We had a camp site at Cultus Lake in the 80's and Cbc was the only channel we could get, and used to look forward to this show, it was on Friday's i think.
I used to make cassette tapes of me hosting this show, I was about 7 or 8, but I would pretend to be Stu Jefferies, not TD Mulligan! Great memories. So weird that RIGHT before this I was watching Images In Vogue videos!!!
Wish I never got into MasterCharge … The 80’s, special times. Speaking of those letters being sent in, back then I’m sure no one thought they would literally one day have a Star Trek communicator in their hand. Taking pictures with a Polaroid ? Or some camera with film loaded into it, and a separate box of flashbulbs? Not knowing what the picture looked like or if they “turned out” until after the film got developed for a week in a store somewhere. I’ll stop there before someone gives me the “thanks gandpaw” comment ….. LoL !!
Rock Over London played Shout before Everybody Wants To Rule The World. I predicted Shout would hit the US and they released Rule The World first. Terry David Mulligan later went to MuchWest on Tuesdays. A local channel used to air MuchMusic on dead air time.
they didnt play that much metal back in those days only think we got for metal was much music pepsi power hour..had to dub stuff off cable tv from audio feed of it to get any metal or tape trade with friends
I miss good rocking tonight and terry.... such memories, takes me back being 11
Watched it every weekend. Miss the 80s.
To all the groovy kids out there: This is how we used to watch music videos before RUclips!
My Friday nights were spent from 11 to 12:30 watching GRT! Even watched it when Stu Jeffries took over as host!
I loved this show when it was on in the early-mid 80s. Great to have a taste of it again here!
In the 80's, this was what we Canadians watched for music videos
I remember pushing myself to stay up late to watch this. I think SCTV might have even come on afterwards.
Childhood memories

CBC at it’s greatest! Back when EVERYONE could watch cbc tv with an antenna or even creatively formed tin foil
Those were the days!
Wow, actual viewer's hand writing on actual paper sent by actual postal mail in the 1980's, that is soooo primitive!

Funny hehe Madonna became sooooo big !
Liked the show but heard this guy was a real jerk away from the camera.
heard exactly the same. Really full of himself
Madonna is a way better singer, songwriter, and dancer than Lady Gag and Justin Barber *combined* anyday.
Terry wasn't really a heavy metal head banger.
I renember they did do an all metal episode once. Introduced me to a lot of bands I'd grow to love.
I hated the people who requested depeche mode
C'mon JJC, people are people...
@@ebereza6894 hahahahah I think I'd rather enjoy the silence.
oh yeah, Depressed Mode requests...
@@tubatits hahahah never heard that expression. DM never took off in my province.
