vlans, DMZ's, subnets, and protocols to connect though so maybe i'm just missing something. -Austin
So I am in the same boat as you guys and been considering this as an option, so are y’all still liking this and how does it work for gaming? I currently use Verizon hotspot to play a little bit of cod and have to take my console to work for updates🤦♂️so I’m definitely looking for something else lol.
Some games, it works really well and others, not so much. For example, Jessica and I can play War Thunder, Civ 6, and Warframe together. Rust will not work though. I can watch videos while she plays games, most of the time. Sometimes due to weather or temperature the speeds are just trash but I doubt that's the ISP's fault. And after using it for a couple months, the router restarts itself about once a month. Internet will get really slow and then drop out but everytime its happened to me, it takes 3 minutes ish and speeds are so much better afterwards. -Austin
@@gamingasadults9946 I may just have to give this a try since it’s really my only option that has more than 15gb of lte data. It sucks that I’m only a mile from where isp stops bc of “train tracks” and only 3miles from town. With that we do have cell towers all around us and get really good cell service. I know with Verizon I can get abt 50 mbps and around 60 latency but I only have 15gb and then it’s throttle. So I hope this option will work if it’s not throttled.
I hope it works out well for you. Hopefully you get wifi skittles like jessica and I did. I'm honestly very happy with the service provided for the price. -Austin

Can you guys help me with the port forwarding? I have the same router beamx71. I need to open ports for blackops Cold War but the port mapping screen looks different than what I’m use to. I’m not sure what goes where, and can’t find anything about this particular router, no manual or anything.
Yeah documentation for the more in depth is kind of a double edged sword: on one hand, the advanced users have what they need but on the other simpler users may get confused and go to a different product. So you should log into a browser to access the router. Default login info is on the back of the device. Go to network app, port forwarding. Here's where things get interesting. If you are port forwarding to bypass NAT, it likely isnt going to work. I dont know COD's servers IP but you will have to. Youll pull the internal devices's IP from basic info, then DHCP client list. Youll have to assign ports and protocols based on the application and default values of whatever the server is. For example, ports 80 and 440 and for web servers. Heres the thing though, if you set all of this up, then that device is configured for COD. You could just turn off port mapping anytime you wanted to do something else though. -Austin If you're still confused, hit up our discord and maybe I can walk you through it.
