    Something i really need to comment about BTS mixtapes is that they produce and write them themselves, they are free and a gift for fans. A few idols do have their solo albums, but when BTS do solo albums there are no promotion, just a heads up for the fans and a MV for the lead single. They upload it first on SoundCloud, but Spotify and Apple do pick them up so even if it is free fans buy the songs, a king move was when D2 dropped and all 10 tracks took the top 10 spots on the World Digital Song Sales chart.

      and d-2 charted in the top 20 of the billboard 200 (#11 i think?) even though it's a free mixtape. insane. yoongi even gave us a google drive link for the tracks😭

      That's why they are called mixtapes and not solo albums

    • @brankavmin1969
      @brankavmin1969 3 года назад +13

      @@valerialegler225 i know that is what the name should represent, but in kpop there are a few examples where they use the term lightly, they would promote a song as a lead single and just add the name mixtape beside it (cuz one of the members participated in writing it). Also a lot of people forget what a mixtape really means and as Kpop got really popular i see a lot of them comparing solo albums of other artists with BTS mixtapes, that is why i felt the need to clarify that... those other albums were made for the market and carefully crafted by a whole team, not the artist, not that there is anything wrong with that, i just don't want others to forget the real treasure true mixtapes are.

      that just show how much Army care about the craft itself. we care about the value of their work. we deeply believe that their craft deserve to be bough. not only because it's top tier content, but also because as artist it's their job and their deserve to be paid for their hard work. as for the boys they see how much we care about their art so they also work hard to make sure that they will never present us a mediocre project. and I really love that synergy between the boys and us.

    I just love how BTS has THIS ability to make people reflect on such important issues. They don’t try to please people anymore, they speak facts. I actually had to read the lyrics multiple times to fully understand but Strange is masterclass. It’s also my favorite track of Agust D’s latest mixtape.

    I think other have mentioned this before, but I would really try to stay away from the color coded lyric videos from Lemoring and Jaeguchi. They often have tons of mistranslations, and it's a shame because so often they're just putting lyrics through google translate to get the videos out ASAP. I know you guys don't do this, but I've seen some people say that BTS lyrics are nonsensical when in reality they were just watching badly translated lyric videos.

    Yoongi grew up with parents who disapproved of his passion for rapping and writing music, struggled through tough times as a teenager, has ADHD and a history of depression/anxiety. He’s an introvert and like to be alone, more serious than the others but has these moments where he gets talkative, excited or silly, which is really funny to see. He has an obvious sense of humour but it’s usually of the dry or witty variety lol. If you watch the progression of his personality and music from 2013 to now, you’d notice a huge change. I’d say he’s much happier than he used to be, and seems not to try as hard to be extroverted, is happy with himself. I initially became interested in him because I was so perplexed by his unique personality, and how he could rap and perform with such charisma, and write such deep lyrics while ‘seeming’ so stale otherwise. I would totally suggest watching run bts to get a better sense of it!

    FYI ⚠ NEVER use lyric videos from the channels Jaeguchi or Lemoring. Most of the time their translations are wrong and they sometimes mess up which member is singing at different parts. The only reason their videos have so many views is that they always try to make their videos as fast as possible after a song is released. They don't care for quality only views.

  • @palomaclaverol1172
    @palomaclaverol1172 3 года назад +2

    One of the best things about any BTS rap-line song is how, as the members trade off verses, you get to see how differently each approaches the subject at hand, RM's verse is parallel with the verse by Agust D; they show different attitudes towards the same problems but the verses complement each other very well.
    Agust D questioned why the one that has his eyes open in a world that has its eyes closed is treated as a mutant while RM says that for him is more strange that somebody has his eyes open (can anyone be truly “outside” of this broken system enough to critique it objectively?)
    Then Agust D makes the question "Who's this benefits the most?" And RM's answer is nobody, because our choices doesn't matter, everything is under control so it always benefits the system.
    Agust D talked about how people always says "have a dream" when nobody really has one and how strange is that there is no correct answer and RM says that when having a dream have become a option, there is no correct answer and *that's* the answer.
    Thanks for the video!

He just has bursts of energy and then goes back to being the group's lovable old man. I know you guys want to focus on music, performances for the group but if you ever get some time, even not as a reaction. check out some of their RUN BTS episodes they are hilarious. Thank you for reacting to this, about polarization, the prounounce of polarization and flower in korean are similiar, that's why they compare polarization with a flower.
    And thank you for sharing your thoughts about the lyrics, because for BTS mixtapes, they did everything themselves, from composing, writing lyrics, until producing the album. This song is a collab from 2 amazing artists.

    React to BTS- HIP HOP LOVER. If y’all want to know how much BTS knows so much of the hip hop culture itself you’ll be surprised of the legend MCS AND HIP HOP ARTIST in hip hop they mention and those artists are the reason why RM, SUGA & J HOPE are the greatest in their craft when it comes to their lyrics, cadences, flow, rhymes word for word! You’ll see what I’m talking about when you react to it! They show and pay REAL HOMAGE AND RESPECT to the OGS and LEGENDS that made hip hop what it is in the culture

    I guess the thing about polarisation is, that it's usually used to understand things - especially if something or someone is new to you, you use your preconceived ideas (usually) to get an initial understanding of who or what I'm observering or experiencing. But I agree with you so much. It's difficult to to put away all preconceived notions and be open to the array of variations and colours of a person or things. I guess what I really dislike about the aspects of polarization is the limitations. I don't want to be limited or conceived in a narrowminded and unnuanced way. People are so many things - just like you started of saying about Yoongi too. He is so much more, and not at all a cold person (from what I can tell through videos, media and lyrics).
    Love when you dive into their lyrics - and you do it so well. Excited for the next ones. Have a great Sunday :-)

    Yoongi is chill but mostly because he's a very introverted person. With you, he'd be just shy and maybe a lil bit uncomfortable. He's always shy and quiet around strangers. He's very outgoing only with people he knows well or really likes, like BTS and his other friends. And he's VERY funny 😊
    The actually "chill" and "silent assassin" type of person would probably be Taehyung, although he's still a very nice guy (like all of BTS).

    Strange is really such a great song. Having as good a translation as possible would help you whenever listening to BTS' music. The rappers use a lot of wordplay and it helps to have a good translation. Doolset, an ARMY, has translated BTS' albums, member's solo works and their Soundcloud uploads as well because she wants people to enjoy and understand BTS' lyrics. Lyric vids can often be filled with errors. It's easiest to watch them for reactions but if you're interested in the lyrics check her site out. Doolset: doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/

    jaeguchi really is the worst for lyric translations. they just rush to put songs through a translator and be the first ones out to post for views. you miss so much. I think since you guys put so much attention to lyrics, it would be really beneficial for you to read the translations through doolsetbangtan.
