I’ve had the Genesis with Scandi grind now for just over three years, and it’s fantastic. I chipped the blade near the tip on mine very shortly after I got it, and was able to get it back in order with a synthetic whetstone (and a lot of patience). It’s my go to for most cutting and carving tasks. It’s only competitor in my collection is my Kabar BK7, which I use for hacking and some batoning. But, for its light weight, simple design, and drop dead gorgeous sheath, this knife truly is the edged companion of a lifetime.

A2 steel is quality steel. It has been and continues to be a a well regarded steel. NICE BLADE. ENJOY GREAT INVESTMENT.

That's the thickest blade stock you can go for a scandi if you want a good bushcraft knife. There is a reason the best bushcraft knives out there (Mora,LT Wright,Rob Evans MK tribute knife etc) all come with around 3mm blade stock scandi grinds. Scandis suck if the blade is thick, no matter what edge angle they come with. I wouldn't consider anything esle a "Bushcraft" knife, other grinds and thicker blades, can be considered "Survival" knives, which is the exact opposite of Bushcraft.

Thanks for the review HST. How would you compare this knife to the Reiff F4 Scandi?

@daniboi79 this blade profile I lime more because it's thinner. But the reiff handle is more comfortable
