"if only i had seen all envid' video ,i could have been a good english speaker ." is my sentence okay in grammar point of view and thank you ma'm for such a great lesson .
Devendra Pratap Almost, you would want to add “of” after “all” and an S after the apostrophe on envid. Last, you want to make video plural, videos. “If only I had seen all of envid’s videos [...]”
I would and I wish are the regrettable expressions of our failures in the past .The past is history, get over it . Start thinking, I will , I can etc..etc...
If only I had a chance precludes others from having a chance, whereas If I only had a chance implies that I don't have a chance, but that if I did I could be able to do something.

Hi Rebecca! I am studying english for 4 years and I am not confident at speaking. I learned lots of things but as I have a very bad memory I cannot remember what to say when I talk to people in english (every week!) and that makes me think of giving up of learning english. Do you have any suggestion for me? How to practice in a more effective way? Maybe I am bored of studying english? What do you recommend me?
I have lerned a lot playing videogames and watching movies en English. Maybe that could be useful for you too =) You need to practice. No shortcuts! Peace!
hlo mam i really leran more by watching your videos. your way of talking is really excellent. please post more videos for ielts academic preparation test.

Marcio A.F. - That’s a good question. In the context that Rebecca used it’s usual to say the phrase as she did. We often use the contraction “I’d” to abbreviate “I had”. However, just to confirm that English can be contrary, many years ago there was a famous song by John Rowles called “If I Only Had Time”. It’s on RUclips if you’re interested to hear the way it’s used there. Wishing you all the best with your lessons!
Hi Guys. I would like to ask something about this topic. If the formal letter is written in GT IELTS task 1, is there any difference using I wish I had or If only I had? So, which one should be used in the formal letter?
Hi Rebecca, May i have a question about this sentence and please tell me it is correct or incorrect? Mary wants to be in the swimming pool now --> - She wishes she WAS in the swimming pool now - She wishes she WERE in the swimming pool now Which sentence is correct? Thanks
However, in everyday English in America, I don't know if this is also the case in Canada, they prefer to use the pattern; would have. So Americans will usually say it like; I wish I would have studied more and I wish I wouldn't have eaten so much!! I suppose it's a wrong structure but they use it anyway!!
You are one of the best English teachers in the world
