I used the DXF rod for first time at Douglas Salmon Camp last year and LOVED IT! I'm a believer. Will surely be tying some of the Swingers this winter! Would love to add this rod to my arsenal!
Thank you so much for hosting all of us at Salmon Camp! The food and accommodations were top notch, the guides excellent, the comradery as good as I’ve experienced and the fishing world class. Most highly recommended!
I have watched your videos before and I learn something brand new every time! I have fly fished for most of my life, but I went on a steelhead fishing trip in Michigan this past March. It was my first time learning to spey cast. I ended up landing my personal best steelie and the largest fish out of my group of college friends who were with me.
@@DouglasOutdoors that would be epic! I'm in entertainment and this year has been epic and will take several years to recover as with so many around the world! Thanks for the great products and great opportunities!
It is a bit crazy at times. A good way to experience the river is to fish for Steelhead once the Salmon are done running. They are a lot of fun to fish and there's much less people. Thanks for watching, Ed!
Nice job Tim! Lynch and I were on the DSR last week and had a blast with the Steelies. Hoping to get back there after Veterans Day. Keep up the great videos!
Looks like a sweet fly and rod. Cheers to the team over at Douglas for bringing the people of the world to salmon camp with you guys, all the clips and photos have been sweet
My first guided fly fishing trip was with none other than Tim Flagler. He was patient and encouraging to me a beginner. Here's hoping I win this new gear. By the way my first rod was a douglas fly rod, the 9 ft 5 wt green rod.
Fantastic video on the theory of the fly construction and the DXF looks great. I just picked up the LRS 10ft 7wt yesterday to go for Great Lakes Steelhead this season. Looking forward to casting it
"I only have until noon tomorrow before I have to make the long drive home. The clock is ticking." I know that feeling all too well. That Douglas rod is able to take the fight back to the fish. Having a great net man like George by your side certainly increases your odds of landing that fish. Well done.
If I make the trip that's my usual target, but I much prefer the smaller crowds that the cold weather provides. I'm only about an hour and forty five away so day trips are very doable.
Really nice to see Tim on the river. I always see him behind that desk tying but don't get to see him fish often, thanks for the video and it looks like a nice place to fish.
This video is superb! Has me so excited to go back up to do some steelhead and salmon fishing in New York this year! Thanks to this video I’m definitely doing some Spey fishing when I go!

Tim Flagler is an amazing dude - humble, generous and down to earth. The end.
Can I get an amen? 👍🧡
Tim is by far my favorite tie-er. Always brings great style and practicality

Great video. Nobody is better than Tim!
Tim is awesome! Thanks, Michael!
Beautiful fly and I like that it keeps your options open with the ability to catch additional species.
Thank you, Marco. I agree. It was well thought out.
Very good description on designing a Salmon fly and then showing it in action. Rod looks like an easy caster too. Tim's hook set looks very efficient.
Any hook set that can be done with a beer in one hand is a winner 🤣👍😁 Thanks, Jack!

We love Tim. He is definitely one of our favorite people. Thanks, Ryan!

Looks like an awesome day!! Would love to fish there someday! Cheers!
It's a bucket list trip for a lot of people. Thanks, Tholen!
Fantastic video. Need to plan a trip to the Salmon River soon.
Yes you do! Fall fishing for Steelhead is a lot of fun with a lot less people on the river.
More videos like this please. Great content with Tim. One of my favourite fly guys. 🙌🏻🇨🇦😎
Duly noted! Thanks for watching, Thomas.
Persistence pays off! Never done it, but that looks awesome!
Fishing is a great metaphor for life, isn't it? Thanks for watching, zangus90!

@@DouglasOutdoors I really enjoy fishing the lower Niagara River, Lakes Erie and Ontario tributaries in the late fall / winter for steelhead.
That's awesome! The tug is the drug!

Loved that hookset!
Salmon be like, "Am I joke to you??" 🤣😁👍 Thank you, Alexander and good luck!

I was first introduced to fly fishing by my dad!

Noted! Thanks, Michael.
I haven't made the drive to fish for kings in a couple years but this video has me itching to go.
The Steelhead are fun too once the Salmon have made their run. Plus the river isn't nearly as crowded. Thanks, Jonathan!
