Instructions unclear, I've run out of plains in my mono white deck
LOL very funny
step 5 really makes me be like "Armageddon sounds really fun all of a sudden"
Dude just made a mono-white landfall deck
Edit: Beza of the bounding spring is the perfect commander for this deck
Ok baumi, listen up, i will reveal you the best white mana ramp. You just need 2 mana on turn 2 without using the second land (something like a dork on turn 1 or jewled amulet or whatever.
Turn1: land, dork/mana generator.
Turn2: fetch land, foretell cosmic intervention.
Turn 3: play fetchland, cast suspended cosmic intervention and crack fetchlands. Fetchland come back at beginning of eot, crack them again (remember cIntervention says until end of turn), exile them again. They come back on the next oppenents end step, crack them again.
Turn 4: play 8th land.
The easy way to do this is to suspend on turn 2 with no dork and play a fetch on turn 3. This still gives you 2 lands of cosmic intervention, untapping turn 4 with 5 lands and u can play the 6th.
This process also really takes a lot of lands from the decks and probably smoothing out the draws.
Nobody knows this loop, but know that it is out i'm doomed. Just don't tell anybody, it's busted.
That's an awesome use of card detail.
Note:Foretell, not suspend
That is amazing! You can do a smaller version with brought back and two fetch lands but that is crazy perfect with how that works with the wording of the effects
This feels like this would be very difficult to pull off in commander unless you're running a lot of mana dorks. Any specifics you would recommend? I'm new to the game.
@@Synergyseek yes, sorry, fotetell is the right keyword. I corrected it in the message, thanks for pointing out
@@bretmkal the easiest way to do this is in a white/green (like Maya, bretagard protector) where you want all the mana dorks like, llanowar elves, elvish mystic, fyndhorn elves, boreal druid, bird of paradise, avacyns pilgrim.
You could use rituals, like rite of flame, dark ritual, elvish spirit guide, simian spirit guide, tinder wall, jeweled amulet, it can happen when you drop a sol ring on t1, arboreal grazer, exploration, the goblin that sacs for 1 mana (sorry can't recall the name), blood pet. There are a lot of options depending on your color and strategy. With ancient tomb you can foretell on turn 1 🤘🏻
You can also use fetches with surveyour's scope.
If you hold priority and crack two fetches and activate scope, you'll have 7 mana on turn 4
Finally. I’ve found how to make my non-green landfall deck I’ve been dreaming of
If you're interested in a really cool Grixis landfall deck, may I suggest Ashnod the Uncaring with artifacts that ramp you?
I've been addicted to fiddling with land ramp in white recently, so this is the perfect video for me. I love how you made the examples with the cards moving around, very cleanly done.
14:00 if a game plan fails because you played a planar cleansing then that player isn't playing enough counter spells good sir!
The best level 5 - mono white ramp card is: Cosmic Intervention. It creates a conditional delayed trigger that returns any permanent destroyed this turn to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. So you can crack a fetch land. It comes back in the end step. Even though you are in the End Step, the turn hasn't ended yet. Crack it again. The delayed trigger will return it again during the next end step (typically in the following players unless you are taking an extra turn). That's 3 lands for 1 fetch land (over two turns).
This works best with fetch lands that either enter untapped themselves or sacrifice immediately like the New Capenna fetches. It's good if you get to do it with one land, but works even better mid-game if you have several fetches that can be cracked at the same time.
Since Cosmic Intervention has foretell, you can set it up early and keep up to use with only two generic mana. Pick your window, say after a non-exile board wipe to get your permanents back AND ramp. Doing this in response to a Toxic Deluge or Torment of Hailfire is extremely satisfying.
I still think Land Tax is one of the best card draw cards in the game. Guarantee your land drops for the whole game, meaningfully thin out your deck, and if you're feeling gross you can combo with mystic forge for a sylvan library every turn (without paying the life)
Add scroll rack for more fun
@ ooops that's what I meant not the forge
Absolutely, and it's actually relevant deck thinning.
you are the spiritual son of Richard and the whole Goldfish crew
I am furiosly taking notes for my next mono white deck, thank you so much for this
Counterpoint: The green player will just miss his land drop for 5 turns in a row.
This change the way I will look at white decks forever
Nice video, love this mana ramp for my white-red stax-goad-boardwipe deck 😂
Don't forget to put in Flagstones of Trokair with the Lotus lands. So when you sack it go get another Plains.
Came here to say this
one of my favorite white ramp card that you didn't mention is Legion's Landing, its basically just a 1 mana 1/1 lifelinker and attacking with three creatures is pretty easy in white if you are running all the catch up ramp because they are attached to bodies. Honestly a lot of the Ixalan card that flip into lands are really good.
I have been working on a non-CEDH Hashaton list for a week now, and decided on a white ramp package yesterday. I found it funny this was recommended.
Omg its like this video was made for me, im not even finished and i know this gonna be amazing!
Your voice is great btw :)
I've found the Borderpost artifact cycle to be a good addition for catch-up ramp. Casting a mana rock for the cost of picking up a land is really just like playing a tapped land that's not really a land. This way you can even play the 2 mana catch-up creatures on turn 2.
I've been fine tuning a Lurrus deck and this is really helpful. I havent ever played magic seriously, so I'm sorely lacking in card knowledge and this is mind blowing.
Great video great overview of white ramp process. Commander goldfish team Richard said the red ramp cards are the red transform cards that turn into lands. And black is just cabal coffers and yogmoth lol.
I have a mono red land ramp Themberchaud deck it’s not the best deck but it gets a lot lands out and is pretty funny. I mostly just utilize colorless land ramp + flicker effects and artifact recursion
Don't sleep on a Zoran Orb... it's won me a game with an aetherflux reservoir and another time with angel of destiny
Good stuff! Thanks for the imput.
Now wanna rebuild my land bases!
I play Ghost Quarter in a lot of these decks because the replacement land comes in untapped. I like it as an answer to busted lands that can also just be proactively used on your own lands to further enable Brought Back and friends.
Red does have Cleansing Wildfire, Geomancer's Gambit, and Sundering Eruption targeting your own indestructible lands or a Diamond City. But there ain't much else for red land ramp.
I'm gonna try this out for my Balan deck.
Needing 6 mana to get Balan in full power means I absolutely need more land consistency there.
Exact same situation. I got her(js22 version) equipment suite fine tuned, I just need ramp and a bit of on feild stax to reduce blockers.
craziest thing is that i used to watch you for DOTA 2 now here you are with my new obsession. Good to see Baumi is doing good
The price tag of this ramp is pretty crazy. But dear lord it is worth every penny. Gerards hourglass is also perfect for this.
I was thinking about a bant shell for Archelos sometime, because I'd been wanting to play Taniwha in bant, with Taniwha, Land Tax, and Burgeoning. This video is perfect brainstorming that concept
Hey Baumi I randomly found out on reddit you do commander videos now. Just wanna say it's awesome seeing you doing MTG content, I used to watch you wayyyyyyyy back in the day, I'd fall asleep to your dota 2 videos lol. Hope you've been doing good man.
I did not give you that idea in a stream ever OK Baumi, I NEVER COMMITED MANA FRAUD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Only in Jeskai as funny bird man.
Talking about strange decks, i've been doing a five colors mono-black devotion deck, and it's pretty hilarious. Use Omnath, Locus of all as your commander, play ALL the cards with the maximum hybrids mana with blacks (mostly from Lorwyn and Eldrain sets) and then drop a gray merchant of asphodel and because you have access to blue, just clone it a bunch and voilà.
Seeing you in dota for years suddenly the dude makes Commander MTG Videos :D
My favorite mana fraud is Emeria Shepherd plus Burnished hart. It comes with the bonus of putting my graveyard back onto the battlefield. Good times.
This problem is easy to solve. Armageddon. Tell the green player to stop that.
You gotta mention Planar Birth here
For 4 color deck , that can be good ( take plain + other color ) . That maybe funny in breya for turbo ramp.
This video is an amazing resource, i had to research quite a bit for my mono white deck trying to play the 2 angels that fuse together into a eldrazi nightmare. I would argue that my deck is level 3 with a splash of level 5 (i would actively destroy all lands all the time as plan B or plan A forcing a counterspell or making sure i dont fall behind because of a removal abillity).
I've been using the level 4 package in decks I have that run white but not green for a long time. I can attest this is 100% legit. Like in a Mardu re-animator deck its completely nuts. How Lotus Field is so slept on is beyond me. You can get the card as cheap as like $5. Arid Archway really was the final piece that made it super consistent in mono and two color with the bounce trick. I don't use Karoo in two color though only in mono white.
You forgot to cast balance after you sacrifice all of your land and have the codex shredder out =D
Planar Birth + Land Tax, just potch the lands you search for each turn. Also crucible of worlds and a scavenger round, strip mine, wasteland, ghost Quarter package is pretty easy to support in mono colour.
I feel like throwing in the balance effects to take advantage of your high mana lands is also very good
absolutely in love with this
Dude thats great, I only knew you from Dota and know you make Videos about my second hobby ^^
Good Video :)
I found that, myself. It's the core of my Aurelia deck.
I also play catastrophe and razia's purification to put them all back in play
Level Six: Armageddon.
(With some means of protecting or recurring your lands, of course.)
"Hey, that's not ramping"
"Don't I have more lands in play than all other players?"
"But-"
"I rest my case"
Your voice made me sub I recognized your voice from the dota days right away
How dare you give away all the secrets of my non-green landfall deck 😅
One of my favourites is the balance effects. Restore Balance and Balancing act will wipe out the person who raced ahead, even better if you can use the former (which comes off suspend leaving you all your mana to spend) and then fire off a brought back
>.> The way you wrote this, it's like you don't know Balance is a card.
@ it's banned lmao 😂
THE 3 LOTUS LANDS ARE PRETTY EXPENSIVE
lol
So? Proxy them. These days, not many people care that much.
nice video, not gonna build a white ramp deck but i play orhov and have a few of the land ketchup cards in my ramp, this video made a good point about bounce lands, so im gonna see about adding karoo, lotus field and everglades to my decks.
he didnt mention it and its not exactly mana fraud but white is the color of equipment tutoring. the classic stoneforge search hearth and home, hit someone, blink stoneforge works as well as just searching sword of the anime XD
Suddenly I understand the appeal of zuran orb
I'm surprised you didn't mention using settle the wreckage on your own board, especially in token theme decks
hi richard
you are not going to get Farewelled every game. jesus christ
For black i think rain of filth is a filthy card!
Titel und Thumbnail waren erste Klasse, und es ist ne geniale Idee sich mal mana-ramp Technologie außerhalb von Grün vorzustellen ^^
Deck list? I'm curious about your AO deck now....
very good
Time Stamps would have been really helpful to look things up again!
Thanks for the advise on committing fraud :D
Great video as always. Is the blue land ramp you mentioned just drawing into your lands with blues amazing card draw?
No, blue can legitimately ramp with lands, just like white and green. It's a tad slower, but still very good.
That's not ramp. Ramp is putting you ahead in mana. What you've mentioned is just hitting your land drops.
@@CommanderBaumi sorry I started playing during bloomburrow so im not familiar with blues land ramp. Will you do a video on blue like you did white and like you said you would red and black?
I have a friend who says black is the best at ramping
Richard from MTGGoldfish called, he wants his content back
I play Preston the Vanisher he's a blink Commander I've never played a game where I wasn't flooded with lands I've even played 2 games where I put every land I owned onto the battlefield him blink effect and solem or kor and I'm golden also the tokens he makes are copies of existing creatures so each white pip on the tokens feeds nykthos shrine to nyx I've made 30 Plus mana with it goes infinite if you blink it with Felidar
Very good, as always. Any decks this would particularly well synergize with?
What is this wizardry? Ramping white in MY mtg? Unheard of. Now shut up and take my money
Subscribed for this madness
you might want to put a amulet of vigor in tthere since ypu play lots of tap lands in those scenarios :)
Hi Baumi, could you link your decklists? I'm really keen to see what you make and get ideas from them :D
Could you please help with mono red?
I'm not always finding it easy to literally get cards in hand or lands in play in terms of card draw and ramp.
It's all like ritual mana and playing cards from exile 😢😅
For any mono-color deck insert Nykthos & Nyx Lotus.
Who's your commander? Firstly, if you're stressed about playing from exile then you need to just accept that it's what red does.
I don't much believe in staples but I think in the modern game you probably should have Ruby Medallion and Sword of the Animist in any red deck. They're both very affordable now. And the sword has some gross synergy with the 3 legendary creatures who go to other players each turn (slicer, Alexios and Kharn). Hearth and home is fine too.
There's also some fun tech where you can cast Cleansing Wildfire on your own indestructible land to ramp and draw a card - worst case it's the land removal that basically all decks are missing.
Anyway, if you wanna play red and still aren't quite getting it then I would point you in the direction of Rose, Cutthroat Raider who is card advantage and mana generation in the command zone.
@@granite_4576 Ragavan, but I'm mainly aiming to just get my Field of the Dead and Vakakut working so yeah, REAL card draw and ramp.
@@granite_4576 I replied to this what the heck RUclips, I wrote a long... Ahh it's bed time and now I'll reply again later sorry dude
They counterfeit common cards? 😆
Wait...Nykthos is embarrassing? 🤔
Nykthos + Nyx Lotus + Land Tax is pretty solid, imo.
It's embarrassing like Ancient tomb, cos it's a cheesy old expensive card.
@granite_4576 Cheesy? You mean extremely effective? More effective than taking up 10 card slots to do an up & down land dance? That kind of cheesy?
@ it's a $40 card dude, yes it's cheesy. im guessing you also like cyc rift, craterhoof and rhystic study. Tbh that's fine do your thing, we are playing different games 😂
I'm not here to see someone slap down their wallet on the table with a smirk with a single card that does it all, I'm here to watch someone build some dumb rube-goldburg machine by understanding the connections between the writing on these pieces of cardboard.
@@granite_4576 I hate Cyclonic Rift, Craterhoof goes in my token deck because a bunch of 1/1s don't exactly win games on their own, and Rhystic Study goes in Atraxa because I'm already playing Atraxa so why tf not.
And I'm going to let you in on a little secret: You can get proxies of any of those cards for $3.50. We're not playing in official tournaments, so the whole "slap your wallet on the table" is only for people who reject proxies because they _WANT_ the game to be pay2win.
You might like making 1/6 of your deck a janky combo just to get lands, but I'm here to make combos that actually win the game, not just reproduce actions that can be performed in a single card.
To each their own.
@@granite_4576 Buy proxies. $3.50 each. You're welcome.
