All your old lectures aged like fine wine. They’re still some of most comprehensive, consistent content elucidating the ails of the current socioeconomic system. The prescience is painful.

Slavery still exists, never went anywhere. Not only is it legal in the US for punishment (hence why we have so many people in prison - free labor), but look at the stats of slavery worldwide today...

One of the most intelligent pieces I've seen on the internet. Bravo Mr. Joseph for a deep analysis of the "system" and for explaining it so well.

    • @sublimetate
      @sublimetate 7 дней назад

It’s not scientific but it’s also not unscientific (or not scientific). It can be understood using axiomatic logic and have truths that build upon truths. The predominant schools, however, use empiricism and have the same truth value as the social sciences.
If you reject economics you must also reject all the other social sciences, aka sociology, psychology, linguistics, history, etc.
Or you can claim these are all “not scientific” and akin to art, but must still understand that their truth value is subjective/relative at best.

Many Americans suffer a lot financially under Capitalism.
They simply don't understand (or don't want to face the reality) that Capitalism is what they should channel their frustrations at, rather than at one another, or at China or Russia. Under Capitalism, financial crises are created every certain number of years, it's not a stable economic system. The idea that Capitalism will bring a trickle down economy, has been proven again and again not to be working. And that is reflected also in the US' education system and graduates' difficulties in finding jobs.
As long as so many Americans continue to vote for the two mainstream political parties (Republican and Democratic), both which are aligned with the extreme implementation of Capitalism in the United States, the country will continue to endure financial hardship caused by inflation and other adverse outcomes of Capitalism, such as huge inequality. The U.S. government (and many of its people) thinks it still manages / controls the world. It no longer does ...
It's time for implementing Socialism in North America, similar to the one with Chinese characteristics that's implemented in China, or at least the Social Welfare Model of some European countries, by all conscientious people starting to vote for the Socialist Party of the United States.

Jesus flipped the tables in the temple. The purpose of the Temple to the ancient Hebrews was courthouse, bank, hospital and social services. Now what do you think that act would compare to in the modern era? Destruction of all of the criminal records, all of the tax records, bank account records, etc. Why that would be tantamount to hacking banks, the irs, police departments, court documents. Seems like Jesus was quite a 😂 revolutionary. Too bad people want to focus on his dying on a cross instead of his very socialist teachings. The poor will always be with us….. Because the squares have been running things. Hasn't always been that way. Dreamily I wonder what it means to live in the age of Aquarius. Surely the mechanisms of the piecian age are not going to persis.

I don't think markets as much of a problem as someone looking around and thinking the humans are a solution to anything or even a good idea. The most important thing is to do less and not make more humans.

So the only way to reach post-scarcity is to have consistently higher growth in the economy and scientific advancements than in population? But most scientific fields haven't had major progress in decades. Most "progress" has come from engineering, piggy-backing of the invention of the transistor in the 40s.

Has capitalism ever been done correctly? The same people that are trying to defend it, even when facing the ecological disasters and the social collapse we are facing, use this as an argument to justify persisting in its existence, regardless of the mathematical and scientific evidence that disproves its need.
I thought capitalism was supposed to be rational.

Markets are not the problem. Free markets are the solution. A state is an organization of people prone to their own biases and fallible nature. A free market incentivizes people to work together while limiting the coercive aspects of the state, resulting in a more efficient and ethical society.

This logic was in the past. In today technological reality the society parts are not able to work coherently and to match the speed of changes. So far no coherent system/tools is/are created for replacement of dead capitalism.
There is malfunction between left and right brain humanity functioning, which so far did not produce replacement...

There are no true free markets when there are conglomerates in every industry gobbling up and eliminating competition, having lobbyists write favorable laws, price collusion and planned obsolescence, state subsidies to already profitable and ecocidal corporations that stifle innovation, pollute and damage the health and well being of the population. Corporate welfare/socialism for oligarchs IS NOT A FREE MARKET

I assume that this guy's ZG4 documentary was missing the solutions of Fresco & the positivity of his previous trilogy and was thus just a typical backlash of usual Peter Joseph platitudes mixed with ancient Luther King quotes and digs at Capitalist billionaires much like his Interconnections bore-fest. It's sad when something with such potential fades into the past to become something merely nostalgic & long gone. No one's going to chance the world by challenging current dogma with 11.4k people.

The logical fallacy that attacks the person making an argument instead of the argument itself is called an ad hominem fallacy. The term comes from Latin and means "against the man".
