450HP Turbo RSX Tears Up the Streets! (Big Turbo K20)

- Jay decided to bring his RSX from VA to MD to get some footage and get some pictures taken around the area. We had tons of fun filming this video and hope you all enjoyed the footage!

@@givemefreespeechyoutubehitlers no , it's a common trait on these cars,all of them with that eps system, same with the ep3 type r .... it's the electric power steering rack that cause all the steering problems...
Honda acknowledged this problem early on in 2002.
At that time the grease they used to lube the rack , was of a below par quality and not heat resistant enough, so being above the headers , it dried out very quickly causing a sticky steering feel.
(Solution: open rack, rebuild rubbers and seals, lube with the best , heat resistant grease, make a heatshield protecting the rack from the headers)
Then they fitted a flimsy , plastic
Rackslider that wore out pretty quick, causing a vague , mushy feel .
(Solution: install the SHG Motorsport delrin rack slider)
The rackdesign was horribly done , especially for a sportshatchback! The rack was mounted way op the firewall, en has these long tie rods wich connect to the center of the rack , (instead of a traditional rack where the tie rods attach to the outer the ends of the rack) , wich cause the tie rods to sit at een extremely weird angle , causing all kinds of steering and alignement problems, and pulling the car to all sides...
(Solution: install adjustable tie rods (tegiwa,hardrace) , add a tegiwa rack riser, and a hardrace bumpsteer correction kit (inverted tie rod ends) .
With all this done , go to a very good alignement specialist (not a run of the mill tyreshop) and ask them to do a fast road setup as geometry and let the car be corner balanced.
I did all this to my 2005 civic em2 coupe with fully build NA K20a2, wich also has the eps rack, at first it was just TERRIBLE to drive. But after lots and lots of research and trial & error, i now got the car steering as no other ! 🥳🥳🥳

whats the best build for a k20z1? i want to decide whether i want to go all motor or just go cheap turbo. i want to be different and more sleeper so NA is more what i want.
K20a2 and z1 can survive even more. Stock internals the most I’ve seen is 650hp. But obviously there’s no reliability at that point, probably need a rebuild in 5-10k miles depending on how bad you beat on it. More impressed by the transmission and drivetrain

Tearing up the road is so much more fun when you dont have to use all your focus to keep the car going straight.
@@Basscouch I have a built PPG helical trans with quaife lsd and the lsd is a night and day difference. This, and I have Hondata traction control and boost by gear that makes the boost come on very linear.

@@thesecretperk It works with Kpro. Its Hondata that has Traction Control. You have to buy it separately. Its works great tho!

@@jacksonjay4590 got no insta sorry man.got the sparco anyway.that way if I crash I can swap my seat and steering wheel into whatever car I track as where the nrg look like type r clones and probably wouldn't suit another car very well.

Need to beef up that suspension so I doesn't drive all over the road. That's dangerous and can cause an accident. It's making good power tho for a stock block.
Has no lsd so when it spins it will just take one wheel off and pulls you every which way

RSXs don’t come with LSD only the later model Si do im making the same power on my K24a2 swap and using the Acura ILX manual transmission & it doesn’t have LSD either

How do you like those seats? Fitment? Comfortable?
They’re dope for what they are. Not crazy expensive bucket seats that look good and they’ve lasted 3 years still feels like when I first got them

K20a2 with out the lsd trans ?? Base model 5 speed trans ?

It’s a Type S. Stock K20a2 with stock 6 speed trans, no lsd
Impressive but honestly would probably be faster with less power until you get an lsd….

what’s your toe set to? I know you don’t have an lsd but i would look into getting your alignment dialed and if you don’t have an shg rack slider now is the time to get one, it helped me a lot with my bump steer issues, it should help keep your car in a straight line
