- Hi guys! Today we're making some vintage inspired suitcases from polymer clay and fabric. I used miniature metal hinges and details from ebay to get the look/function of the real thing :)
Good to know:
I work in 1:12 scale, but you can make them in any size you want and add headpins to make them charms :) I used a mix of the polymer clay brands Fimo and Cernit, but you can use any brand you like. The liquid clay I use is from the brand Fimo. My mold maker is from Siligum/Sili-put.

+SpiritStones Creative Crafts They came up while I searched for other miniature metal items - I looked on ebay now and could not find any, so there might just not be any for sale on the right now :)
Sometimes i see little things like them at garage sales, or maybe you could find a small box with the corner peices at the thrift store and take them off and use them :)
I found this miniature trunk kit that contains similar metal parts. You might try contacting the seller and ask him if he sells the metal components separately. +SpiritStones Creative Crafts You're welcome! I've discovered that the best search terms are "dollhouse hardware". You can find draw pulls and key locks etc. Also, you can add the word "escutcheon" and that will give different results that are good, too.
