    Don't feel bad about the wrestling match to get the 3 into tail skins. I've had mine for near 2 years now and I need to fight it every time.

      I love that haha, thank you! I think I've realized I do my best work when I can like, sit on the ground with it 😂😅

      @@HeatherBrookeiv Oh the same! I'm normally on the floor or crawling on my bed to do so. My husband has walked in several times, laughed, and asked if I needed any help. I typically say something like, "No, I will win this battle by instilling the fear of God into this thing!" Makes him laugh harder.

    Currently I am convinced that the foot pocket for the FF1 is actually SHORTER than in the FF3. Maybe this is just due to the length lost by having smaller heel openings, as you say. All I know is, my toes get a bit scrunched in my FF1, but fit comfortably in my FF3. It drives me nuts that this is insider knowledge and not mentioned on the product pages. I think I might have sized up for my FF1 if I had known it ahead of time.

    • @HeatherBrookeiv
      @HeatherBrookeiv  2 года назад +1

      That is frustrating! It would be nice if the difference in fit was mentioned on the page so people could size up if need be! I just stuffed my tape measure inside mine and as best I can tell they seem to be the same length on the inside, but it's not the easiest thing to measure either. It's a strange dilemma for sure!

    Love the one is handy in the pool,as it is less likely for me to accidently wack someone when sharing lanes.espeaully I side.would love the 3 but currently out of my price range.though the weight outside the water could be a problem for me,plus storage.the one just fits with tips slightly bent,in an under the bed roller storage bin.

    • @HeatherBrookeiv
      @HeatherBrookeiv  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes! The one definitely is better when it comes to not accidentally whacking someone haha. Storage definitely is something to consider too, my three has lived on a piece of cardboard under my bed, just sitting around in my office, and currently, it's chilling in my basement haha. But whatever works for where we currently are in life!

    Are you planning on doing a tail skin review on tails you’ve interacted with or swam with? Durability/ compression/ support and stuff?
    Also… where’d you get your circle chair?? Looks like a very comfortable chair to sleep in 😴🥰

      Ooh, I had not planned on that, but that's such a fun idea!! The circle chair is from Ashley Home Furniture and yes, I've heard it's fabulous to sleep in 😂❤

    This was all my thoughts on the 3 vs 1 also.
    One note about beach carts... they become more of a hindrance than a help if you need to use stairs to go over a dune or to get down to the beach at your access point, which is the case in many places.
    I also tried out a 2 last week and it just didn't do it for me. Felt like all the weight of a 3 but without the power. But that might just be me. My podmate has owned both and prefers the 2.

    • @HeatherBrookeiv
      @HeatherBrookeiv  2 года назад

      I'm glad I was able to sum some things up well! And that makes so much sense about the carts, they must be best only for certain situations haha.
      That's so interesting about the 2! It definitely has a different flow from the 3 from the videos I've seen, it's interesting how much that translates to feel! I know I've definitely heard some people love the 2 most as well! I wonder if it has to do with swim style?

    Looks scary. How not to panic if your legs are restrained like this underwater.

      The first step is practicing your dolphin kick without the fin, then trying the kick with the fin, and finally with the monofin and the tail skin all together. That's at least what I did when I started out! You can see my progress how I tried it for the first time here: ruclips.net/video/BsTMZ5GJ7OU/видео.html
      It also helps that you know you can just kick the fin off of your feet and pull the tail skin off in a few seconds if you're really panicking. It's not like you're locked in, they do come off pretty easily in the water if you try.
      It is very nice to be in a pool or somewhere that you can just stand up if you panic when you're starting out too. I've been finding the more I practice though, I'm starting to be more comfortable in the water with my fin than I am without it. I still get nervous around deep water sometimes, but the more I swim with my tail the more I'm learning how strong I am and just naturally getting more and more comfortable! ❤

    My other option for carrying the ff3 especially when it is already in the tail skin is to lay it into a somewhat large (mine is 35x55x30 cm) plastic storage box (like frok ikea or so) footpockets to one of the longer sides od the box with heels poking out a bit at the top. The rest of the fin just flows into the box (lower part) or curls a bit in on itself (upper part) without any sharp bends. If you carry it with the side with the foot pockets towards your body carrying it is quite doable, it doesn't get dirty and when its wet it dowsnt make a wet mess everywhere it goes.
    If some of you struggle with having a snug fit with your feet in the ff3 because of the wider footpockets try wearing it upside down. Usually the bottom openng is large enough for your feet to pass through but it is also not as big as the top hole. I had it a few times with my ff3 while wearing neopren socks that ich pushed off the wall and my feet slipped out of the monofin most likely due to its sheer mass.
    Something else I noticed was that even though the propulsion on the ff3 is a lot better and swimming feels less cardio heavy than on my luna monofin (also full silicone but a less floppy and a LOT less weight somewhat comparable to the ff1) I am still able to swim larger distances with one breath in the luna.

      That's so cool! Wearing the fin upside down does sound terrifying to me though haha, I would assume someone would just need a smaller size? The medium is pretty big on me in the 3 but as long as it's in the tail skin my feet don't really come out. That suction when the fin is up against a pool wall or floor is REAL though haha.
      I'm finally getting better breath control in my 3 as well, for me it's all been about being able to feel really calm and comfortable in the water. ❤

      @@HeatherBrookeiv With the tail skin on it is fine for me too but I also wear it without skin for freediving training (no real need to look pretty there and it also causes some drag). From the measurements on the page a small would have been too small for me so I wear my medium size upside down 😄
