Is that still how Liverpool weighs the UCAT? I've seen multiple people say they have changed it up to be more UCAT focused now so Im really confused. Thanks!
I got a very low UCAT score, so I am now revising for the BMAT- but if that doesn't go well I was thinking of taking a gap year and applying next year. Would universities look down on me/ not consider my application if I take a gap year and apply the year after?
Urgh I got a lower score than last year even though I did so many more questions 😭😭 I got 2450 (last year 2560) so I’m thinking of applying to Keele, Cardiff, Liverpool and maybe Leicester/Aston since I applied to those last year. However I’m not sure if they allow reapplicants who have been rejected post interview so I’ve emailed them to find out. Do you think I’m in the right direction?
Defo. I'm in the same position as you. - dk but for whatever reason the ucat seemed harder this yr though i was convinced i would do better. Anyways your options are similar to what I chose and I think you should be good with good alevels and GCSEs.
Hi I'm international student with very high grades and lots of volunteering( hospital, youth centres ) im from Canada but my ucat score was 2090 is there any chance of getting into med school in the uk
A band 1 is still a great achievement and you can definitely still try applying! It's much better to try than to give up! Try looking at universities like HYMS, which really value a high band score. On top of that, you can try sitting the BMAT.
Same lol, I literally studied for hours every single day. Only to get 2440 B3 today even though I usually got band 1-2. I’m literally so physically drained
@@beepbobeep4594 Same I revised for around 6 weeks and was getting band 1s but I ended up getting a band 2 and my score was also lower than my medify mocks
I got a really low UCAT score, considering taking the bmat but I don’t know if I should just apply to bmat universities because I wouldn’t know how much I get until after I apply through Ucas, do I do that or should I also apply strategically with my ucat score with universities aswell?
GUYS IF YOU ARE WATCHING THE SECTION OF LOW UCAT UNIS IT IS A SCAM THERE IS NO SUCH THING I APPLIED TO ALL LOW UCAT UNIS AND THEN GOT A REPLY TELLING ME MY UCAT SCORE WAS TOO LOW ( meeting the cut off) , however apart from 1 UNI which was keele and they replied my R and D score was too low SO KEELE IS A GREAT OPTION as they actually consider something apart from UCAT
It’s not a scam. The video is two years old (relating to information from the application cycle three years ago). Things have changed as things have become more competitive and UCAT requirements have gone up. I’ll make an updated video, but you should always check the current year’s data. That’s why we have up to date information in the free resources section of our website: www.future-doc.com/free-resources
@@FutureDoc The thing is low ucat unis that you have said are still today being classed as low ucat unis on and several other youtubers as well as websites. I think it should be highlighted that with increasing number of applicants every year these low ucat unis are now having to look at ucat more so since there needs to be differentating factor. I applied to all these low ucat unis which " say they dont really consider UCAT but use a hollisitic approach" with my own research and got rejected because my UCAT was low despite meeting the cut offs.
Completely appreciate that this can be a problem with RUclips. Smaller channels will reference a popular video, and before you know it, obsolete information gets propagated. The aim is to point people in the right direction, but people should ALWAYS do their own research. Obviously when we work with people 1 ON 1 in our programme we deal with them in real time, so can give them current data. But point taken, I’ll make it a priority to get my team to get some up-to-date research and make a new one of these very soon. Thanks for bringing it to my attention 😊
You’ve still got a shot. Check out this article and use these to decide wheee to apply: future-doc.com/blog/which-medical-schools-will-consider-low-ucat-scores/
@@FutureDoc Thank you for replying. I've decided with my grades and work experience I could get into better universities for bio medicine and apply again for graduate entry. How would you recommend I improve my UCAT score for next time?
I would probably have to sit down with you and work out what you’re doing. I would also say that all is not lost with your current UCAT score. Remember that applying as a grad is way more competitive and you still have a chance with tour current UCAT. You even have time to sit and do well in the BMAT still. Feel free to email me on info@futuredoc.co if you’d like to discuss it further
@@FutureDoc I really want to do medicine but my chances aren’t very good. I don’t want to go to small cities for universities either which makes this whole decision even more apparent. UCAT has really taken up a lot of my and even if I do the BMAT now I only have 6 weeks to prepare. I already know how competitive it is to go into medicine after graduation but I feel like with my score I have almost no chance. Should I really take into consideration of low UCAT universities? I want to discuss this further with you. Is your email @gmail?
That's a score that you can definitely get into university with if you apply tactically! If you'd like to find out how, make sure to take a look at our Elite Coaching Programme here - future-doc.com/courses/1-to-1-support/
Hello, there might be, especially if you have a high band score. You can try applying to universities that really value it such as HYMS. On top of that, you can try taking the BMAT. You miss 100% of the chances you don't take!

Depends on how low your UCAT score is and how confident you feel with the BMAT!
Where to apply with 2820 and band 3?
Careful with the SJT band. Places like Birmingham would reject. Others would just look at the first 4 sections
I just got 2280 😭
I therefore intend to leave for Nepal where I intend to live as a goat
It's okay we're all in this together. Medicine is not the only option for people like us.
