“Syd Fixes Bikes” was sheer genius! Even if you never add another video to that channel I will be using it as a reference and recommending it to others for the rest of my life. It strikes precisely the right tone, provides the right level of detail and manages to be entertaining as the same time.
That means a lot! Thanks ❤️
I was in Los Alamos this past week visiting family. Saw y'all out for a road ride. 😉
I love the rolling shelf door!!! Brilliant!!!!!
Is anyone surprised that Macky's genes come from a complete badass? Bob is the freaking man.
Also a video idea I haven't seen; how to plan a complete build - what is the waterfall of specs - like your frame determining your bb width, then matching that to your drivetrain... Chain line, etc. It's easy if you ~copy a factory build, but what about where you go "full custom" ... Mixing drivetrain, altering shock or forks from factory picks, using the SRAM and Shimano compatibility charts, rim and tire width matching... Etc
“Syd Fixes Bikes” was sheer genius! Agreed !
Amazing transformation... I am definitely more than a little jealous. Kudos!
Now that's a nice workshop. Your Dad is amazing. 100 pushups a day. Wow. Thanks for sharing your skills. Those swinging components of the shop are so great. Take care, Al
Syd Fixes Bikes is a great channel. Helped me get back into biking because I HAVE to work on my own bike. Congrats
Hey Macky, if you have stretched out chains you can’t use, you can reuse them on the slide door as a way to keep things falling off each shelf. Just shorten the length to match the width of the door and nail through the hollow pins (if you have them).
Chains are a great idea for this! I've got a hidden room in the basement under a staircase that is behind a book shelf very similar to this. It has about a 2.5" front board to keep books and CDs from falling off when it is swinging. So, if no old/spare chains lying around, some wood would do the trick too!
Or they can line the door frame with it.
If Macky hasn't gotten around to sanding that track on the floor - don't do it! The reason it's making that noise is if the caster is non-swiveling it's partially dragging as the shelf swings in it's arc. Just replace it with a swiveling caster - preferably a good quality one with a high weight rating and urethane tire. It *should* track better with less dragging and less noise. Shop looks great by the way! Really enjoying you folks' content!
Your set up is amazing! I have really enjoyed watching it come together as well as your house renos. Goals right there!
Congratulations on the wonderful project. I love the love you two express to each other. Keep making your excellent videos.
Love Macky's swinging ideas! Congrats on the 100k,Syd!
Nice work guys. The swing wall and shelves are really great ideas.
I'd love to see "Syd fixes bikes" live on, Seth from Berm Peak does some interesting bike building vids but he often uses tools or techniques that I don't quite understand. When Syd does similar things they're explained in a way that I can follow along to.
Trail side repairs using limited tools would be a great short series.
Congrats on your RUclips 100K subscriber award and keep up the good work on Syd fixes bikes!
You should both be very proud of Syd Fixes Bikes! I love it and have used several of the videos. If you came to my local shop / area to film a video for the channel, I'd 100% come see it in person.
Congrats on 100k Syd Fixes Bikes!
I LOVE what you have done with everything in what was your garage. Great areas for bike storage, working out and for your shop and filming area. As for the "Syd fixes bike" channel, "yes" I would love to see that continue. The reality is that both channels have something for everyone, and I appreciate all of your efforts!!
Macky, your dad is in amazing shape!
Congrats on the RUclips Plaque !!! Your guys determination and persistence are extremely impressive! And as far as different videos, I'm sure your fans will tell you they enjoy seeing most anything you guys do! You guys (and your families) are always entertaining!
Foodshots 5/5, also dad is one helluva sportsman!
Positive this was already done in Syd's bike build vid, but yes, it's always great to see how the space came to be! Love how that shelf unit and the whole space in general has more product and bikes than many bike shops these days!
Wow 100k subscribers for SYD fixes bikes! Congratulations!
Sid.. Mackys wall door turned out cool, I was unsure. You guys are awesome
Super nice guys. I'm in the middle of building our off grid mountain toy space now. I like the hidden closet.
What would be "more awesome" would be to build another frame that would fit on the outside of the "swinging wall," and then add reclaimed wood to it. That would hide the shelves, which to me...no matter how well you organize it, will always look cluttered. That way, when you want what's on the shelves, you just swing open the outer "added wall of reclaimed wood" to get what you need. But....the entire thing could still be swung open if you wanted into the closet. You would have to remove those bottom-shelf items that stick out, but you can find another home for them. I just think it would tidy it up a LOT if that was a solid reclaimed wood wall for Syd's videos!
I like the idea of evolving Syd Fixes Bike. Maybe you could interview team mechanics for tips, etc. How abut talking to the Niner crew who design the bikes and ask what they take into consideration regarding future repairs when they design their gear?
Absolutely love the new shop and everything that went in it! It's a cyclist paradise! I enjoy watching all the goings-on and the banter. Congratulations on the 1K subscriber plaque!🏆🥳
Happy to see the funky stool came to the new place with you!
Viewers note: you two are awesome. Syd, you should go fix bikes all over and learn from other mechanics.
Congrats on such an awesome workshop/gym space. I love the creativity that went into it.
I LOVE Syd Fixes Bikes!
We're moving to Colorado from Florida this weekend and I'm SO EXCITED to move there!
Yeah, swingers baby!...I used to be a swinger myself back in the 60's before Ms. Shagwell made me a proper man. But I'm still a swinger at heart...you know what I mean? Yeah, baby! -Austin P.
As a fellow garage nerd. Well done 👏🏼 a purposeful space created to fit a need. So many ways to do a garage - automotive, game room, man cave, home gyms. And yes. Childhood secret rooms a la James Bond secret doors are a thing!
That was awesome to see come together. (Also loved the editor's notes). Oddly, and maybe it's may Nordic ancestry, but I was somehow happier to see the cross-country skis than I was the bikes all organized and ready.
Super awesome vlog as usual guys and looks so cute during fighting for tools 😍and this garage build project Rocks hope I also have a dream Home or garage like you God bless you guys 🙏 with Lots of Love ❤️🙏 Very Happy for you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video as always 👍. Sorry not been watching much , just seeing bikes makes me miss mine . Glad your getting back riding too sid awsome news 😀 👍
Looks amazing!
Good job Syd and Macky I love the wood walls.
Enjoying this content! And good on your Dad for the push ups. Those were good push ups too!
This turned out amazing! Im planning to create myself a "bike rep corner" in the near future too, so your build vlogs came at just the right time for me 😊
I found your solutions and ideas pretty inspirational. Gets me thinking about my own plans, and modifying them accordingly. Thanks for the Vid and congrats!
Some great videos latley had a little break latley but this has been great tp watch and both you're parents are so nice 👍
Meant to comment this sincethe last video:
Thank you for the upgrade to 4k!!! Definitely looks better :)
Awesome looking garage! Plus points for secret doors!
Try 1 in. Roller Ball Bearings from Harbor Freight for the swinging shelves.
Fantastic! The garage is transformed into an amazing gym/bike shop/studio! Love it… but one minor minor nit… maybe paint or stain the swinging shelves to match the beautiful recovered wood wall?
Amazing job guys. Looks awesome
U guys r awesome but Mackys dad is AWESOME. Always enjoy ur vids. Take care
Good work as always!👍
Great bike shop! the house is nice too. Thanks.
Wonderful. Enjoy!
Dad is a beast with pushups!!
Love your bike videos alot enjoy watching and it helps me out on my bike to love bike riding
Very nice 👍
love it
Swinging things FTW! 🤪
Next you'll have the local Swingers call by.
Love. Plus, Macky is a man after my own (OCD) heart ...
You are not very wrong about the toolwall @14:57
put some ruber weels , it wiil be smooth :)
Nice .......( Hello from France )
You two remind me of Eamon and Bec (and Eamons dad who comes over to help like Macky’s dad). Really enjoy the new channel although it’s the main channel that brought me here. On the swinging book shelf, I would put all those parts into a storage solution than have them sat there, looks too cluttered, even after Macky tried neatening it.
Rubber roller blade wheel swap with jockey wheel on shelf
awesome video guys!!!
The dream build
Admit it Mackie: Your childhood dream was to build the Batcave.
RJ the Bike Guy would be a great collaborator! Berm Peak!
No pokey tool !!!
999.997 subcribes for Syd: congratulations. With Macky's 3 more makes 100.000 😂. Greetings from Belgium.
Please do a Syd Fixes Bikes and Frank the Welder collaboration!!!
Please fortify that garage. You've got more stock in there than some bike shops!
Atomic Bob™ 👍🏻
nice
Macky what wheel did you use for that murphy door?
Random 125# capacity wheels from a hardware store.
Berry, berry bice ... I have a cold.
Why do so many homes have the washer and dryer in the dirtiest part of a house (the garage)? 🤔
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What floor tiles are those?
Snap lock I think. They came with the house 😁
Macky's OCD was kicking in big time.........LOL
I thought Syd did all of the editing, which is organizing footage. Seems like she's the more organizationally inclined one. 😘
Macky organizes the footage and then I edit it 😂😂😂 so unfortunately he has a point
@@sydandmacky can't be good at everything🤷♂️
good stuff guys..im a few days late on this one..WOW over a 100k subs in just over a year..Man..ive worked on mikiesonTV for YEARS and only to 270 LOL!! I finally gave up and just dump videos here from my new "failing" channel..hahah!!! :D oh well..we cant all be AWESOME! SYD you know Macky by now..He has a vision for things..AND usually it turns out..now kiss and make up lol...Good luck in 2022 guys!!
Wonderful and inspiring video! You're seriously wrong in one respect, though: A project like this will never be "finished" - not in a day, not in a month, not in a year, not in a lifetime! Nevertheless, I wish you a long and happy time in this continuously evolving "shed" ;-) Keep swinging ...
name of the song ?...
What headphones Syd? Aftershokz?
Yes!

RUclips 100k subs prize.
SYD and MACKY -> 77.4K subscribers
uhm... ?!...
We have 100k on our second channel, ruclips.net/user/sydfixesbikes 😉 but I can see how that was confusing
@@sydandmacky nah. I meant - this channel created 3 tears earlier and yet it has less subs than newer one.. where's the Justice?!..
Yeah, I think it's because the other channel is better for RUclips (people know what to expect, it's a how to channel, etc). We're hoping we can keep growing and eventually reach 100k here too!
All good except for those horrible 3 way allen keys on your tool wall
Sixers all the way.
Its all ball bearings these days
How old is your Dad? :-)
77!
@@sydandmacky You never would know it. He is looking good. :-)
