The dogs and I head to the village of Yarker to walk the Cataraqui Trail, west from Yarker to just beyond Curl Road and back. Though the day is cloudy, it is warm and humid and I thought it might be interesting to see what insect life and other small creatures might be active. This section of trail cuts through "alvar" habitat that is becoming increasingly rare. As such it is also possible to find species here that utilize alvar habitat and they too can be uncommon or rare.

A very beautiful video Todd! Thank you very much for all of your hard work, and sharing your many talents! Absolutely wonderful photography, of so much beauty in nature, we may not always spot. Or identify. I like this alvar landscape. This video is such a great treat to enjoy before the long weekend. Thank you, and happy Canada Day weekend! Pat

      Thanks Pat!
This video portrays a little more of what I typically do during these hikes even though I may not always capture those things in my videos, usually due to time.
So it's nice to show some of the critters I'm often looking for along the way. Happy you enjoyed it. Happy Canada Day to you as well and have great long weekend. Unfortunately, we've all got COVID I think so dealing with a rough respiratory infection right now (headaches, constant coughs and phlegm etc.). Lot's of fun. 😩

@@hervedelnorte7928 I am so sorry you are feeling under the weather. I truly hope you can make a fast recovery Todd.
My best wishes are with you. And the support of all your subscribers, wishing you TLC.
Please take it easy, the next few days. And give yourself plenty of time to rest, and take care of yourself.
I love your exploring and creative nature, as you hike. I love to seek out interesting creatures and plants along the way, as well.
This was such an attractive, and informative, video. Love this, to enjoy over the weekend! Take it easy tonight, and get a good rest! Take care and thank you.

Thanks very much Pat. Not feeling too horrible at times but gets worse at night and makes sleeping difficult. Two hours sleep last night. Hopefully better tonight.

@@hervedelnorte7928 Two hours, is an awful night's sleep! I truly hope you can enjoy a more relaxed and restful night tonight.
This chilly weather, doesn't help. Just try to take it easy, this weekend. Even if you take a nap or two, during the day.
Best to take it easy, until you recover. Thanks so much again... Loved this video!
