He WAS sabered and trampled, but died later in police custody. And it was actually french police who killed the French Foreign Minister sitting next to Alexander, accidentally (revealed in a ballistics report released 1974).

If you look then the actual moment is missing from footage. At one moment you have nobody getting assassinated and the next frame point of view has shifted over and the guy is already getting a cavalry sabre right in the face, the cameraman must have stopped cranking at the crucial moment or maybe reached the end of reel. The audio track is of course entirely artificial, the shots you hear are post production along with the commentary. You can look at 0:45 at the other cameramen shooting the scene and see how the cameras were operated at the time.

If you look then the actual moment is missing from footage. At one moment you have nobody getting assassinated and the next frame point of view has shifted over and the guy is already getting a cavalry sabre right in the face, the cameraman must have stopped cranking at the crucial moment or maybe reached the end of reel. The audio track is of course entirely artificial, the shots you hear are post production along with the commentary. You can look at 0:45 at the other cameramen shooting the scene and see how the cameras were operated at the time.

If you can think of the time period this came out, many people were listening to this on radio so the announcers were always this descriptive.

If you look at the transition from 2:12 to the next shot the camera is already shaking and people are running suggesting this was an edit and there was footage removed.
