In this video tutorial, Joshua Casper shows you how to control your favorite VSTi virtual synth plugins with the Scales & Chords Player in the Reason Lite Rack Plugin.
The process is simple. One one MIDI channel load the Reason Lite Rack Plugin. Then add the MIDI Out Device and the Scales & Chords Player. That's all that needs to be done in there.
On a second MIDI channel in your DAW add the instrument you wish to control. Then, in Ableton Live, in the MIDI In top drop down menu choose Reason Rack Plugin and again from the second drop down menu. FInally, set the monitor to IN.
Then make sure to Arm the Reason Rack MIDI channel.
Now, when you play Scales and/or Chords with the Scales & Chords Player they will trigger the instrument you have loaded on that second MIDI Channel.

hi joshua im trying to set this up but in my second drop down menue im not getting reason rack just post. anyone knows whats wrong ?id really appreciate the help .

This does not work for me... so frustrating.
I am running Ableton 11.0.12 + Reason 12.
The part at 1:09 where you say "you must be connected to reason rack plugin."
The Reason rack plugin is not showing up as an option.
Anyone got the same issue or suggestions?
Definitely needs a way to control the Note Amount, Inversions, Open & Closed Chords, Color Notes and Octaves on the fly. Basically just rip off what Chord Prism did and you're good to go!

Any idea why Reason Rack isn't showing up in the dropdown menu at all??

How much it cost to go from that version to the full reason daw?

No. The plugin gets installed with the standalone. Though, you don't ever have to launch the standalone to use the plugin. Hope that makes sense. - JC
