So for those wondering why it was ruled incomplete, there is not enough definitive evidence to show that the v tech receiver came down with the ball, yes it looked like he had it but so did 3 other players, a player must maintain possession through he ground, and unfortunately for him he landed on other players who were also laying out of bounds meaning technically he was also touching out of bounds on his way down while the ball and its possession was still being determined. Had it been clearly who exactly had the ball when he came down then it wouldn’t matter so much on if he landed on someone whole as out of bounds, cause I do believe that even tho Miami ripped it out, it took long enough to rip it out that possession would be established and the receiver would be considered down by contact in the end zone for a touchdown. BUT, unfortunately possession was just too unclear of who had the ball exactly until the last moments, yes it looks like a Miami players ripped it out of the v tech hands which would imply vetch had possession in the first place, but at the same time like 3 deferent players made initial contact all at the same time and maintained that triple possession all the way until they hit the ground where all the bodies just meshed into a pile where it was very difficult to see who had the ball. And then finally at the last second it appears that tech had it and Miami ripped it out after a while of being on the ground which would constitute a catch but again it was too unclear to see who initially came down with it if it was the tech player initial and it was all him or did he share possession until that last second. Because if he shared possession with the other players who all fell out of bounds he would then be ruled out as well. This is about as close as you can get in terms of determining a catch or not. They ruled it a touchdown on field just in case if they wanted to go with the ruling on the field but there was just not enough evidence to support the idea that it was a catch so they had no your option to default to it wasn’t one. It’s that too unclear and too damn close. Crazy good game tho.

The player didn’t have full possession on his way down, and the Miami player was touching him while out of bones, which makes it an incomplete path. The problem is is that they called it a touchdown on the field and video evidence reverse that.
