    It's a great looking machine, I purchased one from Ebay nearly 3 weeks ago and it hasnt run through one charge, seals torn up because of metal shavings. Missing two seals at the servos the metal probably had something to do with that. Wire going to battery plug wasn't soldered so that caused a no start , so that was a easy fix. And that screw you had break on you it must be a common thing both of mind broke, the cylinders would never stay up I would bleed over and over and the seller said I didn't have enough oil in it that's why I went inside the excavator, immediately I seen a seal hanging out from under the reservoir lid,I was like yea its ready nope not a chance they stripped one of the hydraulic lines on the rail, so at this time I should have sent it back but I've had several excavator and I'll fix it the main problem was the clean up on the pump gears and body they left all the burs. So if you buy one and you start having problems take it back. This excavator looks like this was there first time building it 6 ot of 8 hydraulic rail bolts we're lose where it bolts close to pump. Lack of experience was the main problem. So I'm going to buy a new pump and set up for this.

      You right on all the issues. This was a poorly made machine. I would suggest people ot buy it. Look at getting the magom hydraulic 580 and you won't be disappointed.

      @@RCConstructionHobby My 580 hyuina hydraulic conversion has been nearly bullet proof. The kabolite needs alot of attention like the hydraulics and electronics. One of the things I noticed right away is the motor on mind wouldn't run seperate so it seems real weak, I like my pump to run wide open, I'll never mess with kabolite products again.

    Hi, I saw in a comment that you modified the battery housing at accommodate a gens ace 7.4v 2s 5000mah shorty lipo. What was involved in that? I recently ordered a 336 (has not arrived yet) and I need a few spare batteries. I'm having difficulty locating factory kabolite batteries in the US. What connector is on them XT30? Any aftermarket batteries you recommend that would fit? Thank You! and great videos!

    • @RCConstructionHobby
      @RCConstructionHobby  3 года назад

      The battery case mod is for the 580. The 336 has a big battery compartment. It comes with a 10000mah battery. So you should have enough battery to last. I would be more worried about leaks and hydraulic issues if the model you get is an older one. I think the newer ones might be fixed but this particular model has been plagued with issues. Hopefully yours does not have any problems.

    very good video with many important information, because i own this beautiful excavator since 5 month, but first i had very less information, manual was very small(FM-Electronic), about servicing the hydraulik, changing hdoil and so on. I have yet the problem, that pressure of boom and arm is not stable, its slowly sinking, when pump does not run. Several other comments say, that is because pump is not running and its normal, but i believe , that valvepositions are not exakt, do you have more information or tipps for that problem?
    thanks

    • @RCConstructionHobby
      @RCConstructionHobby  3 года назад +1

      The boomcshould not sag. You might have to adjust the valve servo for the boom. They do come loose and need to be adjusted.

      You would look for endpoint and adjust how far the servos move. Also you can adjust the servos by changing the expo/rate for when the servos start to move and how fast.

    Really nice metalwork and details, like the 1/50 display models. A bit 'boring' that as this is regarded a mid level' model, they just give you a 1/16 (great along with Bruder naturally), not a full size 1/14 to match Tamiya. It would had cost quite few bucks extra to make it full-size, but that's their chioce. The chinese still got a way to go with hydraulics, and avoiding the cheapest electronics in their models, but within 3-5 years we will possible see another level of quality at this price point. More and more companies jump into this over there, which is great

    • @RCConstructionHobby
      @RCConstructionHobby  2 года назад

      Yep you are right. The chinese models are still a little far from great. Also they are not even accurate with the scale as these are more 1/20 or 1/18 scale. But I time they will get it right Nd more competition will be there.

    I've been reviewing this vid several times as it seems I'm going to have to do this on my brand new machine. The boom lift cylinders leak down quickly and some other hydraulic circuits when activated cause movement in another (it could be lack of skill with the sticks). Anyway you commented to be sure to replace the filler cap to prevent a great mess, what I am wondering is if I need to drain the tank in order to dismantle the pump and blocks without creating a mess? It seems to me that the oil would flow out the ports once they are opened.

    • @RCConstructionHobby
      @RCConstructionHobby  3 года назад +1

      Really depends on draining the oil. If it is a quick repair then no, but if you are taking everything apart I would suggest draining oil as if you move the stick or boom or bucket oil will come out. If nothing moves oil won't come out. As for stick moving, it means the valve is not completely closed so check that the set screw on the servos are tight and not slipping. Also check to make sure the valves are horizontal and not slightly skewed. These machines have issues with sealing properly.

    • @hoverhead047
      @hoverhead047 3 года назад

      @@RCConstructionHobby What a day I've had with my 336GC. Upon removing the top I found oil over the tank, along the base and over some of the electronics. I discovered a screw was missing at the boom mount, the other three were loose. A severely cross threaded servo mount screw that wouldn't move with an allen key and took the use of pliers for pretty much the whole thread. That servo (No1) was maladjusted just a little. But the best part was when I was undoing the last 4 screws on the last block (Manifold?) the two short ones were already loose. When I got them out one was half snapped. But when I reinstalled the other it snapped just as it cinched. Now I have two broken M2.5 x 28 screws to try and find.

    • @RCConstructionHobby
      @RCConstructionHobby  3 года назад +1

      I would suggest returning the excavator to be honest with who ever you bought it from. It shouldn't be like that. I am still waiting on parts to fix the one I have. It is a dust collector right now but if I did buy it and it was the way you say I would ask to send it back. But if they won't take it back then ask for the newer upgraded pump assembly to fix it. It's a lot of money to Pay for something that doesn't work well.

    • @hoverhead047
      @hoverhead047 3 года назад

      @@RCConstructionHobby What parts are you waiting on? I've disassemble two rotary valves and found pretty ordinary machining and damaged O ring on the shafts. I think I can get the O rings locally and I've lapped the valve faces on some 1200 wet and dry (wet). I could get my oil stone and really smooth them out. Such a shame this model has been let down by poor workmanship of the hydraulics.

      Non è un sistema lipo 3s. Penso che 2S sia davvero il massimo per la macchina normale. Se aumenti i punti finali sulla pompa puoi ottenere più velocità, ma penso che il sistema idraulico debba essere cambiato in un sistema migliore.

    Hey I have a question I am hoping you may be able to help me with ... I have noticed my hydraulic oil getting quite warm / hottish when working the machine hard in hot weather ... and i know it will more than likely be fine .... but I love tinkering / modifying (and this is a Hobby, right?) ... so I have bought a small 2" x 2" oil cooler, with a fan on it, and im wanting to add it into the hydraulic system ... my question is ... does the oil always flow from the tank to the pump in 1 direction? And if it does ... do you suggest I put the cooler between the tank and the pump, so it cools the oil before going through the pump? Im thinking this would be best to have the oil cooled as much as possible before being pumped through the system. Thoughts?

    • @RCConstructionHobby
      @RCConstructionHobby  3 года назад

      Sorry just noticed your comment. Adding a oil cooler is good but it does not solve the problem of the hydraulics running hot there is a bigger problem with the design and really should be a new pump or valves. I ha e the same problem and the thing just comes to a stop after a couple minutes.

Assicurati che quando accendi il trasmettitore che i servi siano tutti centrati e dovrebbe fermare il droop. Ma l'altro problema è che le guarnizioni per le valvole non stanno facendo un buon lavoro di tenuta.
