- After a weekend of music, lessons, and lu’au, Cyril and a small group of friends set off to hike to the waterfall. This was not going to be just a hike up and back. It included guitars, video cameras, and a tape recorder, wrapped in industrial black plastic bags.
On arriving at the waterfall, Cyril immediately perched on the large boulder at the base and repeatedly sang to his muse. From where he sat, Cyril could feel the spray and mist from the main part of Hi‘ilawe Falls as it dropped the 1,300 feet after its initial drop of 150 feet.

Wow, this is so beautiful, my dear Cyril! Not only do I get to hear your soul stirring voice once again, but to have THE Hi'ilawe waterfall in the background was totally breathtaking. This video brought joyful tears to my eyes. Mahalo, mahalo for this lovely gift.

Best pool I ever swam in in Hawaii. So clear. Took Hannah up there. Mark Hannum lives just before the huge pool you have to wade through to start the hike. Heard the legend about, if a rock is removed from the pool, all the rocks will scream, because they were married by the gods..
