That's crazy mentally to do that after false starting.
Specially after his coach look to him too lol
Chance lmao
Bagus
he got exited and scaried then his blood pressure etc boosted by his brain so and so
Na easy when you know you are on performance enhancing drugs.
I swam in high school and my best 100m time ever was 58 seconds. These guys swim 56s 100's for 1500 meters. Wow.
no he doesn't do 56s for 100m, if he did his time would be 14:00, he does around a 58 per 100 to get to 14:30 but that's still insanely fast
Yeah that is my sprint pace for 1 100! He does 15 at that pace. It blows my mind that's all.
I'm a swimmer in hs right now and i need to get on your level. My 50m freestyle time is 43. But then again i'm a freshmen
RxgIaNt44 43 is kind of rough but you are starting out. Keep it at it bud, I am 5.7 and made it to state 2x with 1:04 in 100 breaststroke. The awesome thing about swimming is that the more you work (and this includes technique) the better you get. Good luck and always remember that girls in bathing suits are a lot better than a room full of sweaty guys : D
Manuel Gutierrez
1:04 isnt bad! I had that when i was 13 tho ;))
What a dope performance

They are stupid that's why
That's just question dude, or just an opinion as a commentator
This man swims 16 km a day when training. How many people here walk 5 km a day?
me.
True! :) But it's the same: People work 8-10 hours a day besides their training. Does Sun even work 2 hours a day? (No, he works 0 hour/day, because he is a swimmer).
Well, I guess the media gave out that number because it was considered a lot among the swimmers as well! I'm not certain though!
Trakyyy I hate walking or running but I swim 6 or 7km a day so
Young Dancers lol yeah me too.. I get pissed off walking from my home to train station 1 km away every morning but I swim like 3 km everyday

Interesting - did his London 2012 samples turn positive results? How about Kazan 2015, Rio 2016, Budapest 2017??? Which one returned positive doping results?? Or are you making an assumption based off of what you think is the truth?
XwD77 that’s why he’s banned for 8 years😬😬

2023, with the rise of the great young Tunisian Ahmed Hafnaoui and despite all the haters, Sun's record still stands and celebrates its 11th anniversary
This, to me, is the ultimate in difficulty. Distance swimming.
+kowalityjesus I'm not even a big swimming fan. But watching his stroke under water through the 1500 m is a work of art. I wish him luck in Rio.
+Vette gaddia truly is a work of art.
kowalityjesus I like distance
400 IM on 50-meters pool is the hardest one in swimming
I don't know if you swim but I can give you some piece of advise. I am a person who started swimming seriously just a year ago and I was able to swim 200 meters before I die. Now I am able to swim for at least 2 straight ours or over 7 kilometers. The secret is in the pace. You need to try to start very slowly and then increase the tempo over time. Also I can do the same thing with medley. The secret is in the frequent training, slow pace and commitment. Good luck.
I'm mind blown 1500m without stopping and keeping the same pace that's one of the most impressive thing I've ever seen in my life respect

I look for it to fall in the Olympic final in Paris
He lost alot of energy with the first mistaken dive yet he still wins! Amazing.
which provided him with tons of adrenaline
Han Solo good point dude
Han Solo That is a good point, but in an event like the 1500 free, a swimmer has to calm down. Had it been a sprint like th 50 or 100 free then adrenaline would have played a part.
Phanteus He also got suspended for doping :p
Mark Dawes He did, he took a banned stimulant for chest pains he was suffering. However, the substance he took is no longer on the banned substance list as of this year.
“to clarify, under the current list, Trimetazidine is currently prohibited in-competition only until the end of 2014. For the 2015 List, you will see it has moved (to) section S.4.5.”
Essentially, trimetazidine has been reclassified and downgraded. As of January 1, it will not be on the banned stimulant list.

Sheer poetry.
NOTICE: He is not fighting harder/thrashing through the water more than the other swimmer.
He is measured, and paced, taking longer, smoother strokes, with less splash on entry than the others.
He is using a 2-beat kick almost all the way through.
Reducing resistance = more velocity than propulsion alone. Streamlining folks!
that's actually 4 beat kick...for most of the race
@@baraklevy3344 OK; it appears that you're correct. At the 8:00 mark he is using a two-beat kick, then we see much more four beat kicks. However, most of the kicks are light, almost like stabilizer kicks (with some propulsion), then two of them are stronger, to help turn the body most likely. Thanks for the clarification. Most of the kicks look like he's kicking once with one leg strongly, then two small kicks on the other side, followed by another strong kick, making a total of three kicks with one leg. Maybe this has something to do with balancing out the alternating breathing sides?
@@mumpygumboo8554 well i see one main kick for the stroking hand, then followed by 3 small ones as you mentioned. I dont think breathing is related but i am just a beginner so no idea.

wonder how much the googles fog over after a 1500
+Eric Chen gogles fog when factory coating gets worn out or damaged. In that case, you can apply 1 drop of anti-fog liquid, and there will be no fog for the whole day.
Every time coming out of water I apply quite a bit of soap water on both sides of the goggles, wash most of it off but leave some remaining on the goggles to protect the surface. I've got no fogging problem at all.
I just lick them... And that works ...
Super Noodles me too hahah

an aussie announcer mentioned off-hand that sun yang swims up to 100 km (62+ miles) A WEEK! we will always be hobbyists compared to legends like sun yang, grant hackett, oussama mellouli.
wanttoliveyoungforever Your stroke is probably really bad. You are also probably very unfit. People who swim for a sport often swim around 5 km a training session, 10 times a week or so.
swimming long distance is really not difficult...reducing beat kicks (4 beat kicks each breath), taking long strokes with slow speed, only swim like a sprinter in the last 100m.
That's my experiences. in every summer, I swim about 12km/week (4 days per week)-3km each day ( swim 1500m 2 times each) :D. I know I am able to finish 5-10km each time but it take too much time.

he is 1.98 I say, so that gives out 50/1.98=25.25, Which I would say a balanced even stroke in which to be more energy saving for the final sprint.
Qiuyuan Chen Wat do you mean with that calculation it makes no sense at all to me? I think you want to say that he dont need to swim so many strokes becouse he is tall. But I still dont understan the calculation.
Anyway Its about arm span and shoe size and not how tall the person is. But tall persons more often have a bigger shoe size and wider armspan and thats why the reason why the best swimmers often is tall. But even if you calculate that it still makes no sense becouse its also about the body position and stroke technique. That can affect the number of strokes a lot.
The Arm span is almost equals or longer than body length which is common for swimmers. Thus each one of two stroke would give him a full body length of traveling or a bit more than that.

imagine using ssat vocab
then got found to be on drugs and had an 8 year ban :)
@@elasticpotato2974 i thought it was 3 years and tbh the accusation was a bit fishy. The ppl checking his blood were not following protocol. Ur supposed to have 2 officials from the olympic committee but one of the ppl checking sun yang was not from the committee. Sun yang noticed this and asked to check his work card showing that he was part of the committee and naturally the person didnt have one. Sun yang called his lawyer and his lawyer told him to not let the “officials” take his blood sample. This part is kinda weird: sun yang told them not to use the blood sample, to destroy the sample and take a new one with actual officials there. He would not let them test it until there were 2 officials present. Pretty normal. Then i assume there was some conflict or smt because he destroyed the bag and obviously it seemed like he was hiding smt so he got banned for three years. He could’ve appealed but his lawyer is pretty bad so he didn’t tell sun yang about appealing.
