I just got this timepiece yesterday, the watch looks much better than the one in the picture. The bezel , dial and case are amazingly well done. I am very happy with this purchase.
Absolutely beautiful. What a quality piece. Seiko might be one thing only to some people, however I am usually impressed with what they can bring to the table in many different price ranges. Nice pick up!

I tried to to see why many in the community disliked this release and tried to understand why they saw it as too expensive, but I couldn’t. I think it’s still great value for the price considering that things all together are becoming more expensive. Yeah, you could argue that SEIKO should offer 5 positions chronometer adjustment for the asking price and that’s just it. Other than that, the watch is masterfully-industrially crafted to great standards, and in an essence it’s like a mechanical version of a Prospex LX that is leaner and I love that. Yeah, congrats to Sanjay. One hell of a watch and I’m a liiiiittle jealous lol.

I just got my first GS (SBGA413). Wow. I’m bitten by the GS bug. The case, dial, spring drive, titanium that looks just like stainless steel with that perfect polishing, wow! Congrats on your new GS 👍
The SLA 021 has a "Prospex" crown logo. SLA 055 & 057 flatter, trimmer design. Seiko's getting incrementally close to acceptable specs, I'm 70 y/o, probably too late for me?
Congrats on the new watch! I have big 8.5” wrists so the MM300 wears extremely well on me but I understand wanting a bit smaller version of the MM300 for the smaller waisted. Happy Holidays
Best part of that watch is not looking like a tool in front of your family or friends, you know, like they way you would look if you were wearing a shiny Breitling. When your sister asks "hey nice watch, how much was it?" You can respond back by saying "oh, it was only like $300. I got with a coupon at JC penny's." Funny thing is they will believe you, because it resembles the mall case seiko divers.🤣
Merry Christmas Sanjay :) This is a nice piece and looks great on your wrist. Definitely something to consider buying, picked an spb143j1, the re-edition, and it's been on my wrist for nearly 2 weeks. I need to see yours in own eyes but the size seems right for my wrist. I would prefer it on a bracelet with rubber/leather/text. straps. The strap is a bit long for your wrist and unfortunately your can't crop it at the end since the logo is there. What you can do is remove the strap, place it in a mug (small) curved. Poor hot water and let it rest for 10-15 sec. Then remove it and put it in cold water. Hot makes it soft and curved, cold will make it firm and maintain its curves. It'll sit better on your wrist and at the buckle. Tempted myself with one of these, currently have a whole bunch of the higher end Seikos already sla17/25/33, mm300/600, sbga229 etc so I definately don't need it but would love to have a model with the ever brilliant steel.. can you really tell the difference looks wise to regular steel?
I don't think personally I would let QC issue slide at this price point. Your watches issues are not so bad to be far, I was this close to buying a Marinemaster 300m but I think I will look elsewhere now.
@@engineer_wannabe I have stated on other videos of this watch that I don't think this ref is worth the money (for 90% of people), when you could get a used Seamaster 300m or another Seiko divers (Marinemaster / SPB187) but knowing your collecting history, this is a perfect watch for you and your unusual but good taste! Wears fine on your wrist, big watches will wear big that's the idea. Great video and content as always!

Hey there, To my knowledge, there are only 2 ref numbers for this watch: SLA055J1 and SBDX049 both are the same watch. Some people shorten the ref to SLA055. If you want one from Japan, you want the SBDX049. (But this is not like the SKX with the J model and the K model etc) As for a good online store, I'm not able to help you there since I never buy online. Hope you and your family are doing well 🙂
I have not handled the SLA043, I have spent a good amount of time with the SLA037. Bezels feel pretty similar but I think the 055 is easier to grip and use. Comfort is entirely in the favour of the SLA055 for me. The SLA037(Which is similar to the 043) was a bit too thick
@@engineer_wannabe SLA043 is indeed an awesome watch, sadly ruined by its awfully thick case. Also, pretty much ALL Grand Seiko divers suffer that very same issue.
A lot of the Seiko divers such as the Marinemaster or sla017 use stamped indices instead of applied ones. Do you know if that's the case with this watch?
Congrats - it's big but it looks great on your wrist. What a great way to close 2021. Are you sure the chapter ring lines up at 12? it's minor but still a bit of a bummer on a watch at this price point - but it's probably within Seiko's specs.

You absolutely can. It gleams like no other steel watch I've seen. Including the GSes. You need to get a hold of one in person!

Nice looking watch. Seiko makes a great product. I have two seikos, a citizen and two pulsars. They are all good reliable watches.
