How to do subframe bushings the easy way - Авто/Мото
Thank you for actually showing the press portion of the repair. I've seen a few where the new bushing just appears in place like magic.
Love it, great use of a tool that does not break the bank. I love how you show method and skill through experience. Most of us would grab an impact and ram it in and ruin the tool.
Great video mate, improvised, got the job done, no hassle and saved the customer a small fortune!
Exactly mate that's what it's all about
You two are the best. Always need a good laugh. Whatever gets the job done is the right tool. 👍👍👍 Leon keep them coming.
🤣🤣🤣 thanks mate
If it works it works thumbs up from me sir 👍👍👍
Thanks mate
Excellent video. Just what i needed to know before i do mine. Thanks a lot.
Did u do yours mate,I've gotta do mine too
The only man who could do this job!!!!!! sorted, the man!!!!
Boom thanks mate
Your a true mechanic after my own heart
Thanks mate
Very Well Explained, Nice Video. Have to change my Bushings in my 2007 Nissan Qashqai. Will give it a go. Thank You very Much... All the way from Maputo/Mozambique.
Spot on mate , another great job done with expertise :) :)
Thanks mate
Brilliant Video
Great job Leon, very good idea and the cups with the cut outs are great to see where you are at:):)
Thanks mate
Nice one, need to do both mine . Excellent vid bro 👍
Great help that vid mate, thanks for your efforts 😘
Great vid Leon 👍
Thanks mate
Well done mate it worked perfect handy tool
Thanks mate
Weldone mate, proper job 👍
All good. Just check metal to metal friction. Check to see if a lubricant is required. Same also for removal, a little up around the top helps a lot on removal also. And yes hammer action of rattle guns tends to bind threads that remain under tension. Nice tool. Use it with a kit of bush/bearing adaptors and will be a versatile piece of kit!
Thanks mate
Great Video, especially the last minute. That's where the video gets really interesting 😂😂😂😂😜😜😜😜
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I thought the best part is when I hung up on you
@@bodgitandleggitgarage 😜
You're a superstar of ingenuity 👍
I am special my Mum tells me that every day
Good job with no drama --recall mechanics battering my e30 with a sledgehammer some years ago trying to get these bushings off..
Lol thanks mate
Brilliant Leon.
Thanks mate
Spot on job. I've don't jobs like that with nuts blots and bits of cut off steel tube. Bogeit and legit fixed it again 👍
sorted mate
Excellent job
Thanks mate
"Don't have a tool that's too big" so true, so true! Great life lesson, repair lesson, comedy lesson all in one! :-)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
EXCELLENT IDEA.. GOOD JOB.
thanks mate
Made it look easy and it feels good adapting tools to fit. 👍
Thanks mate it's always about adapting things squeezing things pulling things are no wait we're talking about working on cars hahaah
lol
I love you man! Super
I’ve used all sorts of tubing in the past with threaded bar and various nuts and washers. 👍 Sorted.
Do not put too much pressure on your tool Leon. Another good vid there mate. I made my own years ago when I was a turner at a aerospace factory. If I had know about this back then it would have saved the company a lot of money. Cheers mate.
nice job mate
useful adaptable tool for other bushes too.
I got a kit with 4 size forcing screws and big selection of cups, was about £80, mix that with off cuts of steel pipe, sockets and old bearing race and you can mock up a puller for almost anything .
That was a steal for £10, the forcing screw the nut and bearing are decent quality and worth weight in gold in a busy all makes auto shop .
Job jobbed and I hope you washed your hands before going home :-)
Sorted💪👍
Poor Dan 🤣 great tool, how could anyone not like something that saves significant money.....and does the job just as well.
Exactly mate but remember this is RUclips and the comment section lol
Great jobs mate
thanks mate
Great find Leon , Nothing wrong with using tools designed for other vehicles. If it does the job at a fraction of the cost why not .
Thanks mate
Great job! I would take my car to you if I lived near!
SORTED
also egr has been cleaned also now has a slight whistle when coming of the throttle renewed all intercooler pipes cant find any leaks using spray around engine chears danny
Nice job mate.
Thanks mate
Great video, well explained. Can I do this on a Nissan Micra K12. Pull the rear of the front subframe down far enough to get at the rear bushings, I have make shift pressing tools. Many thanks.
Great tool and job, do you know if this tool would remove the front subframe bushes on a 2007 1.6 Scenic 2?
First class presentation.Rough engineering made easy by a first class mecky fitter.
Nice one Leon. 👍
Thanks mate
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Great tip
Thanks mate
Very nice, thanks!
Thanks mate
Wish me and my mate knew about that tool as we spent a morning making a similar tool but we also had lots of extras for different sizes
The most important thing is mate you got it sorted that's all that matters
doing mine today..
ripped the inners out as the stupid nut pulled the central sleeve thing through and pulled it through the top,
so new plan, large washer off an angle gringer (won't bend) and the remaining top washer without the centralising part and hopefully pull them out tomorrow..
leaving them soaking in WD40 over night too..
bloody things..!!
well that went down like a lead balloon..
word of advice..
if the inner rips out, good.
if the inner stays in, try to get it out,
whilst using the bodge removed and massive washer off a grinder to remove the bush it ripped the mounting off the subframe..!!
yet the passenger side without the inner came out no problem..
so now what ??
new subframe, or get the bush out hammer the bottom back to shape,
use the tool to re insert the surround and weld it back in (after removing the bush first)
set fire to the van ??
or sue the video maker for bad advice :)
Works for me mate 👍
Thanks mate
Av got a similar kit for pulling bearings and Bush's. I bought it about 3 years ago for an old rover I had. It would probably work same way looks like same tool lol.
Sorted
Great advice never put too much pressure on your tool when things are tight .
🤣🤣🤣
Excellent ... real world mechanical work done at the right price and done properly !!! Don't pay silly money for stealership tools and exorbitant garage hourly rates. A little bit more time spent doing it yourself is so much more satisfying (and much cheaper !!)
Thanks a lot mate that's what I like to keep in my videos real world The Good The Bad The Ugly none of this Hollywood stuff sometimes a job works sometimes the job doesn't sometimes we make mistakes sometimes things happen that's just life I keep everything in my videos
What ever works and gets the job done !!!!
Thanks mate
Great video are there any other bushes that go on the subframe, I know theres the 2 back ones but are there any others? MOT said theres 4 bushes but when searching it keeps coming up with these bushes.
Well done and the best $12.58 ever spent.
Boom
Thank you for showing how to do this job, What model van are you working on. Thank you , NZ
Wicked! Nice one...
Thanks mate
Nice .
I have one of those knock off generic bushing service kits off fleabay from China. I think it was £50 and so far its done everything i have needed to do. Comes with about 20 different cups and 4 different forcing screws with the bearing built into the nut. I even managed to get a spare M12 forcing screw because i bent the original one.
Nice sorted👍👍👍💪💪
Will this tool be suitable for the Nissan 2006 note E11 I think it is.
Is there 2 or 4 X-member mounting bushes.
If this is wrong, I don't want to be right!
Great video. I think this may work on my '08 Nissan Sentra SER Spec V? The car isn't worth much but I really enjoy driving it. The only videos I've seen on it involve removing the entire subframe, a propane torch, and a sledgehammer, and using aftermarket bushings. Nissan doesn't sell the bushings, only the subframe, which is insanely expensive just to get rid of some noises. Thanks for the idea!!
any time mate glad you like it
Score Leon!! Sorted!!!
Sorted
One thing I do for bushings on things like wish bones is get my engine hoist and turn it on its arse then get my 2 tonne car hack and press the bushing in using the frame of the engine hoist and jacking up the Jack to cause the pressure
very good
Thanks mate
Hi Leon would a wheel bearing kit of similar design not do the job !!, great video mate i must say..
Any tool that works and gives success IS THE CORRECT TOOL for the job
Sorted
Great video, giving it a go tomorrow, I hope I do well.
Did u manage to do it mate
@@nigelcallow4509 yes, we had to modify the puller we had a bit to make sure it pulled the full bushing down and not just the rubber centre.
i need to remove both rear subframe to floor bushes on my 308 is the there a specific remover or is it possible to make one up or any other way of doing the job? i cant find a one especially for the 308.
Hiya mate, what are the symptoms of these bushes being work, my van bangs on the front end going over potholes, changed strutt top mounts, anti roll bar bushes, ball joints ect but still the same
On youtube no matter what one does you do it wrong!!!!! I see no problem with doing it this way but who am I to say!
hey lots of rite way u tube police never turned a wrench !!lol cool press
I find people who call others have no idea, anyone can own tools it's knowledge and knowing how to do something. You can't buy that
🤣🤣🤣
Did it work (and not damage the workpiece):
No = wrong way
Yes = right way
I have made a similar tool for removing Norton Commando clutches. If it works its the correct tool!
That tool is for Laguna 2 rear axle bushings (hence the cutouts in the large piece). Using it on the subframe will actually damage the subframe. Unfortunately the only reliable way I have found to replace those bushings in the Laguna 2 is to remove the metal "washer", push the middle section out and then cut the outer metal sleeve. Basically taking the bushing out in pieces.
I came to this clip with the promise of a miracle tool. 😢
Can this Sealy tool applied on jaguar rear subframe!?
4:50 😄😄🇨🇦👍I was thinking that. Lol. We are men.
I'm going to fix my wifes 2008 Nissan sentra. Her subframe bushings are shot. The creeks and noises driving it are horrible.
Thanks for the vid.
Great video, I bet these work on e8x BMWs putting M3 bushings in, everyone always says it costs loads for the tools but not if you use a Laguna bushing tool 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
At 5.30, where did this washer come from? Never came with the bushes I bought? Has it came from the vehicle when you took the old bush off?
Loving the videos you give me alot of help doing things on my only car thank you very much could I ask on a mk4 astra does the subframe need to be removed to do the bushes thinking of putting power flex bushes in seem pretty straightforward to fit ask they come in 2 halfs just need no if I actually need take the frame off thanks very much
Hi mate if you got the right tools no it doesn't need to completely come off you can do what I've done on this vehicle
Hi thanks very much for the reply much appreciated thank you will give it ago in the next week or two hope you and your family have a lovely xmas many thanks
Top job, fella :)
Thanks mate
is this bushing tool for the laguna rear bushes ?
Any chance you know if this can be done as easily on a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5?
You done the rear bushes too? I have this problem with the rear..
is it the as a 2011 connect
Perfect.
Thanks mate
Did it on drive on stand saved me 700 quid thanks good idea
thanks mate that what is all about boom
Looks a quality tool, Leon...will have to buy one for no reason whatsoever...'Just in case?'...just found a reason...
Exactly mate for that price you can just buy one you'll be amazed what it can actually be useful for
Stop I know what your thinking 4:35 😂😂😂😂😂 hilarious
Hahaha... you had too much fun with this & your lube, Leon! 😂😂😂
Love the use of cheaper or used tools to do a job. Pure ingenuity!
Hahahah thanks
True machanic that's what it's all about 👍
Thanks mate
Wish I could find a mechanic like this
Just had my crv serviced at a local kwik fit, oil is 10mm over the max mark and they failed to notice the sticky caliper
Next time you need anything doing on your car mate take a trip over to Ireland and I will do it for you no problem and we can also film it boom sorted lol
Would this system work on a 2006 Nissan Note, other vidio's seem to show that the whole sub frame being removed, Cheers, Joe
Save you the time for the people that want it. Ha ha. ( Sealey Bush Removal Tool LAGUNA - Model No VSE4777 - Renault Laguna, 2001 Onwards. ) Nice video brother.

Money saved will go towards sticker, tattoo and other project funds, good thinking!! =)
Has he had that tattoo done yet...? He's all talk and no draws...B-)
@@malcolmyoung7866 I shouldn't poke at him... he really does have a lot on his plate / to do list.
@@EXOVCDS it's coming sooner than you think let's just hope we can get a lot of people involved
It got the job done.win in my book 💪
Thanks mate
Please help me, I'm from Romania, the procedure also for Renault Laguna 2001-2007 ?
Would this tool work on audi a4 b6 rear subframe bushes.?
not sure mate sorry
Couldn't you use a longer bolt to install the brushing wouldn't it pull it in all so would this tool work on a Audi A6
Yes any boltwood work you just have to be careful to make sure it's strong enough and you have the proper cup sizes to push on the bearing properly so you don't make it go to one side or do any damage
I have a fiat grande punto do you no if I need a special tool to remove and fit new bushes on the rear subframe great vid
Any bushings that goes into a housing like that technically you need special tools for in the sense of you need some sort of polar but as you can see you can make them up from pretty much anything
Have a look on FIAT forum as there are some good guides on there. Look at other model FIATs too on there as procedure will be similar.
wee all love a tight bush leon haha pmsl great video as always
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Leon. Are those bushings available for a 2006 Renault Megane Scenic for sale in the UK. I am in Cape Town, South Africa. Im told it is not available here. Pls revert
Cannot find this tool on eBay there is one for £40 but does not have the exact tool as in RUclips
