  • Traditionally on the Double Ninth Festival (Chong Yang Festival), people would climb up a mountain, drink chrysanthemum wine, and wear zhuyu plant.
This is because doing these things saved the lives of a whole family about 2,000 years ago.

Thank you so much for explaining the origins of your beautiful and rich culture rather than the modernized version. I would have loved to see visual examples of the ways Zhuyu was worn or examples of the process of preparing for it.
I'm also a bit fuzzy on the details of what exactly is considered traditional cultivation versus the modern definition as it seems to have lost or modified some of the original ritualistic factors that I'm certain had deeper more symbolic meanings and practical reasons for doing them in the past. I'm truly curious to know more about even the smallest parts lost to the passage of time as I believe they may be the key to elements that seem somehow lacking in the more modern ways.
Sometimes the deeper understanding of how and why of the smallest details is the most important part of the process, rather than simply rushing toward the outcome. No ritualistic factor is without it's purpose. How we've seen fit to discard portions for sake of convenience seems more contrary like self sabotage. At least that's where the logic would lead...
The music and dance links were exceptional. Thank you for those as well. They actually brought up additional questions. Were there specific unique instruments that were used to represent things? And the same with certain gestures or costume details for situations like ancient traditional cultivation and festivals? If so could you possibly explain them and show examples?

Glad you enjoyed it! And yes, there are many examples I can think of. Thank you for the suggestions! I'll add it to my list. :)
