The main reason a podcast becomes popular is because of the host. Podcasts (new version of talk shows) can’t be popular without its popular host. The Oprah show is not the same without Oprah. Jerry Springer show is not the same without Jerry.
Biological vs Chronological Age: I have a scale that weighs me that gives me all kinds of parameters on the app, including body fat, one of which is my biological age. Not winning. Currently biologically 7 years older. Working on it. I take metformin for diabetes.
Instead of Metformin, it would be best to just eat low glycemic foods and replace some of the carbs with healthy fats. Reducing blood sugar so much that you become hypoglycemic is not going to prolong life.

I’m the listing broker for the $15m podcast for sale. The seller is committed to a long term partnership with the buyer. And understands a non compete is going to be required.
Zero disrespect meant by this, but I'm curious how you and John, I mean, the seller came up with that asking price? It's close to 7x EBITA and has all the "cons" that the boys discussed in the pod. The biggest being, it really seems like John has maximized revenue from that pod. He is a legitimate business person and less of just a content creator. So it's unlikely a new seller could just 2 or 3x revenue. Just curious what the conversation was like from your prospective.
@@brunothegreat2844 I find it to be in a fair price. If you have interest in the audience, it's a low price to reach them forever. And you could grow the audience easily, by translating all the episodes. In LatAm we also like these kind of podcasts, but just a few can understand them. Just see how well is doing "Mr. Beast En Español" and it was made without much investment.
@@brunothegreat2844 I did a comparables based business valuation and suggested a price to the seller, he took that under advisement and decided the listing price. We're closing deals as high as 9x LTM EBITDA when they are 5+ years old and over $2m last twelve months EBITDA and growing. The seller has not maximized his audience (has only grown organically, paid media and advertising hasn't been explored deeply), he has not maximized is offerings (low ticket memberships, high ticket coaching and an annual or bi annual live event/summit could all easily double or triple his EBITDA (I have clients doing $5m+ per year in EBITDA without his branding or exposure... wait... that may be a smart partnership). The seller is also steadfast in his commitment to the brand and prepared for a multi year engagement to continue hosting, which may well be 2-5+ years depending on the buyer's desire. Lots going for this deal, and with over 52 NDAs signed and buyers inquiring it should be interesting to see what happens. Our first round of calls is next week.

I think EO Fire (if that's indeed what this listing is) is a tough sell at anywhere close to that price. More than the financials it's a brand issue IMO - charging entrepreneurs to come on and talk about themselves 1. doesn't win you much love with the people you're charging over the long haul who say yes out of some blend of desperation for awareness and overestimating the value of appearing on a podcast, however big, 2. dilutes the perceived value of the show because the filter is guests' willingness to pay rather than entrepreneurial achievements, and 3. goes against the grain of the overall podcasting model which is more about long-term goodwill and relationships that lead to bigger things on the back end. I've always thought EO Fire had the value ladder backwards and that's why, as the guys pointed out, it's not generally thought of as one of the top podcasts for value in its category even though it's been able to brute force its way into the public sphere bc of its longevity and profitability. The value in buying it IMO would be for the audience and the PR splash of reinventing it to a better long-term model but that opportunity ain't worth $15M!
All epigenetic clocks currently out are flawed and not real measures of biological age and definitely not an accurate barometer of health and longevity. You can game them by doing things like injecting yourself with a boat load of epitalon and they’ll show you’re new biological age is that of a child. You might also just end up with premature cancer though by exploiting the natural length of your telomeres, we don’t really know. Those clocks are not something I’d proudly want to win until better measures of biological age exists. 12:13
There's something that I have to say about vegetarians. Because of the lack of meat, their skin and muscles are a complete disaster. You have to be careful of what vegetables to eat because plants have natural defense chemicals in them. You age quicker if you're a vegetarian because red meat has the telomerase gene, and your body needs the telomerase gene so that your cells can make copies of new cells. The telomerase gene also rejuvenates your chromosomes. Vegetarians don't live long, it's what you eat in moderation.
If sugar spike (prevention of that is) the secret to long life, then best to do a search on Maqui Berry extract or take a supplement like Glucoberry. :)
I don't know why I still look 25 at 40, but I really do. It's probably just a correlation but I've been a vegetarian from childhood and don't like candy.
I'm not sure there's much evidence for Metformin in people who already exercise - much of its benefit is analogous to benefit from exercise, IIRC. I tried it myself for a month or so - and I kinda felt that it was making things worse. I do take Nicotinamide Riboside - although that possibly also needs some care... The real issue here is that you're trying to modify the normal functioning of the human body, and control systems that actually have some reasoning behind them - so when you mess with the system, it also pushes back. The ideal case... Would be to have the means to override our bodies' natural regulation systems, and put it all under an artificially intelligent system (which frankly, could be a nightmarish undertaking, given our current level of technology - but maybe not in terms of tech from 10-15 years from now, once AI accelerates scientific development itself)

My cousin lost 50 lbs doing the steak diet. It worked well for him but what he didn't realize to his body he technically was on a no carb diet maintaining low insulin levels. A better way to do it is clean protein and low glycemic vegetables.
Metformin is used for diabetics. Improves the problem of Insulin resistance.
Just finding this for the first time, liked and subscribed thank you.
60 is the new 40
I don't know, but listing it for sale like this is great guerilla advertising for the podcast. May have been the actual goal.
The strategy for buying, make the whole thing AI that is trained on all his past episodes and passively run the thing. Then grow your popularity on that platform. I would assume their would be an earn out of some kind as well with the founder.
@@Ryan.G.Spalding the founder plan to remain a minority owner, continue his duties and partner with a buyer that helps make it a $100m deal, ie a Sirius deal
I take metformin for 10 years my doctor prescribed for my type two diabetes. But I switch to Berberine and Benfotiamine
Charlie Munger and Buffet both are still alive and kicking. How do they do it? Both of them?? In their 90s?? Could be they already taking the juice.
Crazy idea: just cut out the carbs instead of taking a drug… 🤦♂️
Wait until people understand about micro dosing true coke. If you snort or smoke it, then you will be negatively affected by it. And like everything thing else you have to cycle on and off.
What does that do and what is real coke
@snorttroll4379 coke that hasn't been tampered with. Aka stepped on etc
@snorttroll4379 it will get your body to relax and then your mind can relax and then the body heals. For starters. But you need to have a purpose. All things can be used or abused.
You're going back to the original Coca-Cola formula.
Everyone should be taking the red pill
NMN is in the forefront right now. The FDA is trying to regulate it.
Is it blood sugar spikes or the insulin spikes that decrease longevity? Although related, they are two different things. My guesstimate is the insulin spike that decreases longevity.
Podcast sale is probably a marketing play
Guarantee the pod has seen an uptick in listeners since this was released
Smart to not reveal the name as it adds mystery/fixation knowing it would be easily found

favela, also spelled favella, in Brazil, a slum or shantytown located within or on the outskirts of the country's large cities, especially Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. A favela typically comes into being when squatters occupy vacant land at the edge of a city and construct shanties of salvaged or stolen materials.

How many offers do you have?

Before you get carried away on Metformin you might want to look at the issues with muscle atrophy it causes!
The visual used for the documentary when talking about conor was his old one notorious, the new one is called mcgregor forever which is referenced. Don't mind me just being a nerd and catching stuff like this, but I do edit videos and also am a software developer if you are open to hiring me :)
Agreed. But somebody will probably buy it and there may even be a bid for it.

You buy rapamycin as a research chemical from grainger industries
I just hope Elizabeth Holmes doesn't start the testing service for the age testing thing you were talking about! 😂
Larry Ellison named his company Oracle, because that was the name of the CIA program the company was spun off from
There are already many true age tests and many are connected to selling health and longevity products.
Money still can't buy lifespan, it takes commitment and willpower.

Just because Someone doesn’t agree with your life style doesn’t mean they are against it either.
If sugar spike (prevention of that is) the secret to long life, then best to do a search on Maqui Berry extract or take a supplement like Glucoberry. :)

Methelyne blue also helps with diabetes as well as the mitichondria disfunction.
Metformin is the diabetes drug, and it’s benefits are way, *way* overblown per the data so far.
I don't know why I still look 25 at 40, but I really do. It's probably just a correlation but I've been a vegetarian from childhood and don't like candy.
I agree, death is weird, one min you are here and next you are gone. I guess that is because life is a simulation!
How about Tom Cruise for rejuvenation Olympics ?
I just got a newsletter recommending me to take an Ozempic weightloss course lol. I have pre-diabetes symptoms so I might take it
Just learn to eat healthier.
One of the possible side effects of Ozempic is cancer.
No one has tested the stuff long enough to know how bad the side effects can be.
And there are always side effects.
The bigger the effect, the bigger the side effects.
It's not worth it, most of the weight loss on Ozempic is muscle loss.

My cousin lost 50 lbs doing the steak diet. It worked well for him but what he didn't realize to his body he technically was on a no carb diet maintaining low insulin levels. A better way to do it is clean protein and low glycemic vegetables. Alternate day intermittent fasting works well too but when losing weight to fast the body is more susceptible to gallbladder issues so take malic acid to counter that.
