Hello, just came across your video. Very nice, I used to work in a camera shop around this time. The Ace was a down spec version of the Supreme, more or less. You missed one "secret" feature, the red oval on the base with "TILT" marked next to it. Twist this oval and it moves to stand proud of the base tilting the camera up so you don't get the table top in your selfies at the cafe. I was told it was a 12.5 degree tilt as Canon techs calculated that was the average curve of car roofs!
Hello, I have checked the manual regarding the DX film coding and it can read DX coding for film rated from 50 ISO to 1600 ISO. However, if using slide film, the manual does recommend using ISO 50, 100, 200 or 400 film only for some reason. If you load non-DX coded film then it will set itself to ISO 100.
Well done. I think you've inspired me to start doing some camera reviews. Waist-level finder is pure gold for street photography. But if the flash fires, the discretion is GONE. ;-)
I guess you could tape over the flash with some black electrical tape. but it's not a quiet camera ...so there's the noise too....hmmm. hay that's great news! Glad your going to do reviews and that I've helped inspire you 👍🏻😄
@@dangerpowers123 I'll ping you when I get around to doing my first one. Can the noise be delayed? The designers of these early P&S cameras usually designed them so that if a photographer presses the shutter release and holds it down, it will just be the mostly-silent click of the leaf shutter. Only when a fellow RELEASES the shutter button does it wind and make that horrible racket. Is that the case here, or had Canon already "evolved" beyond that?
@@Smaug1 ok so the noise can be partly delayed. Holding it down it still makes a noise. But not the full wind on the film noise. It only does that after you release your finger

I just picked one up at a garage sale. $5. I am guessing it needs batteries. What kind of battery does it take? They look like CR123 but they are on a case.

@@IHATECREED616 yeah when I list this for sale I will 100% be explaining the noise is fine or it will be getting sent back to me for sure.

Nope

How to turn on the flash?
It’s automatic
My copy has a battery drain problem
How long does the battery last ?
@@dangerpowers123 2-3 weeks? In some instances, the camera would rewind mid-roll when I put the battery back in
@@dgs1518 I hope I don't get the same issues. Does sound like an electrical issue
