- A nice cloudy and cool day meant it was time to fish, I stayed very close to home and killed the afternoon by first going to the Manayunk Canal to try to get some flathead bait and also to catch some bass, the carp were very active and I gave them a shot but couldn't land any. From there I went to the Schuylkill to try for some daytime Flathead action and caught 4 small Flatheads, missing a few more. That got boring so I tried for smallies however that was also very slow and I could only land one small fish. I tried one more spot which was a total bust, however all in all I caught some fish and didn't drive more than 20 minutes from home, I have neglected my local fisheries recently and tend to fish the ocean much more than I do freshwater but when the cloud cover moves in you have to take what you can get and just enjoy being outside while not dripping sweat.
That is exactly where I fish when I go to the Manayunk Canal. Great video as always.
I used to work in one of the buildings behind you. I used to look out the window and wonder if any of the guys doing some fishing caught anything big. Many times I was stuck inside the office and envied the guys on boats or the banks just fishing during the day. Good stuff man.
Hey, I am a new fisher I fish in my local pond around 2 times a week I usually I catch small 1-2 pounder carp and some small bull heads, anyways you taught me how to do lots of things in fishing thanks
Love your Phillie show been there done that my home stomping grounds plus the mountains.
Seriously Sea-Money...you are the most awesome channel on the Tube. Thanks for everything and keep uploading.
I grew up fishing on Flat Rock Rd (across Leverington Bridge) - down the steep hill. It was the old Mrs. Pauls I think. Those were some great spots years ago.
Cool video! I love seeing you fish freshwater. I'd love to see you do more smallie and snakehead videos!
Nice fishing. Those flatheads are still some cool fish especially that orange colored one.
you and couple others that ocean kayak are second to none ,your friends ,,,👍🎣
Not sure if you know of this tip, but if you want your sunnies to live longer, instead of hooking them under the jaw through the nose put the hook point in the mouth and then hook through the nose. That way the bait can still breath. They last much longer! Thanks again for another great video! Been stuck indoors due to the 110+ degree heat indexes down here, so it's always refreshing to see someone in cooler climes getting to hammer some fish!Tight Lines!
I love your channel and all the fishing videos keep it up
Hahaha he had ur trout magnet dude thats an awesome feeling. Fish and the hook he took
Nice...I haven't tried fishing the Manayunk canal since there are some suburban canals and lakes that are the same 30 min drive but I might check it out! I didn't know there were that many bass there lol
+Kristen McKee check it out, it's not the best but there are plenty of 14"-18" bass in there
Thanks! For Philly that's not bad at all lol
Awesome video man. When will you be going back to Florida again to fish? If you ever go back go to palatka it's awesome on the St. John's river
Chris, you "own" Philly/South Jersey fishing. Keep up the great work!
Enjoyed it. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.
Totally dig your channel brotha. One of the better ones on youtube
+Bryce Mann thanks!

Love the long videos
You have an awesome channel, I subbed on the first vid.
Thanks
great vid keep up good work
jiggin flatties is the way to go. I just put pretty much any soft plastic on a jig with a really heavy duty hook if you have a lot of flatheads youll slay, especially in the susky. Its just like jigging for stripers.
Hey Chris big fan and I just wanted to ask a question. I know you busy and u might just ignore this comment and that's fine but I'm going to the Chesapeake bay on this Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday near Annapolis (I know u fish their a lot) and I just wanted to know if you have any good spots that you can catch a diverse group of species from! Thanks man it would be awesome if you could give me some feedback!!!
good vid thanks for shareing
Tip: when you hook sunfish through the mouth, only go through the upper lip so it can still open its mouth to breathe.
Jonah Anastos fish breath with their gills dumbass
Hood Cochrane They need to open their mouths so the water can flow in. They only breathe out through their lungs. Dumbass
Jonah Anastos you both are dumbasses they open their mouths so that the water can flow in and the water flows out of the gills
When you are Jigging somewhere where you might get snaged fast from stones. You might try to jig with 11 o clock rod position.
enjoy the fishing
You should do more carp fishing in these kind of canals
U can get away with an ounce in that spot never know big smallie non the less your a Great Angler !
What are the chances of getting that bait back.. lol
The good fishing is right around the corner, you ready for it?
I would have told that Bass with your Trout Magnet in his mouth to go find your other lure lol. He'll bring it to you tomorrow lol
nice video!
I love long fishing vids
film video !! ahahaha nice !! ciao thumb up
Thanks man!
when are you going back to Florida i loved you Florida fishing can you do more
Hey do you ever use a bait caster for large mouth? I'm not hating on the spinning equipment but I was just wondering.
What kind of rod and reel are you using at 17:15, also what size/type of hooks. thank you, enjoying your channel.
Thanks it's a 7' st croix mojo inshore and the reel is a shimano bait runner 5000oc (maybe 6000 I'm not positive), those hooks are 9/0 owner circle hooks
+Sea-Money Fishing thanks for the info, I'm from MD and am just getting into fishing the non-tidal potomac/great falls area. currently trying to put together my rig/gear. went out with too light of gear a couple days ago and nearly snapped my rod on my first bite.
Went Crabbing today along Rt 30 near AC at I think the last accessible bridge before the city. Caught 3 non keepers with 4 crab traps. Used Chicken wings. It was slow.
how's the sharking near avalon/wildwood? I usually fish Florida but it's my friends 23rd birthday and I want to help him catch a shark in his hometown while there if possible
I like watching you catch the bait fish, you should make separate videos dedicated to bait fishing
go watch extreme philly fishing
+Tigerfishdivision Lancey Lol
Awesome!!!!!
Great. Love it!
nice video
Dude same here the river near my house has like 2 inches of water in it.
I wouldn't be so eager to approach a goose like that. their wings are very muscular and capable of breaking your wrist.
You're someplace near the famed Manayunk Hill where the bike races take place?
Yep right in the bike race zone aka the blackout zone
Excellent, thanks.
Nice vid bro
Do you ever fish at the basin blue marsh
do you guys have jobs or do you just fish really like video
Great Vid!
Good Move
Do you plan on going back to Florida again
Where in the canal where u fishing I’m trying to catch my first bass
how much free time do you have? if I'm lucky I can go fishing once a week if that.
Hey sea money I saw u down the canal today and my dad said he used to fish with u down at the art museum
Yep I was there, what's your dads name? I used to fish down there every day haha
+Sea-Money Fishing John Fogel same as mine
Good Vid.
U the man 👍🏻
Can you show us how to fish a trout magnet? I'd like to use one but have no idea how to jig it. :D
Usually fish hit the trout magnet on the fall
great video man. :) Keep it up. also what do you recommend for catching large mouth bass?
Bluegill work but not as good as different lures I would use bluegills for spawning bass and lures for pressured bass. Hope I could help!
+Jelleefox Squeegy thanks you so much
+ZICCY14ZACCA no problem glad I could help😀
What was the rod you were catching the sunfish on
Can you do some more bass fishing vids? Maybe use a wacky rig. It's one of my favorite thing to use. Or a dropshot
MrExpandurmind no it’s isnt
nice vid
Any thought about fishing Great Egg harbor?
+Neil Martinez I'm not familiar with it, but there should be a bunch of different kinds of small fish there like perch flounder Seabass Blues, might be good crabbing there too
keep it up
Have u ever tried fly fishing?
Want to fish there, but there is only 2hr parking around the canal!
+Marble yep the parking situation is terrible down there. Gotta park on the side of Main Street between leverington Ave and green lane
Sea money fishing have you ever tried catfish dough or home made bait
Hey you ever fish nockamixon lake? I live pretty close to it and there is good fishing there. Suppose to be a good cat fish population
been there a few times. what's the best way to catch them ?
+AsianInvasion dead bait
+Jarred Monaco I've been there a couple times in years past, I should try it again but yea, never had much luck there, def catfish in there and stripers too
+Sea-Money Fishing it's a tough lake. I'm going tonight. I can do really good and sometimes get the skunk. I mostly bass fish and sometimes musky. If you ever want to go in a boat I got a 14ft smokercraft hit me up man.
nice
Smallies love bluegill
Also with the trout magnet
when u gonna bring back flathead fridays
I'm going camping by the Delaware water gap and I'm going freshwater fishing for the first time going for catfish any tips
Try for deep in the middle I've kayaked out there before and saw huge schools, of nice catfish chillin on the bottom. Fling a Sunnie or some meat out. There and you are bound to catch something.
+Epic Composition thanks!
+epiczazelite hey I have the same bird on the pic
+Seth Bluhm cool!
🎣🤙🏼
What Rod are you using to catch the bluegills? Or at 1:40?
I don’t know too many people who throw the salty spider. Cabin creeks are the shit.
I fixed here yesterday there were so many weeds grass covering the top of the water I couldn't throw a spinner I saw a lot of fish though carper active but I didn't have any corn there were some really nice share very active jumping out of the water but they were not biting anything I had I walked up and down the canal for about four hours no bites then again like I said there were so much grass and weeds made it really unfashionable with and again I'm a beginner so I didn't know what to do
do you like fresh water or salt water fishing better
Fresh water fishing for carp off the surface (and no I don't eat them so don't ask)
+Legendary Zone2431 do u eat them
He didn't ask you
+jack burns no it's illegal
+Wyatt Brown saltwater hands down
Try fishing a drop shot with an Arron's Magic worm.
can u catch more flounder?
Can you tell me what model is your second rod (ligth one) ;)???
5' st croix premier ultra light
when days go by an i still have yet to catch a fish i come to the good ol boy sea money
Navigable. Navigable. Treacherous. Mmmmm.
How big was the rod that you used for the carp
Matt 123 ultralight
God job
Good*
What is the location of the first flathead spot
what is your recommended rig for fishing with blue gills for flatheads
+outdoors Adventures 8/0 circle hook, 40lb leader, fishfinder rig with 3oz of weight
ok. thanks for replying
You ever eat any flathead or is the water quality too questionable?
It's Philadelphia river water. It's probably the water quality.
+ThellColds not from the schuylkill, it's a dirty river, but I've eaten them in South Carolina and they were delicious!
I’m from Montgomery county brotha ! Would be cool to fish wit ya ! Let’s link n land some monsters! Salt or freshwater
@ 7:00 that bass had a pug nose, like you occasionally see in stripers
Not severe but definatly present
Yep you are right
Make a Pike fishing episode
