- Here is one of the great Toronto fishing spots for bass, pike, carp and drum. On this day my old friend DJ Quantum aka "Spanky" or " Spanks" joins me on this adventure. He loves being on the camera and off the camera shooting, lol. A special thanks to Spanks for the great work! Taro I fish there alot and never had a problem. I always just explain that the Toronto Port Authiroity supports fishing and if they have an issue the MNR has a boat parked beside the police on Spadina there by Amsterdam Brewery. Its funny I fished one time during a concert at echo beach and was anchored. Caught some nice bass. Its better to fight then to let the mall cops win.
Been dealing with this stuff my whole life in the six. People have to remember “the water is ours” to share and enjoy!

The lake was warmer than normal this so I think on average there were more smallmouth than usual

Love getting lucky shots! Spanks would let me cast so we could get the shot. He was 💯 right. It is way harder to capture that shot than catching them on a line. Sometimes it’s nice just to watch em rather than catching them. But both is awesome tho. 😂

Ride in a canoe that is afloat on the lake water at the official distance from the land and do fishing from there and Ontario Place policies won’t apply, when following the city marine laws.

Respect for cleaning up the lures. I Live in Vaughan and have been wanting to fish that area for bass and pike.
There’s definitely a lot of crossover with nature and humans when you’re urban fishing. It’s really cool how some man made structures and urban influences become habitat for wildlife. It’s so cool how the fish adapt to “ unnatural stuff and could be actually helpful to them. But it’s definitely a fine line though... 👊

It’s so weird how so many don’t realize that the water is for the public.
Source: Work at Ontario Place, the only place that's not allowed for fishing is the Marina areas which is where they were until they went into the lagoon area which is perfectly fishable. Anywhere along the coast past the Cinisphere and in the lagoons is fine just not by the moored boats.
It’s all so confusing 🤷
